Rebecca Black: "Friday"

RicardoRicardo Registered User new member
Hey Everyone! In March, 2011, Rebecca Black's pop song, "Friday", became an instant internet sensation among the music and YouTube culture in the United States. As many of you have already viewed the video on YouTube, we can see the staggering amount of views the video has gained throughout the years! Although the song has been heavily criticized for Black's singing abilities and the noticeable use of auto tone, please take the time to read this post to learn how good this song is! Rebecca Black was just starting her singing career when "Friday" was released and following the release of the song, she was extensively bullied. Like most of us, we embark on certain careers or hobbies, whether it be creation of comic books or video games to even starting out to play a new sport. I'm sure none of us would like to be criticized and judged upon our first work. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the video or the song itself, Rebecca Black vocalizes her excitement of the week approaching Friday and the eagerness for the weekend. I mean who wouldn't be excited for the weekend? For those working all week and/or attending school, this song demonstrates the necessity to break away from all of that and simply enjoy the weekend before the same, monotonous routine repeats for the following week. Toward the end of the music video, Rebecca Black is surrounded by many friends as they begin to dance and clap along to the beat of the song.In the background there are party lights as the night of "fun, fun, fun" continues. In addition, the tune of the music and the repetition of the lyrics account for an extremely energetic atmosphere which further enhances Black's motive for a great weekend.
