I havent really played Trials since December... Since then my recently acquired God roll matador has been made obsolete by the new sidearm meta, my beloved Grasp of Malok has been neutered and Truth is dead in the water.
I could roll with Blind Perdition, Ironwreath-D and Nemesis Star I guess? Its just not the same and Trials is sweatier than ever, as per usual.
So my Destiny playtime has probably gone down with 80%, to a single sunday raid per week.
Regardless of meta shake-ups and balancing hijinx, the game is still just straight-up fun to play. Even from a PvE perspective and during a content drought, you still sometimes get crazy moments. For example, this save on Vosik challenge yesterday when both safe rooms were on the right side.

Bungie is so bad at this. Instead of admitting a mistake with their patch, they try to save face by buffing things they nerfed, nerfing things they (implicitly) buffed, and negatively affecting PvE with PvP-oriented changes.
They don't care. They have no reason to. People will still play the game.

With basically not much else to do anyway, and then all this dumb shit going on, I see no reason to play, especially once ME:A drops
While some people will leave and not come back, and some people will largely stop playing, people will still be around. There are a lot of die-hard Destiny fans.
ME: A is a third person shooter. Destiny is a first person shooter. The preference for one over the other in and of itself is a large factor in retention.

Supremacy was a total blast as a fusion aficianado since it was largely populated by terrible shotgun apes, but I'm guessing it'll be far less infuriating now with all the special ammo changes.

Also found out last night that with a little dipping and dodging the Hawkmoon does have enough bullets in the magazine to kill a dude out of Stormtrance without reloading. That was a very tense 7 seconds.

But I still don't have Necrochasm, Outbreak Prime, Dark Drinker, Nova Mortis/Abbadon, Ace of Spades, Tlaloc, Immobius, Fabian Strategy or Boolean Gemini

I think that the quality of Supremacy matches has vastly improved post secondary nerf.
I still need to get a Khostov, Outbreak Prime, Thorn 2.0 and whatever the fourth quest exotic is.

Necrochasm I can understand. I've run Crota's End HM something like 47 times (according to Destiny Tracker) and received exactly one Crux of Crota. Outbreak Prime though. You used to Sunday Best with us all the time. Did you stop before Wrath of the Machine HM?

Supremacy might be my favorite game mode, actually. (Might be Control, though.) The way I play involves me running right along a 1.0 KDR, and Supremacy allows me to die near teammates and not really hurt our score often. I'm an assist machine, so I also like going up and grabbing three crests for someone else and helping the team out without necessarily getting the kills myself.

Oh, so Jason Schreier, the Kotaku reporter that covers Destiny and has talked at length about accurate leaks and all sorts of behind-the-scenes info, is putting out a book.
Looks like it'll go more into what it was like at Bungie during the creation of Destiny.
Thank you for sharing this. I've heard good things about Schreier's ethics and diligence as a reporter, and I'd love to hear the stories behind the development of some of these games, so this just became a must-read for me.
Edit: I see that it comes out in September. Might be the perfect pre-Destiny 2 read. Then again, if it comes out after Destiny 2 launches, I guess I'm reading it in like 2020.
If you can get some bodies together, I think I'm on step 6 of 9 for the OP (On a Titan) and could probably be convinced to get on sometime to lend a hand. It'd likely be next week though, I'm on some training Sat-Wed that will be consuming all of my time.
We should definitely set up an Outbreak Prime series of raids for people that don't have one, I'd be on that in a heartbeat.

If it's the first step, you don't have to be fireteamed up. Running strikes or crucible with randoms counts as long as there's one of each on the team.
