Also known as Literally The Best Mage BSB In The Game Even In JP to Date, or as close to the best as makes no difference. Most bosses are Earth neutral and it's quite easy to get her to the 6 hit cap if you have a synergy mage weapon. You don't even need a mage party, just a 30% ATK/MAG buff.
So yeah, that's a good draw.
Edit: also one of the highest if not the highest damage output BSBs for the Torment difficulty 200/250s.

edit: also, she can't use thrown, so nearly all of my magic synergy weapons aren't equippable. did i say 400 magic, i meant 350 magic. zzzz.

Man, that's kinda is crazy. I got Ashe's BSSB and shuffled my whole team around to bring on Ramza so I could native shout to rw a magic buff because her stuff is better than decent. Damage is damage.
Physical Damage isn't a slim niche. It's the vast majority of teams.
edit: whatever, you can wish you got it all you want, but i'd trade it for lightbringer or excalibur in a heartbeat and never look back. I will never, ever, use it outside of FF2.
i gave up on making an elemental team after pulling some 800+ mythril into a few different holy effects and got none of them. also 400 of that mythril was on a banner with a 30% mag buff and didn't get that either, kek.
it's never going to happen ever. the luck you need to make a coherent elemental team is a whole universe away from mine. the sum total of all my enelement or imperil items is an enwind physical SSB on a character that can't LS it or exploit it with skills, and now an enearth BSB on a character who has no support to actually make it do damage. that's it. oh i also got that stupid hauberk for Garland, hot hot endark. at least he can LS it and use it twice to do sort of decent damage (except all the FF12 bosses i wanted to use it on were all immune to dark because FFRK is a dick)
edit: anyway just drop it. i'm incredibly disappointed and you're not going to convince me be happy for a relic i don't want for a game i don't like, no matter how many Japanese streamers use it to beat things.
So I saved my Onion Knight pulls because I thought the OK and Luneth BSBs would be on the BSB banner. Not only are they not, Kain and Rydia's are not either. Also the banner is full price. Well whatever, still worth it.
First up the alt account:
BSB banner - 3/11 - Terra, Balthier and Rikku
OK banner - 1/11 - FFXIV dagger
OK banner - 2/11 - Ingus Shield and Arc Robe
So interesting results. Terra's is fairly weak, and I have little to nothing to support mages on this account. Balthier's is aggressively mediocre, but if Blind is applicable it's reasonable. Rikku's is the only imperil water available as far as I know, and Rikku herself is very flexible. ATK/DEF mug isn't bad, and the other command can possibly stun. Certainly serviceable and nice to have more BSBs. The FFXIV dagger was a huge disappointment, and the second pull continues my theme of drawing armor and medicas primarily. Arc's White Mage Robe is pretty baller, at least.
Next the main account:
BSB banner - 2/11 - Penelo and Ramza
OK banner - 4/11 - Ingus Shield, Arc Staff, Arc Robe and Onion Gauntlets
Alrighty then, this is pretty sweet. Penelo's BSB is kind of a weird one, but might just convince me that it's time to beat up the White Mage Nightmare Dungeons. Ramza's BSB isn't anything special, but once again my Ramza will be complete so that's cool. The OK banner draw was plain insanity, and while I had budgeted for two draws I am stopping at one because seriously I got what I wanted. Ingus Shield is whatever, not too enthused about it. Arc's Staff is nice enough, and is a great synergy item, though I do feel the soul break on this one is better as a RW. Arc's White Mage Robe is crazy pants good, though. And then there is the Onion Knight BSB, which is the holy grail of the banner. Super pleased about this one, and I'll almost certainly be switching my RW to OK BSB after I get him to a point where he isn't completely useless (don't yet have his MC3, will later on today though).
So my alt account toils along in a weird place where I can clear basically everything, but I keep missing out on the things I want the most. My main is unbelievably lucky and while I would love to have OK's sword or Luneth's spear, I see no reason to do any more draws due to getting 2 of the 3 items I really wanted (OK's sword is good and all, but not a priority more of a cool to have thing) in one pull.

Only got one. It was Minwu's which is odd it seems. Instant cast Curaja seems cool I guess. I haven't ever out a high premium on Insta cast heals but I might be under valueing them. Magic/mind break I am not certain what to make of. The break is pretty small, but it's one of the very few ways to break mind at all. Last fight I can think of that it would be useful on absorbed Holy though. What a bizarre mix of effects.
Chrisnl posting motivated me to take a stab at the OK1 banner because hey he got pretty lucky!
I got both of Arc's blinks. His robe and staff or whatever. Lust dagger (boo) and wheee OK gauntlets. I can now forever more throw Ramza in the trash where he belongs and run any kind of party.
Totally worth the draw and I don't even feel bad about spending the mythril I keep telling myself I'm saving for FFXIV banner.

