Made it up to 352 tonight, after pulling a 353 FWC sidearm and class item from a package, Really need some better gloves and helmet now, and a primary.
Also, got to FWC rank 25, and started the faction quest, but NOTHING is progressing. I'm wearing an Eon Tracer mark which I got out of an FWC package, Babylon 9191 as a shader, and Sigil of Deviance as an emblem, but it hasn't counted a single kill in either of the 2 heroic strikes I've run (and didn't count those strikes as well). Any idea? Is the quest bugged?
At a guess the quest predates the Eon Tracer mark, so isn't counting it as a FWC mark.
aaaaaaassssssssss
That's just a guess, I don't know for sure.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.
My Hunter still has to do five or so strikes for her FWC cloak. The quest says Vanguard strikes... I guess the SIVA stuff won't count?
Fun fact: One of my granny's cows was called Siva.

Yeah, my titan with the spektar kallipollis mark did fine in the heroic siva crisis playlist.
Try a spektar mark perhaps.

Fenchurch Everess has been in the traveller, apparently.
The "one hour per light level" thing is seriously not fun. There isnt 20+ hours of new content in this expansion, forcing me to run a hundred heroic strikes or exploit your stupid wizard boss just to see the raid is dumb.
Guess Taken King was the quality exception, instead of a new norm.
I think the way they handle progression in strikes is actually really good. A guaranteed slow climb using a previously untapped game mode.
It just shouldn't be the only way. Purples should be able to drop much higher than strike blues to allow pvp or other methods to feel like they can provide an alternative leveling path.
Taken out of context RoI strike leveling is actually really good it just is bad that it's the only real option.
This theory arose from the ghost fragment Rasputin 5. The relevant part is quoted below.
[*] If a CIVILIZATION KILL EVENT is underway [all flexions] If tactical morality is built at MIDNIGHT Stand by for DECISION POINT:
[*] If available ISR and WARWATCH indicates imminent [O] departure then [O] departure compromises human/neohuman survival and epoch strategy
[*] Stand by for ABHORRENT IMPERATIVE:
[*] Activate LOKI CROWN Perform deniable authorization: full caedometric and noetic release Prevent [O] departure by any means available Stand by for effect assessment criteria:
[*] Coerce pseudoaltruistic [O] defensive action. Defer civilization kill.
Now this was already a pretty sound theory. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Really the only departure that would compromise the human/neohuman survival is, that's right, the Traveler. Plus, you know the whole "O" thing. (It's shaped like the traveler). But I digress.
Now we have the nail in the coffin. In Rasputin 6, the same notation is repeated.
[*] SITE 6 has been breached by unauthorized users with [O] energy. I am invoking PALISADE IMPERATIVE. [O] lifeforms in restricted areas will be suppressed.
This tidbit is referring to the Iron Lords' demise in the SIVA bunker. Notice how it refers to them with the "O".
So basically, this confirms that Rasputin 5 was indeed referring to the Traveler; and Rasputin did, in fact, shoot it down. What that means exactly for humanity is still a little vague, but it definitely means that the big ball in the sky isn't totally selfless. It has a will to survive, even if it means leaving a civilization behind.
Well I finally got a Skeleton key and since my artifact is legit 6-8 levels below all my gear and I read that popping a chest gets you an artifact if its lowest...
I instantly used the key on the chest I got it on. And got the dark blade fusion which is 100% the only strike gear I got other than the free key you get.
What's the consensus on artifacts? Are they supposed to act as a blocker? Is there a better way to guarantee an artifact upgrade? Forge for example?(since court was,,,)
Were you in the Heroic playlist? It's worked everytime for me and my group in Heroic
I was.. I got a class item instead of an artifact even though my class item was higher than my artifact.
I'll unbox one of my purples to see if that gets me an artifact. If so this system isn't THAT bad. I'm 156 being held back by a 151 artifact. Jumped 3 levels in 2 hours last night and have a bunch of like 158 gear. I assume like 2 more nights and I'll be 160 which I hope is enough to start the raid.
Plus I can still do the nightfall, cash in some engrams, use motes to get packages etc.
The one big thing is that once you get one char to a certain light level it's prwctically trivial to get alts up there too. So that's pretty awesome

We knew the Traveller was willing to abandon a species because it already did and that's why the Fallen are here
I don't think the Traveler leaves civilizations willingly. There was a grimore card I remember, although I can't currently find it, where someone asks the question if the Traveler is fleeing the darkness, or if its being pushed away.

