Apparently vacation with the fam has revitalized me. I went from being super excited about my first Blackout win not long ago, to winning my second while I couldn't sleep the night before traveling, to winning 3 in one day after getting home late last night. A few other 2nd and 3rds that were damn close too.
This mode remains the most interesting fps experience I've had in years. Thankfully the shakey hands seem to have gone away, but it remains tense every time.
Dang, if the rumors and "leaks" are true, Hijacked as well as Outrider returning from BLOPS3 are part of DLC1, which means I wont get either of those =/
The next Zombies map appears to be old west themed or something and might have Kiefer Sutherland as a cowboy guy, and Tywin Lannister looking like some kind of butler.

Hijacked is in blackout. The new specialist is unlocked at tier 1 of the new contraband set. 3 new weapons in the first 100 tiers of the contraband thing (not behind exorbitantly priced special orders, which I had guessed/feared they would be). First 100 contraband tiers are set items, after that it's random reserve items. All seem like good directions to be taking.

The update is adding custom games to Blackout - I know someone here had been hoping for that.
Also adding an armor repair system, some environmental changes, balancing of the SDM and Spitfire, a new 2 person armored vehicle with a mounted machine gun, and the ability to throw snowballs. So, really, all bases covered :P

I took a bit of a break from CoD when BFV came out. Went back to try some hardcore the other day and it was back to back to back blatant hackers I guess they all go to hardcore because you can't record their obvious ESP-use via kill cams.

The new Black Market is pretty nicely stocked. Besides the new specialist right away there are a couple of Blackout characters that come up later on, a decent number of special weapon camos and reactive camos, a ridiculous mastercraft ABR that looks like it has little airplanes on the sides of the barrel, and some camos for specialists that are medieval knight inspired. At tier 100 you get the new AR, which hasn't felt all that great to me in Blackout so far.
The new specialist is unlocked for Blackout immediately, as is Reaper. Gas stations now have Christmas music playing inside. The armor repair system is great - quick and the armor plates don't take up backpack slots.
Anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt, but I felt like I punched through armor quicker on a couple matches last night. But again, that's impression rather than fact.

The map update is great, Factory now has a lot more going for it; there's supply crates on top of the previously closed off buildings. Even just the foilage change makes everything seem different. An evolving map is my fav aspect of Fortnite, something Pubgs lacks, so really stoked to see Treyarch going that direction
Tier 50 for the new smg. Also, I'll take these tiers over ludicrously expensive special orders or supply drops any day. It's not a great system but at least it gives you stuff for playing the game.

Plus Tier 100 is (for me) totally achievable by game time alone this round: I was playing often the last event/season (except for update days, because I would much rather spend my gaming time downloading a 15G patch than playing your dumb game /s) and I barely made it over Tier 100 (I ended at 110 or something?); I am already at Tier 5 after a single night's mans-shooting, plus the Daily Tier Skip will make it that much easier to fill those bars

In Blackout, the new AR just feels like the Maddox 2.0. It's nice at short to medium range, but not what you want to kill someone at any kind of longer range whatsoever.
The new SMG is fun. The first time I got into a gunfight with one, I didn't know it was a burst fire gun. I was just sitting there holding down the fire button like, "WHAR bullets?! WHAR?!" Somehow managed to process things and fire a few more bursts in time to barely survive.
She has an emp grenade and her ult makes it so you can't use equipment, scorestreaks, ults, it messes up your minimap, and does something to active scorestreaks too but I'm not sure if it destroys them or steals control of them. Pretty annoying to play against, and everyone is using her atm.
Edit: icepick destroys high streaks (thresher, drone squad, gunship), steals others (sentries, choppers, uavs etc), plus I think steals equipment like mines and barriers, plus you can't heal for the 30 seconds it's up. She generally gets 2 a match, so that's 4 a match right now since every lobby is max zeros.
My brother gave me a $50 psn card for my birthday so I played a bunch of the new maps last night they seem good! Both deviate from the standard 3 lane format somewhat. Seem like worthy additions to the lineup.
Alright, this new contraband event is seeming a lot better than the garbage one at launch. New specialist that is also instantly unlocked in Blackout is pretty sweet, and two new guns. Also the other Specialist skins they got in there actually look pretty cool instead of the boring, lazy shit from before. Particularly that Firebreak skin.

People are upset. But I find her hilarious (plus it's not like I'm earning big score streaks anyhow). I think they kind of missed the boat to go even further here, by having her nullify any specialist with electronic equipment, too (looking at you, Prophet mains).
Prophet's roomba is ridiculously useless if you run engineer. You can see it coming and avoid it, or just be ready to instantly press that button to pull the plug. Sorry shithead, no free headshot for you.
My problem is that I like to primarily play Hardcore, but also play as Battery. An unsurprisingly high amount of pubbies will watch me throw a cluster grenade into a room, and still run in there...

Do you have to hold a button or something for ice pick? There was a snipers nest coming in and I pulled it out, but she kind of just moved her finger around until putting it away and nothing happened. Was hoping she'd get a specialist training thing in the HQ, but I guess that's too much work for a small indie team like Treyarch :P
Can't set her as your showcase character either, which sucks cause I dig her look. There's actually stuff in the black market that's tempting to buy now too. Zero's Sultana skin looks rad.

I really like Zero, though! EMP grenades were my jam in BLOPS2, so that's a plus. Ice Pick is pretty cool, and the enemy team can see where you are after you use it so it's pretty fair. I actually hadn't played in a while, but I came back pretty strong in all my games so far. Just had a game on Firing Range where I went 15-3. I am currently ranking up the Titan though, so that helps.
Some thoughts!: Friendly fire in Hardcore needs to go. I'm not saying I don't fuck up from time to time, because I do, but your average pubbie is so unobservant. I'm laying down fire with an LMG and they'll just stroll infront of me like ding dongs. Hardcore doesn't become less hardcore if they remove friendly fire, IMO.
They need to boost that contraband tier rate. Ideally the normal rate would be double what it is now, but I get they want you to buy tiers, so maybe just a bit of a boost. Just something because it's still a bit to slow.

Well, I have no idea what the heck got into me last night, but every game I had was just great! Was doing some work with the titan. I didn't even feel a little salty when I was done playing for the night, it was nice. Of course that means tonight (when I can actually stay up late and stuff) all my games are going to be trash and I'm going to be hating life... I hope not, though.
Almost done with round 1 on the Titan. Have the Paladin at level 10 so I'll probably move to that next. Gonna tank my KD hard with that one...

Looking around online, it appears to take ~50 minutes to earn 1 contraband tier. So if you play at least an hour a day, and win a game/get a kill in Blackout that's 2 tiers a day. More than enough to finish the thing in the time allotted, especially since most people typically play for more than an hour. Though, I guess not everyone plays every day too.
Still, I guess it's not as bad as it seems in regards to tier earn rate. Wouldn't be upset at an increase regardless, though.

Yeah it feels slow but with the daily tier and the length of the event I think it's okay. If you play a decent amount you'll finish this one and get the guns and stuff.
I got the masterwork Titan from the last thing, but I didn't make it to the tactical unicorn which makes me sad. Hopefully it pops up in another contraband stream down the line, or maybe I get past tier 100 in this one and then get it from a supply drop. That'd be cool.
At least Zero was tier 1, and she gets a dope ass skin at 15. Gonna take a hot minute to get the SMG and AR though.

Are the first 200 tiers gone now? I got the Titan last week but it felt like there was still a bunch of time left on it. The Titan was my goal anyway, so I'm satisfied.
