Maybe they'll give better compensation because of it. I could do with some more Gigantuars to feed to Exdeath. Which reminds me, I need to get the equip hat materia for him. I should be pretty set for him equipment-wise (double earrings, Wizard Rod, Creepy Mask, etc) once I strip Kefka down.
In all seriousness, it's a big cause for concern. A single extended maintenance is one thing. For this many delays to have happened, there's some problems. It's not just a single issue or bug fix anymore. We'll never know the real reason, but you can bet it's a major issue.
It's all good. At this point I expect the compensation to be 300 lapis, 5 Gigantuars and Gil Snappers, 2 tickets, and 75 NRG refill. Woo.

Whatever compensation they publically announce they will hand out for this, likely on their FB account, I wouldn't be surprised if it got bumped up with something extra in a separate announcement, because they've done it before, such as the arena reset that they didn't initially announce they would reset or compensate for.

The added what, one Trial, and preparation for the new banner and maybe Christmas stuff? The hell did they manage to fuck up this badly for such an update?
My guess is the UI update is the big problem. I work in software development and if your UI is poorly engineered it will be a constant source of bugs and problems every time you touch it.
And we all know the game is poorly engineered at this point, so....

Eh, I can't imagine it's anything more in depth than the Halloween update. And that already shows they handled a UI update without this kind of clusterfuck.
So, back to the previous event's rates? That's not bad; my derpy Sazh plus a geared Lightning friend clearing the PRO should net 500 gears a run, then. I can live with that.
They upped the compensation to 500 Lapis and 5 Summon Tickets, too. Now, do I try to get a Lightning, keep trying to get a Gilgamesh or start saving them again for something going forward?
Did a daily just for shits and giggles. Got a Vanille.
Ran it three times before I remembered to sub her in for Sazh.
I only saw one cactuar in ~6 runs though, but yeah, doubled (and Vanille replacing Sazh) is super nice.
I should be able to add 75% to that multiplier tomorrow when I can sub in Sazh for CoD and rely on a friend Lightning for that extra damage. Not even sure I want to pull on the banner even for the extra bonus though. I'm pretty sure a whale-enough Lightning can solo(ish) clear it, so I'd just need Refia for the phys buff, but Hope and Fang are 100% worthless, even on just a TMR level.
Also, yeah, WHALES DISABLED is a pretty fucking major bug. Which is still not fixed. Good work, Gumi. Looking forward to more maintenance tomorrow.

Well, Two-Headed Dragon is down to about 50% hp and I've triggered Dragon's Voice at least a half dozen times. This is not as terrible as I had thought.
It helps that Elza Auto-Reviving removes the debuff.
