Yes this is why I only take my car to a place that loves the yankees. It shows they are competent in at least one thing.

I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

I cannot imagine what that would be, however.

The Kraft model? Win the HoF coach and late round HoF QB at the same time lottery?

I was speaking about team business model, that obviously the on the field excellence helped along tremendously, but he's relied on the state of MA less than any other owner has relied on their respective states in their business model. I think that's in the best interest of municipalities and the sport. The Soccer Club/League way of ownership is fun. I really should get around to making the horse racing thread, just for the general talk about sport and ownership I feel is best covered under those auspices. It's a lot more stickly in team sports involving humans how much any one individual owns exactly. Even when a team is owned by a different group, a player can so excel and be so vital to a teams profitability/identity, that they are the owner, and can even become so (look at Mario and the Penguins.).

Oh I dunno. The new 9er stadium hasnt helped them out as much and it was the same model I think... :)

Yea, so is the one down here in LA for Rams/Chargers. I think a big problem is they moved it so far and disconnected it from its established fan base and the 49'ers have been a horror show. But the RoI on the Patriots since Kraft took ownership is impressive enough that trying your best to emulate him isn't a bad idea, from a business point of view.

Wait What!?!? I mean I know people in New England really really love Tom Brady. But I didn't realize the majority of the Pats earnings come from people forking over tens of thousands of dollars for him to impregnate their wives.

If only! I can only imagine what Tom Brady spunk would fetch on the open market. Forget about selling the sleeping with him to get it.. THAT is a business I would immediately invest in.

I'm still waiting on my stock in that Korean pet cloning company to come to investiture...

A big thing in horse racing, besides all the drugs stuff that kills it for me and is such a bugaboo and long drawn out conversation with so much baggage, is that Zenyatta just recently spun the paradigm of stud fees in their head. The highest RoI thoroughbreds at pasture are Mare's now and it's more common now for it to be a foal fee instead of just a stud fee. There have been some reallly amazing dams the last decade, so t seems fitting and they are much rarer, with exceptions like American Pharaoh and such.

There is a scene in Ted 2 directly involving harvesting of Brady's seed

Sorry. That would involve watching both a movie Seth MacFarlane made and Mark Wahlberg in anything but the Departed or his cameos in those episodes of entourage. Just too high an ask of any man.

I haven't been or looked at Levi's stadium. Did they do the Cardinals/Glendale thing and try to make it in what once was undesirable low income area? And like theres nothing else to do around there, other than drugs or maybe get shot in one of the dive bars where you can bet on dog races? I think that's a horrible model and kinda defeats the point of stadiums. Inglewood isn't exactly a great area, but Hollywood Park was a pretty awesome spot and is fairly centrally located and they're gonna have a casino and the airport right there, so I have a hard time foreseeing this one failing. I'd be surprised if Levi's hasn't been profitable even still, truthfully. They just haven't had the gamgbusters team value growth of the more successful teams in the NFL, but that's just how it is in the NFL. You win, you make more money.
