What addons do people use for DK? I find it pretty difficult to manage runes when the runes are listed at the upper left corner of my monitor, and all my abilities are on the bottom. If i could move my runes/healthbar closer to my abilities that would be great. Right now, im just sort of spamming abilities in priority when they become available (but im 61 with several heirloom pieces so it hasn't mattered a whole lot yet).
Even though I rolled this character for tanking, i'm still hesitant about actually tanking an instance, because i feel i would be horrible.
Maybe I shouldn't even play my alt, though. i really need to tighten up my rotation on my frost mage. I'm just not bringing enough dps to the table.
I don't have the specific verbiage until I can get to my system at home, but there is a change to the normal camera distance macro that allows you to zoom out more than the standard UI lets you.
IIRC, you just have to change the value in the old macro from something like 5 or 10, to 3.6.
@Zombie Hero Tidy Plates is nice. It sticks your health and resources on a little bar right underneath the feet of your character.
It also sticks all your debuffs on little icons right above enmies with plates turned on.
It's nice!

You should be able to move your character's frame (and target's frame) down to your bars. As for stuff like rune tracking, there's likely a Weak Auras module in some of the DK forums out there. You could also try some tanking forums.

All accounts have every expansion up to Warlords of Draenor now whether you've purchased them or not as everything before Legion is now considered the base game. If you buy Legion, you get a boost to make one new or existing character level 100 so you can start into Legion content immediately.
I have what's probably a kind of dumb question, but I've been kinda unclear about the answer.
I have not played WoW since Lich King, so I don't have any of the expansions that followed. If I were to pick up Legion, do I need the previous expansions, or how does the game fill in those gaps?
I can confirm. I had only BC/CAT and when i got legion it gave me access to all the panda/warlords content. In fact, when i got the base game it gave me access to those contents as well.
Using the app to manage missions is dangerous without having access to WQs, or logging in enough to replenish those order resources.
I'm at the point where I can't even do missions because their ilvls are too high. Gotta be in game to use those follower upgrade items!
If you tap the follower to get their detailed view, there is a little green up arrow at the top of the pane. Tap it and it will show a list of the upgrade items you have.
I just used one while taking my morning poop at work.
The AH price that annoys me right now is that I need ten of some flower for Blacksmithing, and the price is 65g per individual flower on the AH.
I have made a lot of money off of foxflower, one of the few that hasn't dipped.
I also buy all the starlight rose whenever it hits under 50g because people are crazy and that one is hard to gather and will shoot back up. People were buying it at 140g a pop, why undercut so much?!
Also I have like 80k gold now from selling a few vial of the sands for like 5-10k profit woooo
Is there any way to disable the fire mage's Phoenix Flames visual effect? I like the dancing orbs of fire, but they can be distracting at times. I remember there being a glyph for warlocks that hid their souls while they were out of combat. Is there anything like that? If there is, I haven't seen it.

So i couldnt pop a dungeon queue as a balance druid. took forever.
So i got my resto game up. instant dungeons! Second random dungeon came up heroic. "Ive got this!". And then my tank was literally ricky bobby. No brakes, full throttle. Train keeps rolling all night long. Pull them all and let god sort it out.
It was the quickest most hectic dungeon run ever.
I do have to say leveling crafting/cooking in Legion is balls. Like Draenor had plenty of + number ways to level your profession, but Legion does not ever it seems. Like you're lucky to get an orange recipe.
And Nomi is a failure, A FAILURE NOMI YOU ARE MEGA CLEVELAND BROWNS!
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Actually no you don't. Click the green UP arrow next to the followers name in the follower pannel on the app. You can use any equipment thing in your inventory like that.

I don't mind the gating for the consumables/enhancements professions, it's nice to feel like you have to actually work at your professions again, but gating the crafted gear behind Mythic was a stuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid choice. By the time you get it, you have access to 840 (or more, with Forging) gear, so even a 7 Obliterum piece is only a 10 ilvl upgrade. The gear crafting professions already drop off super hard once raids/Mythic+ are available, at least let them be the kings during the first month or so.

Does skill level do anything for professions anymore? Like, are any legion recipes gated by skill level?

