You know a cynical part of me wonders if they pushed Banner out for next week with the hope of delaying even more "bleed" from Horizon coming out and giving people another reason to not play as much ~
Well I mean, it's likely more to stem the flood of vitriol about the last patch
Plus they'll probably lose more people to Mass Effect
I'd argue that IB will probably increase the amount of vitriol as it tends to have the highest amount of people that don't regularly pvp, pvping. Those guys that don't follow reddit or stay up to date on all the bits of the game are gonna jump into IB and probably be rather put out. I mean IB is when most of the bitching comes out of the woodwork anyways, I just figure it will amplify it as some people "suffer" through.
I'm looking forward to Mass Effect multiplayer, hilariously fun co-op. Less hilariously fun packs o' random stuff.
What I meant was, it gives them more time to fix the issues before sending everyone back into IB with a bunch of funky nerfs and such, which would piss folks off even more as is

Bungie or perhaps more accurately - The Live Team doesnt seem interested in fixing issues.
They seem interested in PvP nerfs above everything else.
It was kind of funny that what they meant when they said "We will fix a sample platter of Exotics" a couple of weeks ago, just meant straight up nerfing a bunch of them. (No Land Beyond soon as well.)
Did they look at Astrocyte Verse's exotic perk that doesnt do anything? No.
Did they look at The Stag's exotic perk that barely does anything? No.
All I ask is for a reason to wear Eternal Warrior, any reason at all.
Edit: Also, had a real good night with Mida last night, I've had that gun all wrong. @ElementWrath finally got to see me play good so maybe now he doesn't think I'm such a complete scrublord.

This thing finally dropped for me from a Nightfall we did while waiting for more people to show up to raid with.
Zhalo Supercell and Stormcallers are pretty awesome for Crota's End, especially the Labyrinth, 280 kills throughout.
No deaths, so Flawless Raider... Again. (We did this for the first time a few years back.)
All in all, good fun... Even the time where the "Drop" at the beginning of Crota's End killed @Arteen for no apparent reason other than he probably deserved it.

Its unfortunately not without precedence that Bungie will figure out a PvP nerf that will ruin your gun before Destiny 2 even comes out.
I've had a few great PvE guns ruined by PvP changes.
I don't know why they don't/can't balance PvE and PvP separately (and maybe they do, so correct me if I'm wrong). I remember when they beefed up Shotguns to be way awesome in PvE, and they were SO fun and effective - and then they dialed 'em wayyy back for the sake of PvP balance, which was hot garbage.

Supposedly it's how they built the system. Let's hope the rebuild for Destiny 2 removed this silliness.
The design intent, that a weapon that handles like x in PvE should handle like x in PvP is alright in theory but the needs are so completely different they should have some ability to separate the two. Even if it is just damage scaling.

Some games have the infrastructure and/or manpower to build, track and maintain two (or three) sets of stats for weapons. A good recent example of this happening and being corrected would be Warframe, where having realized that nobody likes the PVP because it was terribly unbalanced mess, split the stats for their guns (actually everything else in the game too) into PVP and PVE versions, and maintain those balances seperately. The PVE and Co-OP PVE components of Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer is a good example, as is... well there's tons of examples of PVE driven content that maintains a different set of rules, etc for PVP or other mode content too.
Why they didn't design and develop their system that way... who knows.

Some of the most fun I've ever had in Destiny was a shotguns only (as much as possible) run though Vault of Glass. When they made shotguns basically useless in PvE was a sad goddamn day.

I know they've said a few times that they don't want weapons to "feel different" in PvP versus PvE, that they want everything to be a unified whole. But the Crucible already feels wildly different. Guardians move, act, and react in ways wildly divergent from NPC enemies, both in terms of game mechanics and the fact that they're human-controlled. There's no reason they shouldn't balance accordingly.
The Skorri nerf feels especially egregious; it seems like they changed it not just for PvP balance, but for Trials in particular, a game mode frequented by a fraction of a percentage of the player base. I mean, should I even use Skorri in a Raid anymore, or will I be better served by Gheleon?
I wouldn't be opposed to having 2-pages on your weapons. One for PVE stats and one for PVP stats. Hold R2 for PVP stats. They could make so many unique and crazy and badass PVE weapons.
I haven't used any relic other than Radegast in so long, I probably won't notice. For general purpose PvE I like the radar one sometimes, but that messes up my stat distributions, usually.
The main time that you want Skorri's in PvE is before a boss after people have changed sub-classes (when there are no mobs to kill) so it makes it basically worthless for raiding. Maybe there are groups that coordinate their supers more tightly than my groups do, but everyone I raid with is familiar with the rhythm of encounters and uses their supers at generally set times. It's rare to worry about Super recharge rate being faster by sticking near an ally when you've already been sitting on it for the last minute waiting on that Captain to spawn.

I get their idea. I don't PvP that regularly but was fairly skilled at it just because of all the time I logged in PvE. Guns shot where I expected at roughly the ranges I expected and so on. That has some value but it has significant costs when PvE stuff has to be nerfed into the ground because of the PvP meta.

The nerf to Skorri was definitely because of Trials, while its an understandable nerf in that environment, why the fuck does it have to affect me during WotM raids?
By the way, I should say that I agree with Bungie in theory; it's probably going to feel better if your guns aren't drastically different in usefulness between PvE and PvP, and you don't want them to feel different by tweaking fire rates, distance dropoff, accuracy, or anything like that, so really you're just tweaking damage values... what I'm saying is that I agree with Bungie, except that they keep getting it so wrong.
Is Destiny 2 here yet? It feels so far off, but I also know that when we get that first info dump, this thread is going to be an electric eel on fire.
Destiny 2 had better be some kind of special, or they are probably going to find themselves with far less of a player base than they had at the height of D1. If it feels anything like an expansion and not a new experience with substantive changes to the play (so long as that play includes the fantastic-feeling gunplay), it's going to be a sad reveal. (For me.)

I'm curious to see what they do because I want it to be fresh and new and not just like some super expansion, but I also want it to feel like Destiny because that's the game I love. I don't think they could really change the alien races up too much without breaking lore, and same with the player classes, unless they put in some decent time gap or something.
Just have to wait and see

I'd very much like to see more alien races, with more variety among the currently existing ones, and I would like portions of the story to take place on Extrasolar planets, because confining yourself to our solar system seems like such a waste.
As far as existing races, maybe D2 will have some sort of Darkness power up so that fighting the Fallen or Vex will be pretty different than it was before.
Or maybe they'll go the Halo route and make fighting a Captain pretty similar throughout the whole series.

I'm hoping for a PC release for D2.
Other than that. . . hm,
Larger zones, you could really tell they were hamstrung by the previous gen of consoles.
Better group/clan systems. Maybe give clans their own spaces ala Warframe's Dojos.
I dunno, just more and bigger. There are some very obvious areas they can easily improve on, but I've never been one who delved too deep in to the nuts in bolts of things so I can't really comment on particular mechanics.
Though I do agree that D2 will have to bring its A game. I think any scent of "super expansion" will probably do more harm than it might legitimately deserve.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
They had a really good chance to bring in new aliens when Taken King came out. You're telling me that a billion year old entity that has consumed whole worlds is just using what he found here? Cheap.
Is Eyasluna still a thing? I got that one last night. It has been working pretty great and the life support has actually saved my bacon more than once in Crucible.
