If you grow your own, you are in control of the whole process.

You can make sure it gets fertilized, control how dry it gets, and make mass quantities of it. If anyone asked what you were doing, just say "Its sage man. I'm gonna be making alot of soup."

Shit, there's a tobacco shop near me that sells salvia. To reiterate, it's not just a matter of growing the right plant (though that's certainly a step in the right direction) but I've tried regular dried salvia and it doesn't do much unless they add salvia extract to it to increase the potency of the psychoactive compound. Knock yourself out but I think you'll find that just smoking regular salvia without extract added will require you to smoke a shitload for a rather minor effect.
