Hey guys, long time. I come bearing some bad news, unfortunately. On April 16th, our long time CoDBro (and my close friend), Holiground, passed away. He left behind a 5 year old son, for which a GoFundMe has been set up. If you want more info on that, you can message me. I don't know if I'm allowed to post that directly to the thread. Josh was a great dude, and I will miss him more than he ever would have believed. I'm sure there's a lot more I could and should say, but I find myself at a loss.
I thought maybe it would be fun (?) to have a Holiground Memorial COD night, just like old times. I know a lot of us are on different platforms, and some of us don't even play COD anymore, but for those of you interested, let's figure out which game and on which console we should get together on. I plan on being super drunk and susceptible to wild emotional swings. Join me.
(I have all the recent CoDs on PS4, and can play Blops 1 & 2 via BC on XBone.)

I have good memories of playing with Holi. It's fuckin' weak to hear that he's gone.
I can't really say I can get together with everyone in BLOPS or anything like that. I don't have my Live account active, and even if I did, I don't have my 360 any more.
It's possible, but doubtful. They've been raking in cashish with season passes and CoD points for a few games now. I don't see Activision of all companies cutting off a revenue stream. I would love to see them release the maps for free though.

I haven't been interested in a COD game since MW2, so I'm not sure what the typical content distribution is at this point.

I'm having a lot of fun with the old, less convoluted zombie maps in zombie Chronicles. My brother is a big zombies guy so I picked it up mainly to play with him. But it shows why the mode was fun before it totally disappeared up it's own ass also

This looks really great, but I think I might have to cancel my preorder in favor of Battlefront 2. I'm going to want to solely focus on that game I think, because it looks like they're doing it super right this time.

Yeah, I'm not going to skip this. Gonna just have to get this and BF2.
The War game mode is going to be my jam. Sorta similar to Operations in Battlefield 1, attack and defend objectives. In the map they showed, allied forces have to capture a building, build a bridge, plant a bomb, and finally escort their tank to take out AA guns so bombers can enter the airspace.
It looks super fun and fast paced, and the best part it is doesn't even track K/D. It isn't about kills, it's about playing the objective and that makes me real happy. Divisions seem to work well in place of create-a-class. Airborne seems to be the SMG class, so I'll play that one a lot. The cool thing is, Airborne folks get suppressors by default and you can put them on and remove them in-game.
Kinda odd to see American and German female soldiers running around, though. I'm all for it, because it means variety in character models, but they were hammering "historical accuracy" pretty hard during the initial reveal. I assume they're just trying to nip the "U guys r sexist!" nonsense in the bud so they don't have to deal with the same dummies that went after Battlefield 1.
They also keep comparing their zombies mode to Dead Space, which I really want to get excited for, but I feel like it's going to be the same old dumb game mode.

Oh also, round ending, and final kill cam has been replaced by Play of the Game. Not 100% thrilled by that because every one I've seen has been from lame ass sniper jerks.

I still have all the old CoDs that are BC on XBone, though I'll be out of the country for a couple of weeks.

$40 for 4 maps seems like a lot. I don't really care about zombies mode at all. I guess E3 will probably answer most of these questions.

Seeing flags with the iron cross on them, but...
