Did a Crucible match and got a 363 Cryptic Dragon scout rifle that rolled Zen Moment, Explosive Rounds/Braced Frame/Custom Optics, and Firefly. It's 19 rounds of constant explosions! It's definitely giving Angels Advocate a run for it's money.
I have three excellent primaries that I cant decide which one is my favorite. I could make that six with multiple high stability high impact auto rifles.
Alright Arach Jalal, you're ok in my book. After who knows how many packages, dude gave me a package with a 376 ghost (omgfrickinfinally!), a 376 chroma chest piece with near perfect rolls, and threw in the new dead orbit sparrow just for good measure.
So they thought Osiris was some experiment gone wrong reincarnated by a ghost? That is badass
So the Exos are almost certainly Nth generation evolutions of the external anti-vex infection brainbots mentioned in Ghost Fragment Vex 4. I suspect that Osiris is one of the first brainbots containing one of our favorite four researchers (Maya, Chioma, Duane-McNiadh and Shim), but since it wasn't identifiable as an Exo, he was brought back as a human instead.
This is why he's obsessed with the Vex, and why his various plots (like finding flawless ToO players) align generally with some of the ideas of the FWC, finding guardians who can win against the impossible odds of the future war against the darkness.
Got to get back in some strikes with PA folks, to hit Raid level. The pubbing scene for any moderately challenging/rewarding activity is pretty terrible right now. Matchmaking only ever teams me up with glass cannons who only spec for super recharge and never for defense, who lack any situational awareness, and who are always being caught flat-footed by even the most telegraphed of enemy attacks.

I am so salty. The loss system is hot fucking garbage. I had a green bar all night and haven't been dropped from any activity in months. Suddenly get dropped as we fly in on a group of yellow bars? Fuck off Bungee.
My rage burns bright and endlessly, like that of so many stars. My anger is so great I could snap my controller in twain. My passionate hate is such that, the venomous vitriol spilling forth from my macabre socket of a mouth could be used as a renewable source of energy. If I could speak directly to Bungie, I would with boiling blood and furious eyes, scathe and scorn their very beings.
At some point on PS4 we really need to get a European Raid Team together like we had in vanilla.
There's at least myself, Hermano , Haphazard , AngryPuppy , Dajoran , Redcoat-13 , caligynefob
I have a dream that I can complete a raid without having to stay up into the early hours of the morning.
Add me to the list as I am in euro land now. I'd love to actually complete a raid in this game.
On another note, since so many swear by the Grasp of Malok I went out and got one. Maybe I just don't have the aiming displine coming from the Zhallo, but I just don't see why everyone loves this thing so much. It seems... gutless I suppose.
Additionally, having clawed my way to 352, I feel stuck in the 350 quagmire. It seems like I am underleveled for Heroics, but normal strikes get me no where.
Man, fuck the Brothers on Solar Burn/Small Arms. My two randos and I got it done finally, but holy shit! OHKO's all over the place.
Ended tonight at over halfway to 363. I am now up to something like 20 legendary engrams popped with no higher LL gear to show for it. That is pathetic. Hell, I popped one that was four points LESS than my current!
Is your artifact or ghostbholding you back?
Artifact. It's 351, everything else is 362-364. Time to farm CoO for bounties.

Skeleton keys are fairly reliable at turning over artifacts if it's what's holding you back. Two out of 3 times I've tried I've gotten an artifact that was an improvement. Pity skeleton key drop rates are such garbage.
Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

I'm just shaking myself off, taking a deep breath and a long run up for this Iron Banner where I hope I can make some quick gains in LL (I'm sitting on 351 atm).
I've hit exalted Hydraxian Waterlords in vanilla Warcraft, so these Iron Banner chumps are going to be a doddle no matter what they throw my way

