The only way I can see Sym being an actual problem is possibly on console, where her auto-aim and skinny hitbox give her a lot more of an advantage when fighting.
On PC, she's only feels lopsided when a team spends most of the match ignoring her and not paying attention for turrets. There's a good 4-5 characters that swat her turrets down without a problem and most or all of them can handily defeat Sym in 1v1.
the problem is people not being able to aim well enough to beat her in 1v1s, the turrets don't really enter into the equation at all
Yeah, it all pretty much comes down to her weapon's auto aim and the fact that she herself is so small an hard to hit.
There is definitely an oh crap factor when Sym locks on that makes it a challenge to properly respond.
Nine times out of ten, the best thing to do is escape, not try to find and then try to shoot the crazy-thin scarecrow randomly hopping around you in the 2-3 seconds you have before you're melted.

I'd rather it had a set amount of damage it could absorb personally. A time limit makes it awkward to play around for both teams. For example having the attacking team holding back for twenty seconds so they don't have to deal with it on the next push.

I'm 98% certain that I was crushed by one like a week ago.

It was very traumatic and upsetting.
I thought it was going to be PoTG material. An enemy mercy rezzing 4 of her people on the point and me jumping on the point with a death blossom the second that it completed and killing them all again. Instead it was me jumping on the point death blossoming, getting knocked into the pit (in temple on Nepal) and falling to my death. I still registered as getting 4 kills (maybe 3 since one was just the DVa mech).
The Dva's kill cam was literally her jumping into her mech and then getting immediately kicked back out of it when it reached max damage. They probably didn't even realize what happened.
It managed to be funny only because we maintained control of the point and won, otherwise I'd be pissed (Death blossom should have killed her before she could even reach her mech).

60 seconds is nowhere near long enough to make it worth hunting down. If a flanker gets through they're going to spend 30 seconds finding the thing to begin with.
I just want to apologize for ranting in here so often. It's not fair to you guys.
I don't think the game is far from immune from criticism (if anything, the greatness of some of its elements make its shortcomings even more painful) so it's perfectly natural for people to be disappointed with a product they're passionate about
Playing Lucio on Ilios, a hog thought he would troll me by hooking me into the pit and letting me fall. He was standing right at the edge, however, so I just wallrode back out and booped him in instead.

Yeah, I've found that you just need to focus and shoot them dead. For example when Tracer annoys you as zenyatta, just focus and give her a good head shot

I did my last 4-5 boxes last night since the Arena reset before the event ended. Got most of the skins but I missed out on Nutcracker, Elf Tracer, and Santa Torb. It's cool that you can buy Legends, but hot damn is 3k expensive. I'd rather spend the money on three or four epics than one legendary.
I spent coins on Pharah, McCree, and Widow's intro as well as a handful of sprays. I couldn't bring myself to pay for yeti Winston but got lucky with my last box.

Seems like this was still going for this morning. I went in and managed to squeek out another box. I got like, no skins at all from this, I bought the Mcree skin just because I don't like any other ones he has.
Last box gave me the holiday reaper skin. I guess that will do. Its one of the better skins overall imo. Still I got none of the good ones. No nutty, no mei, no torb or winston or tracer. No sym or widow intro.
The best thing I got from this event was the non holiday legendary skin for Zarya. The actual good one, so that wasn't a loss. I had that in beta so its nice to have it back.
(( My big pulls were Scrooge McDuck McCree, Mercy Mistletoe vpose, Mei's "Man's Inhumanity to Snowman" emote, all four Toasts, a Genji's and Symmetra's voicelines, and frozen Reaper.
To be honest, the only thing I'm bummed about not getting is Yeti Winston. Jingle Tracer didn't appeal to me that much, and Nutyatta still doesn't appeal to me more than his Ascendant skin. And frozen Pharah would have no chance of being used over Mechaqueen. All in all, I'm fairly happy with what I got.

I was looking through what I wanted to get before the event ended last night, and one thing I never noticed because she rarely gets them, is that Ana's POTG highlight intros are fantastic. God forbid they give it to her one game instead of Turd 76 because he vultur'd someone else's kills yeah I said it what wanna fight about it?

All of 76's PotG intros are terrible too. At least Widow has a good one now.
I really wanted the Winston Yeti, not cause I play him a lot, but because I can use it year 'round.
Didn't have a lot of Overwatch time during this event (Yule, work, New Year, relatives, etc.) but really liked the Mystery arcade mode. And the extra box for 3 wins really helped out.
Well, it didn't because I didn't get Winston's skin. But I did manage to get Torb's event skin.
I thought I'd log on to my GF's account and get her 6 free boxes, in case she ever starts playing Overwatch (she wont).
First box has a Winston Yeti. FML. There was another gold in her boxes that I wanted, but can't remember which one.
Next day, since the event was supposed to end while I was still stuck at work, I bought 24 Winter loot boxes.
Got home and did some unboxing... Sooooo many duplicates, and no Winston. (No Tracer, Mei or Lúcio either.) Couple of cool intros and poses but only great get was Widow's mistletoe.
The Yeti suit is cool, but not 3k cool. So I went for the Phara and Reaper event skins, and the Roadhog<->Junkrat sprays.
The event was supposed to be over, or end soon, so I did some Mystery arcade before it's all over.
Got a couple of boxes. Winston Yeti get.

Is there a formula for POTG? Because a Widow who 100% kills someone and then three seconds later 75% kills someone did more than a loser 76 who got three 40% kills just on numbers alone.

60 seconds is nowhere near long enough to make it worth hunting down. If a flanker gets through they're going to spend 30 seconds finding the thing to begin with.

And I want to apologize to everyone I play with for constantly complaining about Ana and Zarya
but they do still need nerfs