Hence their giant floating orb god fetish
The Traveler is basically their dad who went out for a pack of smokes and they keep inventing father figures to try and stand in for him... but its just not the same and as much as they hate him for leaving, they just love him so much still
Is 358 high enough for the first boss in the Raid? I can probably grind out those 2 LL this week after the reset, but I have seen streams of people lower than that in there.

Yea, probably if the whole group isn't 358 or is good at DPS.
Still vague general raid mechanic comment:
Add control is a big part of that fight but enrage seems fairly generous. So long as you can consistently kill the little dudes the fight is manageable.

so i need one more shank offering in the forge, and to run through the CoE a few times to finish off the weekly stuff. got the nightfall too but not sure i'm quite ready for that. getting close though.
and as for Bungie having forgotten about the Traveller, i'm not sure about that but they've certainly forgotten all about the Speaker.

Pretty sure they say the word Traveller once in RoI
It just shouldn't be the only way. Purples should be able to drop much higher than strike blues to allow pvp or other methods to feel like they can provide an alternative leveling path.
Purples that drop from PvP do drop higher than strike blues, so it is an alternative leveling path, albeit one that a lot of folks tend to disregard because they don't like PvP.
Sunday Best (that we can get at the time) beat the raid this afternoon!
Group photo! Booker and Erevar (Shadrak) in the back, seasoned NATBurn raiders, were of course a huge help. Unfortunately two of our Sunday Best regulars couldn't make it, but our usual backups were there to fill in. Next week, guys!
380+ light level makes a huge difference in the raid.
Booker and Erevar were too cool for our emblem screenshot, but Bogey was kind enough to fill in. Thanks!
The raid's awesome. Huge thanks to everyone I've played with in the last week, as well as everyone in my regular raid groups over the last two years. You guys rock.
Congrats guys! This past Sunday represents the last time I leave early to watch dumb football.

So apparently there's a new exotic farm where you queue up the last mission of the expansion, play till the end and pop a 3oC, merc the first remnant then pop a 3 and merc a second before suiciding off the little fungal bridge and doing it again

Hah! @Malakaius were just thinking that would probably be a good spot for that and proposing exactly that method

I thought 3oC doesn't work if you pop it within ten minutes of another one?

Folks have said that forever, but you can definitely get both Shield Brothers to leave behind exotics in the pile of their rubble. And I think the original analysis of 3oC just stated that using them raises the chance for exotic incrementally until an exotic drops and then it resets, such that getting consecutive exotics is rare but possible.

Yeah, I saw that in a video by MoreConsole on YouTube. Then you use the decoded exotic engrams to infuse into your purple gear for light increases or shard them for more shards as appropriate. IIRC he gained nearly two light levels off of five or six exotic engrams. I plan to try this out tonight if anyone on PS4 wants to come along to make it go faster.

I got 2 exotics out of the story bosses, thought I just got extremely lucky, when Booker said he experienced the same, I thought I'd go check it out again soon.
Pretty much, also fun fact, Splicer Keys and SIVA offerings dont get sent to the Postmaster.
I found a good group and did some Archons Forge earlier, the 3 of us, did 3 of them and promptly stopped because noone got new offerings... I got the Titan boots though.
The areas you open with them seem to have legendary engrams in the chests about 50% of the time for me. Anecdotal and all. Also useful for getting into in-progress Perfected forge runs when you run across one.

This seems like a pretty wild outlier
I've been using them constantly because of the book, and I don't know if I've seen even a blue engram out of some odd forty chests behind Splicer Keys

yeah, i don't know what Bungie were thinking going for such big names in vanilla.
