My local best buy isn't carrying it. Big surprise there.
Yeah, mine isn't either, but the weird thing is that I actually checked the system last week and it showed that we had 4 copies on the way. I check again last night and see that we have none coming, nor do any of the Best Buy's in my area (but the item is still listed as "Active")
Went and snagged it from an EB today (haha fuck preorders are for chumps) and it's okay. I've already killed myself way too many times with my own spells and want bags like mono needs eve.

You know, people say this a lot. My store got 8 copies in. 6 were preorders. 4 of those preorders are for employees, and 2 for super awesome rpg regulars, so all will be picked up.

Those 2 extras are going to go fast. Oh well.
We had no extras, since several people preordered after it was shipped to us. Now I have to wait for our next shipment, since I was nice enough to sell my (preordered) copy to a couple of our regulars.

Yes, bags! I'm fairly certain you can buy them starting in Chapter 3. They're small at first, only able to hold 3 items, but 5 item bags soon become available for 20 more coins (the 3 item ones cost only 10).
Man, Chapter 4's boss kicked my ass so hard. 200 damage is painful when you only have 530 HP. It could've been helpful if I remembered to use a Painkiller beforehand to halve the damage I took. But it's a good thing i found a recpie for an item that restores 200 HP and only needs Material 0 and a Carrot-thing. And they come in sets of three when you synthesize them.
Beginning Chapter 5. I think there are 6 chapters per character. Soon, Cornelius. Soon.
The slowdown hasn't been much of a problem for me at all, and frankly if you're dying from "slowdown" it's probably the fact you're fighting more than you can handle than the fact the slow framerate makes you play poorly or something
uhhh I can't seem to continue my game? It's now telling me to make a Napalm potion, to use 2 materials and 1 onionne. Ok so...I go select 1 material, but the other one can't be selected? what's going on?
nevermind, I'm retarded. it's a Material 2, singular and not 2 materials
So, played the hell out of it last night. Some thoughts:
1: Crippling slowdown. Not in my game. I'm only through Chapter 2 but any slowdown is like I thought; It just slows down already hectic action so I can see what's happening. I appreciate that. And I had to LOOK to even notice there was slowdown. Actively search I'm talking here. The only place I can get it right now is in the Woods, fighting a horde of goblins and using Cyclone. Again, there may be a lot more later but I'm levelling in the Woods for awhile. Or at least until I can remember the jump button is X and not O.
2: Load times. Don't understand the bitching here either. 2 seconds max for every new stage, 5 max for boss stages. The graphics more then make up for it anyway. But I've never been bothered by load times except for in Blood Omen. I can see why they could get annoying if you hate them.
3: Animation pausing. Here's my bitch. Whenever I go into my inventory or use an item, the character goes through an animation. And when she's doing that I get bulldozed. If I have to use a healing item I have to find an out of the way spot. That's incredibly frustrating.
4: Money. Hard to get. Those chests that pop up last about a second or two. Why? Why vanish so fast? And why the hell do I have to hit them FOUR TIMES to open them, even the end stage chests? Christ on a pogo I hate that.
5: Lord above I suck at brawlers. The only way I could play worse is if I tried playing with my ass cheeks.
6: English voiceover is AWFUL. Bad enough to kill the neighbors.
I suck at alchemy. Can anyone help me out before I move on to the next stage?
I've got a half grown plant that needs some lovin. So I try to mix my Material lvl.10 with some Mandragoras I found so I can make something else and let the Phozon residue go to the plant.
Instead, the Material level goes up and nothing is created. That's good in the long run, but how do I actually make shit?
Remember you need to have found a recipie first before you can make something. You don't get to experiment. If you combine a material with anything not specifically stated in a recipie scroll it just ups the number of the material.

Howdy, MP.
Yeah, those chests vanish quick. You can open them with one hit, though, if you do the down+square attack.
I, too, suck at this game. I got my ass handed to me by the first mini-boss in the first chapter.
So I only had a chance to play for about an hour last night, but I can't seem to figure out how to go back a chapter, or to replay stages. I wanted to level up some more, and when I went to a previously cleared stage, it was still cleared. Then I accidentally went to the last boss in Chapter 1 before clearing a miniboss and therefore lost out on loot and whatnot.
Am I retarded, or missing something or perhaps because Chapter1 ends with the end of the battle, respawning enemies wouldn't make sense, eh?
Either way, good game, it's just taking me a bit of time to get used to the timing. You do leave yourself vulnerable when you go to use an item, and you can't just hit the spell or item button when you're in the middle of something else. You've got to wait until whatever you're doing finishes, then hit the button. This is realistic, but makes it hard for crazy button-mashers like myself with no skills to speak of.

