wait we had more than one clan on ps4 right? I don't even remember. I feel like there should be more people on or something
We've been consolidating to just the one due to attrition.
If we're moving over to one clan how do I get into that one? or am I already in it? you see what I mean?? lol
Looks like there are still two slots open, so I think you just go to the Pax Arcadia clan group thing on the Bungie site and click "join group" then that button changes to "join clan" and Ski will add you. I'm not really sure what Pax Arcadia II counts as anymore, as it didn't get folded into the joined Xbox/PS4 Pax Arcadia "clan group".

it's just weird because up until now the whole clan thing was just like, "That's nice" but it wasn't anything I had a reason to really pay too much attention to until now I guess.
I'd love to have just one AR and one HC that I'm competitive with for this Rifles and Cannons bounty. Scouts and Pulses take me barely more than a round a piece, but those two are just a pain in the ass
For auto rifles - get the VENDOR Righteous VII, with the new buffs it is much, much nicer than ever before. The thing about ARs is that they tools of punishment not for pushing. Anyone who has a weapon with higher burst potential is going to outshoot you as they can duck in and out of cover. So you need to make people over commit or tag them with a grenade first.
For hand cannons, I suggest playing crucible until you get a god roll Eyasluna. The finnala's peril from a while back is solid, the vanity from FWC works ok. Hawkmoon is very solid. Remember that hand cannons have the most accuracy of any weapon from the air. So be the bippity bop pity bunny hoppiest guy out - especially if this means getting the drop on someone expecting you to come around the side of a piece of cover when in fact you are going over it.