For DK, CompactRunes pretty much does everything that you want and you don't have to mess with configurations that much.
So, just how bad are warlocks in this expansion when as a Holy Paladin, I came in 3rd for DPS dealt?
Mind you, I was playing with my pocket Warrior tank friend who is pretty good about being more than a warm body meatbag and actually has a pulse when he plays, so healing him was easy, nevermind Warriors just in general being easier to heal than other tank types. I was free to be in melee and swing my hammer around and noticed after the first fight in Black Rook hold, that I was ahead of the two Destrolocks. Not by any significant margin, and at times we all traded places for 3rd, but by the end of the instance, I was in 3rd DPS by a good margin, and I just felt bad for the warlocks.
So I got my characters back. Seems my account was hacked back in 2009 when I was deployed and I never noticed all the emails from Blizzard as they closed my WoW account. I never did link it to my battle.net account.
All is fixed and I transferred my old main (who is only level 72) over to my new account.
I'm liking the priest that I used the boost to 100. Disc priest is fun and pretty easy at leveling as I got him to 108 already. Is shadow priest better at dps for leveling?
Also, anyone SLI 980Ti's with this game? At 1440p my rig is just sticking at 95-100 fps and not going over? I figured I would be at 144fps as that's what my monitor caps out at.
Is there some weird setting I have enabled that is killing my FPS?

What have they done to you?
The locks I've run with have seemed mostly okay. I can't say I've noticed any particular class tending to be low on damage (the only thing I have noticed is that Havoc DHs have absolutely balls insane AoE, but kinda meh single target).
My wife and I had a horrible Halls of valor run with 3 fire mages, I don't know if they had their head up their ass or what, but they couldn't dps for shit and kept getting hit by random aoe shit they should know better about.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Halls of Valor has a lot of boss mechanics that people are bad at. Odyn on mythic is rough. The first boss in there has very hard to see drakes that leave giant AOE patches that no one ever moves out of.
As a healer, DON'T STAND IN THINGS even if they won't kill you! I have to prioritize the tank and myself and if you take a huge chunk and then get sideswiped by something you're toast.

I don't understand, mages are the easiest class to play and fire is the big dick dps spec according to... "people"... so they should automatically win all of the things?

Gotta stand still for Fireball. Gotta get a Hot Streak. No time to move out of that 400k cleave. Hot Streak! Stand still and Pyro>Fire Blast>Pyro>Fire Blast>Pyro>HotP>Pyro!

Don't forget the lure of rune of power. It's tempting to take an AOE hit you'll survive just for that huge dps increase.
But you do way worse dps when I stop healing you because I notice you don't bother to move out of AOEs.
On mythic, they just kill you outright, I can't even heal you. Odyn doesn't even let you brez or use spirit of redemption! Just whisks you to the sidelines with a val'kyr.

But I could see a shitty pug person doing worse than a healer.
not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me
As a paladin healer, its a real bitch on some fights where dps don't do you a solid and avoid getting hit by avoidable damage. Like I can totally see getting nailed by random shit, happens to the best of us. But on other things you can avoid, maybe do that?
Also I've just seen a lot of poor dps (lack of focus fire on trash, not using interrupts, pulling extra mobs) and that super frustrating because the usual blame spectrum for why a run failed is always tank/healer, and so it sucks when its just shitty dps.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
The general consensus seems to be that locks are doing worse for more effort, which I'm inclined to believe just from watching some of them. A lot of good warlocks are speaking out and making well thought out posts why there are issues too...like mythic raiders whose experience qualifies there views in my eyes at least.
My own experience seems to mirror that I feel just beat after dungeon runs...and even questing as a warlock. So much effort for below average gains.

Our warlock is praying for Demo buffs and has been banking AP just in case.
Wait, where is this "Crafted Gear is gated behind Mythics" coming from?
Because I was making my crafted gear well before running Mythics.
Some of the plans require a Mythic boss kill (e.g. Engineering goggles).

There are warlocks actually putting up decent damage, but it seems rare.
I have a feeling that, while they are a bit undertuned, it is compounded by them being somewhat difficult to play right. Which is also compounded by all 3 specs having HUGE ramp up time.
When I tested all the classes and specs on the 110 premades in beta with 34 points in the artifact weapons, Demo lock at least put up VERY good numbers. It was much better than most other dps specs I played in this same situation (like both warrior damage specs, for instance). However there were some other specs that blew them all out of the water (like Assassination rogue before the trickle nerfs the received over the last month before release).
Holy paladin though is capable of some insane DPS especially in short fights. They also have some of the best dps talent options of all the healers. If you keep your artifact leveled up that bonus damage can really show as well. Like the ability to have guaranteed crit holy shocks doing 30% bonus damage from judgement every 2.5 seconds is pretty nuts, and it can crit for up to 2.48x damage if you could manage 3 relics for that trait (it boosts both healing AND damage crits where the bonus to avenging wrath one is only healing). Unfortunately it kind of falls off massively once those CDs are done.
