Got an Eight on the daily draw.

Decided to spend 10 tickets to get at least a couple more 3 star units (hopefully) that could help me farm the event more.

Everything was off-banner. A third Chizuru (I have enough Chizurus, game; can I get her daughter instead?), a couple Sheras, a couple Duanes, my second Amarant, and some other assholes I can't be bothered to remember.

On the one hand, I'd like to make farming more efficient. On the other hand, I super don't want to spend more tickets on this banner.

There's two schools of thought; either you draw a bunch of units and run Pro with 1 carry unit and 4+1 bonus units, or you draw one/none bonus unit and run ELT with your A-team and a bonus unit friend. If the units have good TMs, or if I like the 5*, I'll do the former. Otherwise, I do the latter. This time around, I'm doing the latter.

The exclusive items and materia might influence the decision too, but this time they're pretty tepid; a 15% ATK materia aren't worth the farming required to get it. The sword, maybe. And I don't need a lot of 6* materials this time around.

With a 50% unit and a 75% friend unit, my Noctis comfortably solos ELT, and an Exdeath/Ling combo would probably do just as well. And that gets me ~465 phantoma, which isn't bad. If a bomb shows up that's another 450, and if the uber thing shows up that'll be another 787. I can live with that. Plus a bunch of progress towards the "steal 1000 times" trophy.

But first, a few days of Dunes because they're awesome now.

Edit: got a double Gigantaur spawn in the second wave, so it looks like you can get up to 6 gigantaurs in a run?

Considering I'm starting over, I need pretty much everything on this grind event menu. Already 6*'d my Luneth, hoping to get Pcecil and Nine to 6* as well. Grab the tickets and sword, maybe see what else is in range or if I hate myself by then.

I can only do ADV right now though, so 220 per fight is the best I have going. It's going to be a grind.

If you can only do the ADV and you want to get two more units to 6* max, start running the cactaur dunes now. There aren't enough Gigantaurs in the exchange to finish two more units, and while the dunes is less efficient than Pro/ELT I'm guessing it's at least as efficient as ADV, and has infinite Gigantaurs.

Brave Suit and Black Cowl get! Chizuru will gladly hold onto them until I max out Olive. Now I feel like I can start doing the event. Zidane #2 is at 94.5% but he can wait, I don't have as much anxiety about that dual wield.

Once my Mercedesx4+DKCecil team is done, I'm going to run Olive-Hayate-Gaff-Gaff-??? all from 0-100, burning every scrap of Lapis I get until it's done. It'll be the first time I do that; I just got rank 71 so it feels like it's finally close to the efficiency I wanted.

How much lapis does it take on average to do a TMR farm with refreshes, and how quick does it usually finish? I've got a ton of them I want to farm (including a full set of Shines that I'd love to pop out quickly). I'm rank 73 and think I'm around where Rius is for the efficiency of using Lapis refreshes.

It takes ~10 days of full burn to do 10000 runs, and each refresh at rank 73 will get you ~93 runs. That's with a 35 second run time. That's a little over 100 refreshes, though it gets more efficient with NRG login bonuses and non-Vortex daily quests.

I realized I don't have any ATK materia better than 15%, and only one of those, so I spent my 4 tickets on the Olive banner hoping for a Shine. Even just one would be good, and I could run her in that fifth slot I described earlier.

Woo pulled a Nine. I'm going to stop pulling on this banner. Once I get him to a decent level I'll swap him in with Randi for the remainder of the event.

Type 0 units are so boring though. All of yhem have one or two weapon types and almost no good armor types. I get that they're based on the game which has each of them specialize in one weapon but it makes it difficult to get any sort of damage output from them.

Though it's only by my paltry standards, Nine actually does some pretty okay damage. I can see myself keeping him around till I stumble on a better DPS unit.

Positive side is he isn't competing with anyone for gear either.

Two more tickets at the Olive banner, looking for my first Shine. Two more yellow crystals. Fifth Mercedes, second Warrior of Light. That's six of the event tickets, five yellows, five off banner units. FML.
