Nothing. It just gets rid of them, and acts like they never existed.

    No empty space or anything.

Woah, seriously? Because I'm using Firefox and I'm still seeing it. Is there an option I need to turn on somewhere? Is there a plugin or something I have to download?

The latest version of Avant has ad block as well though it does redirect your 404's to a search page. That doesn't make me very happy.

Why not just NOT block the ads? They're small, unintrusive and often have good sites like Mile High Comics.

Ironically the google ads on this page are advertising ad blockers.

I don't have them blocked, I was just explaining how it works in FireFox.

I like Google ads, for some reason.

I say! It seems not wise to download a basic browser if you're going to need to download a bazillion plugins to make it bad ass.

Oh yeah, I can do that with Internet Explorer.

Well the point of downloading a simple browser, then a whole pile of plugins, iis you only have exactly what you need, not a whole pile of extra crap.

    except, you know

    massive security holes

    missing functionality

    etc.

Well this has drifted off-topic in an incredibly predictable way.

Google always plays with its name. Why? I don't know, maybe they think it keeps the brand fresh or something.