Yeah, I switched over to Hard playlist last night. Five or six strikes without a key. I really wish I hadn't wasted the two I've gotten. I think I'll go through RoI with an alt to get another instead of relying on RNG.
After Bungie announced that the new map Bannerfall takes place in a different tower, and that it was home to a young New Monarchy, and an unknown faction that is no longer around, I've been extremely curious to know more.
Last night before falling asleep I was looking through some of the Grimoire cards and noticed something while reading Ghost Fragment: The City Age. There is mention of two factions that are unknown in game (at least to me).
First up is the Symmetry (pulled from Ghost Fragment: The City Age):
"The Symmetry has been gaining a strong following..."
"Ulan-Tan's teachings are too dangerous. Too much fear. Who knew he'd be more trouble dead than alive?"
Who is Ulan-Tan? And what role does he play in the Destiny Universe?
Searching through the Grimoire cards there is only four mentions of Ulan-Tan. One on The Darkness, Chamber of Night, The City Age, and Ulan-Tan's Burial Ring.
From Ulan-Tan's Burial Ring one is safe to assume that he was a Warlock (though this is not confirmed in any detail throught the Grimoire cards) because the item is a Warlock Bond.
From The Darkness we learn more about Ulan-Tan's Thesis (the basis on which the Symmetry 'faction' formed). He believed that the Darkness was the necessary opposite to the Traveler. We owe the Traveler for its protection of us.
From the Chamber of Night card we hear Ikora Rey admit that Ulan-Tan's theory is possibly correct. If the Hive could affect the Traveler by shrouding its shard in Darkness, then perhaps all light, and all darkness are connected.
We have already covered Ulan-Tan in The City Age Grimoire Card so I won't quote it again. But why did the city think his beliefs were dangerous? Possibly because his teachings claim that the darkness is necessary to balance the traveler's light. It leads one to believe that if you want to get rid of the darkness, you must also get rid of the light.
This is speculation on my behalf, but I also think these cards that leave the tower, the factions, and the speaker open to ambiguity let Bungie adapt the story in the future. By not providing concrete answers in the first year (hell probably not even for the first nine), they'll allow themselves to adapt to player reactions over time.
Whew. Now on to the second faction mentioned in The City Age grimoire card, the Concordat:
"And so it is agreed. The Concordat shall no longer be recognized among the consensus. We'll begin the dismantling right away. But what of those Guardians who have pledged to them? We can't afford any more banishments."
"I'm sure Zavala can see to their realignment."
Later in the card we get mention that the Concordat is led by a Guardian named Lysander. Searching the Grimoire cards, and item database I saw no mention of the Lysander, or of the Concordat, except in one other card, Osiris
"You were a mighty warrior. I watched you at Six Fronts, and heeded the call of Saint-14 to appoint you Vanguard Commander, even when the Concordat claimed to have records proving you were a Golden Age experiment mis-incarnated as a human by an inept Ghost. Saint-14 assured me you were just a man without much patience for obfuscation."
So throughout all of the Grimoire cards, this small comment is the only other mention of the Concordat.
But if we look back at the City Age card, towards the end of what I quoted we get something interesting... Mention of Zavala. Why is this interesting? Zavala is the Titan Vanguard, and the logo for the unknown faction looks awfully similar to some of the Striker Titan imagery.
Here is PlanetDestiny gameplay on Bannerfall showing the other faction's insignia (watch until around 55s to get a better look).
And here is an image of the Striker Titan skill tree.
Hopefully with the Taken King we'll learn more about this faction, and others like it. But until then, my speculation is that the Concordat is the other faction in Bannerfall, and that it was a faction of mostly Titans, thus the absorption under Zavala, and the similarity to the Striker Titan's imagery.
Let me know what your thoughts are below.
TLDR;
Bungie said that New Monarchy, and an unknown faction resided in the now derelict tower that Bannerfall takes place on. I believe that it is the Concordat, and that it was a mostly Titan Faction (possibly where Striker Titans originated from).
I am so salty. The loss system is hot fucking garbage. I had a green bar all night and haven't been dropped from any activity in months. Suddenly get dropped as we fly in on a group of yellow bars? Fuck off Bungee.
IMO keeping the win-based matchmaking but taking out the sting of losses would make Trials a much better experience. I'd love to just be able to enjoy the competition, and not have to worry about bullshit that could ruin an hour's worth of progress in an instant. There should never be an incentive to not continue a card (especially when the loss is not your fault), and there should never be an incentive to lose.
It might make Lighthouse less prestigious, but I can't say I really care. Trials wasn't this hardcore in Year 1 and that was totally fine. Bungie clearly doesn't care either, since they're giving away goddamned Pariah gear to anybody.

It's definitely created the sweaty ass meta that is Y3 Trials. Day one, fighting dudes who are already rocking flawless emblems. Lagswitchers. Connection 'errors' that seem a bit too convenient. Rezsnipes. LFG's demanding absurd stats and loadouts. No matchmaking. These are all problems Bungie has created and ignores. They say they ban lagswitchers but, we still see them all the time.
I really love Trials. The feeling of going flawless, with nothing but skill and good teamwork, is amazing. Which is why it stings so bad when I lose at 8 due to a fucking connection error. We've all sunk countless hours into Trials, and when it works correctly it's a blast. But it is entirely too easy to get shit on and shut out by cheaters and other bullshit.
We got to 8 wins and lost multiple times this weekend. Wasting an hour plus of effort and leaving sad and salty is garbage. Bungie, if somehow you read this, please consider changing Trials.
Bring the Y1 card system back. Let me get coins easier. Or hell, toss out coins entirely. Do like the Tempered Buff and make every card have boons by default. Let me buy more Mercy's, so I don't have to scrap a card everytime we get a single loss. Get rid of losses entirely. Something has to change, otherwise by this time next year Trials is going to be an Olympic sized swimming pool of sweat and bullshit.

I dunno. A part of me thinks that's why I never bothered with trials. Primarily because there's only two engagement ranges and they have no real desire to foster mid range in a competitive environment

Midrange has plenty of options these days. Auto rifles, Handcannons, Fusions and Sidearms are in a good spot. Snipers aren't as OP as Y1 or Y2. The meta itself is in a decent place as balance goes, barring a few exceptions (insane range on Lightning Grenades, Ghost Bullets on HC's, Rezsniping). It goes without saying Shotguns and Snipers would be most popular, as they can OHKO jusr about anyone. And that's the entire point of those weapons.
I would like to see rerolling come back. It's silly to have to hope for a godroll to be able to compete. I am glad all Trials weapons this time around have set rolls, and they are all good to amazing stats. It shouldn't be RNG to stay competitive.

I've mentioned it before, but I would love if Trials switched to a system where a loss would negate a win, but would not otherwise invalidate the card.
Lose at 8? Instead of scrapping the card and wasting an hour of your life, you would be knocked back to 7. You would still need to win consecutive matches against progressively tougher teams, but a loss would be a setback, not a run-ender. You would stay in roughly the same "difficulty bracket" until you can prove yourself better. There would never be a reason to not continue the card until the end.
Disconnects and red bar bullshit would be minor frustrations on the way to the Lighthouse, not fatal, uncontrollable barriers to victory.
I feel like since it requires having good timing/aim as well as drains your ammo (potentially all your ammo) that you shouldn't take damage when blocking with it.
