I went for a run the other night at 7:30pm at night and it was still 98F.

You also had to fend off the wild animals too, right? Australia scares me.
I'm kidding about the wild animals part. Not about Australia scaring me.

Hah yea, deadly spiders everywhere! Not to mention all those kangaskhans!

I finally caught 2 snorlaxes this weekend! First time I had ever seen them too. First one was 900 with zen headbutt earthquake and the second 400 with lick hyperbeam. Not great IVs on either. I'm quite low on dust so itll be an effort but these guys are worth it right?

Lick Hyperbeam is the current best move combo, and that on it's own means that it'll be a force to reckon with in gyms despite the IVs, but it's gonna take a lot of work to get that CP into a usable range.

If you are really jonesing for some Snorlax Action, here's what I'd do: start the grind, but don't spend any of your stardust / candies on it until it's 100% ready to go. It'll take a while, but hopefully by then you will have found a new Snorlax that doesn't have such lackluster IVs so that your work will really pay off.

Whelp, event is over. Back to nothing but endless pidgeys and ratattas... *sigh* Can they just make every week an event? "Professor Willow has discovered that it's actually Dratini mating season so there will be lots of Dratinis or something!"

Once these dumb eggs hatch I'll probably go back to not really playing anymore until the next thing happens.

I finally did find a few charmanders in the event, but not until yesterday. This event sucked. It was still pidgeys for days. Their "increased spawn rate" must have been like 1% more than normal, or some ridiculously low amount. Got two charmanders from the event in a week's time. Never saw a Squirtle ever. Saw a bunch of Bulba's, but I always see a bunch of Bulba's even when there isn't an event so that isn't anything special.

Overall, their execution of the Christmas and New Year's events was abysmal and shitty.

Yeah I found a handful but not *that* many. I mostly found squirtles which I already had almost enough candies for anyways. I really needed bulbasaurs and charmanders and those seemed much rarer.

I wonder if they just jacked up spawn rates based on area, so since I uncommonly find Squirtle here already I was seeing a ton suddenly. For you it was Bulbasaur instead.

I got plenty of all three in my area, but I probably got twice as many Bulbasaur as the other two. Which is the way it's always been.

I never even noticed the "event". Supposedly increased starter spawns, right? Not around here. According to my pokedex, I've _seen_ a total of 14 bulbasaur, 12 charmander, and 15 squirtle.

I saw way more of everything, but still not enough bulbasaur to get a venusaur. I completed the other two with only having to evolve a charmeleon. I found a charizard in my back yard, and got a blastoise months ago randomly. Caught two wartortles during the event so didn't need to evolve any of the squirtle line.

I went to Disneyland on Saturday and saw a bulbasaur, squirtle, and charmander all standing together, on three overlapping lured stops while getting off the tram. That place is crazy for pokemon hunting.

It was pretty different around where I am. I went from having caught maybe 1 or 2 of each starter to 43 bulbasaurs, 35 charmanders and 62 squirtles. Enough for 1 venusaur, 1 charizard and 2 blastoise (I had a squirtle as a buddy for a while). Some days though there was no change, other days it was just starter central.

Kinda in this same boat. It's too cold to walk outside to get stuff. And I'm nearly full on my Pokedex so I won't really run into anything that I need. I may login to check the nests but that's about it.

  • TDawgTDawg Registered User regular
Yeah, I had noticeable starter spawns, even over New Years when I went with friends to a semi-rural (town with pop. 1,000) cabin so I could show the city kids what snow looked like the town had a few Pokestops and plenty of Charmander and Bulbasaur. It's a shame that not everybody experienced it but I had a great time!

So I think my instinct crew got ourselves a troll?

Somebody with a level 10 account named "yumyumfreecoin" keeps kicking people out of the 10th slot of our gyms and replacing it with a 10-40 CP joke Pokémon. We're not totally sure but it looks like some butthurt Mystics realized they couldn't take and hold gyms in the neighborhood so they've taken to denying us slots in our gyms. Preeeeeetty lame.

Guess this is when you know you've made it...?

I got a ton of starters in the event. Went from never having seeing a Charmander or Bulbasaur (and only 2 Squirtles) to having the first evolved forms of all of them and another 30 or so candies in the bank towards their third levels. I thought it was great!

  • DyasAlureDyasAlure SeattleRegistered User regular
I was able to get a good IV Squirtle, and evolved to the blastoise. I have a good IV Charmander to make a charizard eventually. I will say though. I got no good bulbasaur. For every 6 squirtles, I got 3 charmanders, and 1 Bulbasaur. Obviously I'm close to a volcano or something.

One thing I noticed though, I have 6 rapidash. That is a lot of Ponyta's to catch, and easier to catch than any of those starters. Those starters ate more balls, ran away more, and were more annoying than anything. And, all of them are not good in gyms anyway, so why?

I'm going to stick with doing my mile loop in the park daily, get what rare is there, and move on. I did get a good Scyther though. I have been driving past a park that has one spawn.

I'm playing, just not a lot to discuss.

I go to work, on my way home I stop by a pokestop, catch a few Pokemon, etc. Over the weekend I'll stop by the park and actually play for a while, maybe take down a gym, etc.

I still play. I found a nice loop near my house that hits 7 gyms with about 5km round trip, so usually hatch an egg or two as well. Getting some exercise in the process (which I really needed to do anyway).

Supposed to be warm today (high of 63, whaaaat) so I'm debating going out. I might go out for a walk on lunch.

Or I might stay in and play some games at my desk.

I had a site visit in the South Bay yesterday and Holy Bulbasaurs, Batman! Without even trying I literally -doubled- my Bulbasasur count. Those guys were EVERYWHERE!!

I hope this is the case for me. I need them - there are none here (I've mostly gotten candies thanks to the buddy system, but it's so slow to get 125 or so that way). I'd also like to see a Tangela just once... I mean, I only need one. I have never seen one :(

But yes, it's also stupid cold out so I'm not likely to do much hunting either.

Yeah for me it was especially cold around that time so it was like, why would I want to go out?

Honestly, I don't like so many holidays clustered in the winter that require a lot of activity. Feels like another "we live in California so we don't understand that is sucks going outside in -20 degree weather..." thing.
