I still want to play that fangame, but it consistently crashes during the second boss fight, and I can't find any info about anyone else having the issue, or what a fix might be. It's sad, because the gameplay is alright, and the use of Castlevania-style character portraits is super stylish.

It's not even that great. It's a cool moment, but you're trading the most actual exposition about the Lord Souls ever for "hey, they thought about the logic of you doing the DLC away earlier than you probably should."
I feel bad dogpiling on SBFP now cos im just adding to this overwhelming chorus of vitriol and caustic shit coming from their fans already and they really don't deserve it. While it might be frustrating about Pats puzzle problems we should remember that their good people and are trying to produce quality content
I had no idea they got so much shit, so I've been meaning to write them a nice note to say thanks. They are a bunch of funny goofs, and I get that it can be frustrating to watch people miss stuff you know is there but it's hard to play and talk.

It's just not the same if they already know what happens. My favorite moments have always been when they are completely taken by surprise and get all giddy with excitement:

the technical aspect of the game like animation and dialog are very not good
the gameplay itself is staggeringly mediocre and uninventive
the amount of money, time and hype that went into making what amounts to a wet fart is very disappointing
also yeah, the game is (to it's credit) trying very hard to be inclusive