Duplicate Masamune-Shinuchi (Sephiroth)
Sun Blade (II) for Firion.
Oh well, it's not Ashe's BSB which is what I really want but a 5+ Katana is something I will not turn down. Nor will I turn down a Holy damage up to 8 hit burst command which will synergise well with Chain Limit Breaks later on. And oh hey, the second command is like Chain Starter and is a 4 hit. You know, this will probably push Firion into the very crowded Team Omega for when I absolutely must brute force a boss. Oh and Magic Blink. Can't forget that. Which means Y'shtola no longer needs to feel inadequate compared to Selphie.
Oh and the Sun Blade is also a 131 ATK sword with zero synergy AND holy boost. So it's a good stat stick.

Taking a look at Firion's selection, I see that he can use virtually any weapon, which means if I have a synergy weapon, he can use it.
Native 5* Combat, Samurai, Sharpshooter which means he's now my go-to SAM aside from Sephiroth and most certainly my Sharpshooter for some odd reason...
I can feasibly take him with Dragoon's Det, Mirror of Equality and a 30% Boostga on RW (like OK's) and he'll self-boost to x2 for the buff soft cap then destroy shit with his burst commands. Yeah, I see options for him. Am I missing anything in particular?
Instant cast heals are pretty great, I used Yuffie's 40% one for a very long time. I'm undecided on which medica I want to use the majority of the time on my main account now, because Relm's is awesome with the regen, but Arc's is instant and also has physical blink. Physical blink might not be quite as useful as magical blink, but on some fights it is very, very good. Think things like that Sephiroth fight with the scripted giant physical AOE, or really any fight with DEF ignoring attacks.
I just realized Arc's staff is my first magical blink, so that is pretty cool. Really Arc with both the staff and robe is pretty flexible, you could theoretically start him with Mako Might for the staff SSB, which saves you from bringing Shellga and gives heavy regen and magic blink, and then towards the later parts of the fight you should have the instant curaga medica ready to go.
Now if these stupid dragons will drop the rest of the OK motes I'll be extra happy. I've fully dived OK's magic side so far, just need 6 more to do the physical side (I should have enough regular motes since I haven't spent any 4* motes before just now and I've completed all of the Mote Dungeons to date).

If you did the math, you'd see that Maria can hit 400 mag easy just with the bow and a synergy accessory alone, and with 400 mag she can get 5 hits with her burst with a atk/mag RW. But if you want to be angry about it, I can't stop you. Sorry you're bummed out over it.

And I have a +holy rod and robe/shield to abuse Hope's BSB
Beatrix/Ashe/Noel/OK seems to cover all the primary things. I can RW wall or bring Y'shtola. Really the entire reason I'm hoarding mythril is hoping for her BSSB. But in the mean time Garnet or Arc might actually be better choices.
I figure I need some kind of healer. Garnet I have her ssb and BSSB. So there is a pretty compelling reason. Arc would bring both types of blink, though. Also insta Curaja or heavy Regen.
What I would give for a sixth character slot. Curses.

I don't think it would be sensible to save for another stab at OK 1 since I have 3 items from the banner and chasing 2% is folly
No, better to just suck it up and RW OK BSB while I save for Minfilia 1
1/11: Garland's Ogrekiller.
Certainly disappointing to go 1/11 on this of all banners, and the one isn't the most exciting, but a few things would certainly be worse. En-element BSBs will always be powerful, and dark is an element that I will probably always be short on.

It's a great BSB, anything with enelement and commands that abuse the element is good enough to build a team around
Full price is disappointing, but I guess I can bank on being lucky and either getting a little more mythril or being lucky on a pull again. Or skipping TGCid since it really is kind of hard to justify chasing one of his relics when I already have solid stuff for nearly everyone else on that banner. So...

Not thrilled with the white mage ones since I already had solid medicas for them and two recent powerful white mage BSB/SSBs on characters who I've already MC3 broken. Hell, I probably won't even use Penelo's BSB ever since War Dance's healing is only slightly worse and I still don't have jack for mage relics period, so the Mag/Mnd is wasted on me. At least I got Firion's... long after the fact.

Once en and imperil element became common the game shifted pretty hard into stacking elements and abusing that.
Still hugely meta in Japan with the new difficulty stuff and multi and all that.
Also why mote fights and other 'challenging' content is often trivialized by bringing an elemental team.