There are no respawning enemies in Chapter 1 (that I found) and you can't replay Chapter 1, I think.
Chapter 2 has respawning enemies (not as many as the initial amount on each section but some) and is replayable. I've played it three times and SUCKED ON ALL OF THEM.

I mean if you leave a Sphere and come back. All the mini bosses have at least one recurring regular enemy and so far the major bosses do too. At least for most of the fight.
I go up to attack. HE HAS ARMOR YAY. I learn his tactics and am able to fight him and avoid most all of his attacks(if you get real close, he can't hit outside of his ground stomp or the jumping around thing).
He still gets me unexpectedly. I plant some stuff hoping the souls from his minions will feed it. Not enough. I'm down to 20 health and very little EXP left until next level. I eat a freaking Mandragora and I level up.
I swear I must have been blessed. I need to go farm for money in the Forest of Elrit(fuck that stupid snow place, FUCK IT WITH A RUSTY FORKED DILDO).
Do you guys have the painkiller recipe? Cuts damage by 50%, and each potion has 3 uses. Abuse that shit, they make the boss fights a lot less frustrating, and they're really easy to make.

Recipe:
Material[2] + Cubsbane or Carroteer
That's not really a spoiler. You can't make it until you find the recipie scroll anyway.
I seem to be further than most, so feel free to ask me questions if you're finding something difficult, I might have some tips.
Anyways, I'm having my own trouble on the Final Boss of Gwendolyn's Epilogue
The Queen of the dead is just kicking my ass. I use Overpower or whatever to get 2x damage and wail on her but she keeps going into spider form at 2/5-1/2 of her health and healing back thousands of HP at a time, I just can't keep up. Is there some trick to this boss? Also, good god I hope there aren't any bosses worse than this one slowdown-wise. Belial is nothing compared to this lady

I too am getting my ass handed to me by the Queen of the Dead. After losing, like, 4 times, I decided to exit the level to restock items and get some more Exp. for my spear and HP. There's a recipe that nets you a 500 and 300 HP restoring items, and it is Take-Out. Might have to buy a few of those.
Still doesn't help to counter her Spider Regeneration thing, but at least I can rely on something other than Napples for healing.
Edit: Oh yeah, Napalms deal around 800 damage per hit against her, for me at least. Must remember that.

You should not be relying on those for healing, OR leveling up at this point. That's not efficient.
Pause and select HOME. It's time for you to kick back and level grind. It should take no more than an hour. You need to do a few things. You need to make at least 3 batches of Heal Tonics and 2 batches of Painkillers. Take a close look at what you need for the good recipes in the cafe and restaurant and make the best ones you possibly can. They level you up quickly and boost you HP beyond what leveling up does. I was level 30 when I finished.
It doesn't take long because it becomes super easy to get S rankings everywhere you visited, getting you all kinds of money and items.
Just go all out all the time on her. Always have overload and painkillers up so the little flying souls don't hurt or stun. Equip whatever your highest + attack power charm is and just continually beat on her until your pow gets low, then absorb whatever souls you've got flying around. When she turns into a spider, just glide behind her and keep beating on her. With overload you should be able keep up with her healing. When she gets low, like 10%, chuck whatever napalms you've got (I had 1). This method worked way better than trying to dodge around and be tricky or any of that bullshit. Also, use a shine, that way the ghosts will always be corporeal near you.
I'm on Cornelius' 3rd chapter and man, the game really is bullshit sometimes. Still love it though. Also, cornelius plays so much better than Gwendolyn in my opinion. He seems to have a much shorter delay between his attacks. Now for some alchemy tips!
When you go to use a material, you'll notice a number in the ring that pops up when you use it. That number is the number of the material you're using. When you highlight the next item to use in a combination, a second number/letter will appear. If it's a number, that means that your combination will yield a material of that number. If it's a letter, that means you will get that alchemy outcome (p for painkiller, h for healing potions, etc.). The higher a material you can use to complete a recipe, the more phozons will be released by your alchemy (try a 10 with a carroteer, you'll get way more phozons than if you'd use a 0 like you normally do). Now you can tell just wtf you're going to make when you go to combine things! I am annoyed it took me til Gwen's epilogue to figure that out.

Use a Material 1 with a seed to get a Material 2.
Use a Material 2 with the Onionne to produce a Napalm Potion.
Not only was my copy only going to ship on the 29th, but now its being delayed. This does not bode well for my future acquisition of this game.
today
to reward myself
it'd be the first ps2 buy in a while

Gloriosky, Sandy
Buh? The game said they'll drop the chests if you beat them fast. That's seeming to hold true for my game anyway.
So, when do Mandragoras start popping up? Are they in Gwendolyn's first chapter?
No, second. The woods. I've seen Onionnes, Carroterra and some black ones. I forget the name.
