Saga is amazing and everyone should read it.

Science fiction comic about civil war, the complexities of behavior and morality, political reformation, and some good old fashioned space battles.

(I'm probably not even doing the series justice with this description.)

It's available on comixology if you don't have a nearby comics shop/prefer digital!

    oohhh Night & Day Watch!

    I loved that series!

And what is Saga? That looks interesting!

It's a real good comic book. I actually think you might get a kick out of it.

It's about a husband and wife, Alana and Marko, taking care of their newborn child in a war torn galaxy. The only problem is, they're both soldiers, one from each side of the war, and as a result pretty much everyone wants to get rid of them and pretend they never existed. Obviously from that description there's a good deal of space opera action and freaky aliens and such, but it's really more notable for its strong emotional core and depiction of a group of people dealing with a lot of Serious Shit in their quest to keep their baby safe.

Saga is a great series, and I highly recommend it (assuming comic book nudity isn't a deal killer for you).
Long story short, two members of opposing alien military forces fall in love and desert to live together. They have a daughter (which is a supreme taboo when your on opposing sides of a war that's stretched across the galaxy) and the rest of the series largely follows them trying to make lives for themselves in a galaxy that wants them executed with extreme prejudice.
Also, there are bounty hunters and a talking cat that knows when you lie.
That's extremely short for a series that spans 6 trades (so far) with a 7th coming in March. Definitely worth picking up the first and seeing if it appeals to you.

    Another Saint present!

    a0imxudpkn5b.jpg

It's a big ass dog fountain! Like, huge! And that's awesome because these dogs drink so much goddamn water they're legally not allowed in California. On multiple occasions I've filled a bowl, watched one of them drink the entire thing and then look at me like "why do you hate us we never have water". There are five different water bowls all around the house, but this one is so big that maybe I won't have to fill out three times a day (Maple gets angery when the main bowl is empty)

    aqvtqxx17iiw.jpg

Right now they're confused and entertained by the fountain noise so they haven't drank from it yet (although they did lick the water from my fingers when I showed them they could drink it).

Thank you so much, Saint! No name on this note, either, so I'm not sure if it's the same as the other gifts or another wonderful person!

In fact, steam informs me that I received 2 gifts, but unfortunately steam is proverbially shitting the bed and won't actually tell me what the second gift is, or let me redeem the first one! OH WELL.

Thank you, @mRahmani ! Your generosity is very appreciated!

@Blackhawk1313 's bonus gift of the SNES arrived the other day (I couldn't find this thread in the Upside Down at first) and, for the first time in 18 years, I have beaten King of Dragons.

On Normal Mode, Using the Wizard. Which using the Wizard or Elf is basically like playing on easy mode, Jesus Christ. I first booted up the game and swung in with Dwarf and holy shit I had forgotten how flaccid his swings were. His limp noodle of an arm barely clears barebones melee, and it actually does less damage than the wizard's OP as shit basic attacks. Now to try it on Elfen Extreme difficulty, then eventually I'll make my around to beating it with the Fighter, Cleric, or Dorf. But I am really, really looking forward to playing this game with someone else.

And I got another package in the mail today! From a mysterious stranger! IT WAS MAGIC: THE GATHERING CARDS! Commander style, if you must know! It's a badass as fuck W/U/B/R (everything but Green...just how I like it) That uses a lot of ETB effects and artifacts. Oh, and they got me a gift box from Kaladesh which will help me store my cards. And what did I get inside one of my booster packs?

A Panharmonicon. ETB TRIGGERS, YO! WE HAVE THEM!

Turns out the large package was for him! (and I'm definitely not talking about myself) From the Internet!

It's a 40 gallon fish tank! He's been wanting to upgrade his 20 gallon for a few years now so this is perfect and amazing and you made him tear up.

But Maple is very protective of it so I think it's hers now.

Thank you, Secret Saint! You didn't leave your name on the note, so I don't know if you want me to know who you are, but I know you're an amazing person!

Yeah when I saw it today I was like "holy shit, this looks so much better". I could have sworn I put the black trim tank on my wishlist instead of the clear (because his old one is black trim) but we both really like this one

He got another fish, a black telescope goldfish named Lucy to join the three older goldfish (Lola, Lilly, Leeloo) and the plecostomus (Gomez)