I work for the cable company. One of my employee benefits is 500 Mb cable internet. If I could share it i would
(Humble Brag)
Honest question, how is the crucible with a 500 Mb connection?
Chances are you're still going to have some unpleasant experiences as destiny's p2p matches relies on everyone's connections, not just yours. Plus, latency is the real killer. And you get different effects from upload and download latency - lag switchers induce lag to their upstream connection but still receive data about everyone else due to still accepting incoming packets.
PS4 Update: Because I am super happy about this clan roster functionality and because I am drunk with power (as always), and also because we just hit the 100/100 cap, I took a few minutes (19 of them) and bounced from PA anyone who hasn't logged on in five months. I realize that people have taken a hiatus and will be coming back, but... hey, maybe they won't. Or at least, they won't all come back. Better to give the spots in PA to active Arcadians who will be looking to group up for new content in a week! We'll see if we still need to rock PA and PA2 after RoI launches. But we now have 13 open spots in PA.
Edit: If possible, and especially if Bungie ever raises the cap, I'd like to keep six months as the inactivity threshold, because people take breaks to play other games and real life happens sometimes and part of playing games with PA friends shouldn't have to be micromanaging how often you've logged on to retain a spot or whatever. So six months will be the new standard once again. But I'm being a bit aggressive with the boot right now because we have people trying to move over to PA1 to be under one roof, and maybe some of those lapsed players will be picking up a bunch of other games this fall and won't ever get back into Destiny, and I want everyone to be able to join up/switch over/have friends with whom they can group up.
Ran some strikes with @MagicPrime alongside the LAGGIEST fucking pubbie. This dude was so laggy that it was causing all opposition to spawn but not react, confusing the hell out of Magic and myself. I wanted to give the guy the boot, but apparently you can't kick folks that aren't actually in your fireteam-fireteam.
And the goshdarn rain of green engrams really puts burden upon your inventory if you're not snap deleting that stuff. After running 3 (?) strikes, my postmaster was full up; hopefully I didn't lose anything nice.
Guardians, Recently, our conversation as a community has included a spirited debate about the role of the Hand Cannon in Destiny. We had that same chat in our own house. Here is a statement that our Sandbox Design Team created together. Those are the developers who work on the overall gameplay in Destiny. These are their words.
Hello Destiny community!
Due to a recent resurgence in feedback about “Ghost Bullets” we wanted to take a minute to explain how and why the weapons in Destiny behave the way that they do… “Ghost Bullets” is a community-coined term that is being used to describe the frustration of missing the intended target due to weapon stats. The bullets aren’t disappearing, they just aren’t hitting the bullseye. Internally, we would call this specific aspect of a weapon “Accuracy,” which is one of the values embedded in the Range Stat of every Destiny weapon. When looking at Destiny weapon archetypes, we wanted players to be able to assume a weapon’s traits through visuals and an intuitive understanding of how weapons work. Players can make the assumption that barrel length, and stability (stock) will affect the accuracy of a weapon class. These types of distinctive behaviors make for fun and interesting choices within the action simulation. In short, Hand Cannons, with a relatively short barrel and no stock, are not intended to be long range precision weapons like a Scout Rifle or a Sniper Rifle. Instead they are big, heavy, pistols that pack a large punch. If you can control the kick, and close on your targets during combat, you will likely (as our friend Variks says) “Kill them dead.”
We want to very sincerely say that this communique is not meant to be argumentative or belittle any of the consistent feedback we’ve received on the subject. Regardless of how “correctly” the game systems are working, the core message is that shooting a Hand Cannon during high skill gameplay can feel inconsistent and/or frustrating for people. We hear you, and we are always looking to improve on that experience. While it’s unlikely that we would completely remove Accuracy as a concept from Destiny weapons, we will investigate alternative options to balance Hand Cannons vs. other weapon archetypes.
Destiny is a game that will evolve as players push, pull, and build the world. You are wonderful people, the best community, and passionate about this game in a way that pushes us to always be our best. Thank you for playing, and thank you for reading. To reiterate that the game makers just said: These conversations are never finished. Keep telling us what you think about the gunplay and the balance in Destiny, and us community guys continue to add your voice to their discussion about our creative process.
I feel like "bloom"/"ghost bullets" is a reasonable thing. I mean, nobody's bitching about the fact that if I'm slightly out of range with The Chaperone it does not a damn thing and it's nominally a big-ass hand cannon. Pumping 5 rounds into someone's head as I charge them and only the last one hitting is a bitch. At least let me do some tiny, insignificant amount of damage.
@metaghost and @Wassermelone now that I have your tags recollected unto me, thanks! I may not finish my year 2 MoT but the CoE was fun and hey, now I've got 33ofcoins I didn't have before
Edit:
I like that one of our three tags on the clan stats is #wang
What is this "Pax Arcadia Prime"? I was PA I. Now there is a PA 0? WTFMFIWBPA0. But I was gone for like 6 months so I guess I asked for it. Fucking Witcher 3, eating up all my time with its vampires and feisty redheads and shit.
I do not care for this CoE lack of a crystal grotto. I like dropping down the hole to get my shit. It's a nice cap to the whole thing. Come on, Variks. You've got one...okay, like three jobs. But still. How hard is it to be a warden of CELLS! FROM THE PRISON OF ELDERS!?
Edit de deuce: @Agonarch D'you still Destiny? I'm your Destiny link partner and we didn't finish the partner quest line. Sorry about that. Wanna?
More bitching about the bitching about Bloom: As someone who had a Thorn back when Thorn was the thing to have if you wanted to Crucible, the "you don't get to hit things you point at regardless of how far away they are" bloom thing is entirely reasonable. Sniping snipers with my Thorn was some bullshit, which I say as a person who was doing the counter-sniping-sniping. If you've got a big enough TV and a steady hand you can shoot anything with whatever gun you've got. Sure, that works IRL. But this isn't IRL it's Destiny.
Pax Arcadia Prime is the Xbox clan because we can't have the same name
(Disclaimer: I work for MS)
Xbox? What is this xbox? Some bullshit? I'm going with some bullshit. Quit being bullshit..
I kid, I kid. I got much love for my xbox brothers. I just don't play that way.
We have any word on Destiny 2? Is it going to be PS4.5/XboneS exclusive?
I doubt XboneS as that's just the slim version. The Scorpio is the Xbox 1.5
As for exclusive PS4 Pro, I doubt it? They didn't go exclusive for the PS4 and One, so I don't see why they would now. It would really cut down on the user base.
And the PS4 Pro won't allow improvements for MP games, as that would be an unfair advantage to their cross play. I haven't followed Scorpio so I have now idea if cross play between it and the One will be a thing.
I've applied to join the PA clan. As much as it pains me to leave my current clan, with no active members it's really just a name. A good name, but not a useful one. While I probably won't actually be on much until Rise drops in a week, things should pick up then.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

Guess I'll log on Tini's Titan and do all the King's Fall challenge stuff in the raid on Sunday, that should give him a fair boost and probably a few fragments, emblems, etc.
Alright, I will admit when I'm surprised, good job Bungie with the x3 send off. That was a good move. No Nightfall on the Dreadnaught but still, good effort.

This is why I failed my MoT. But at least I was able to grind out the Dawncaller.

Bungie has made a short statement regarding bloom on hand cannons
