My understanding of Ziggs bot is that it's not some quirky build or playstyle it's just his normal build but he takes the "ADC" role since he serves the same tower killing function as an ADC while also bringing great waveclear, range, earlier spiking damage and some self peel.
I can't think of a great reason a random silver player wouldn't be capable on Ziggs vs a marksman ADC. I'd personally guess Ziggs is easier to play competently both in lane and in teamfights. But if you want to dodge that's obviously your prerogative.
Can't figure out how to look up Ziggs ADC win rates in silver unfortunately.

I've only been playing ARAM since I got back, as many, many items have changed along with some character reworks so I'm still getting into the swing of things.
I keep getting Olaf and Twitch as the random characters for some reason, I've had them come up four and five times respectively in the last two days. It's weird.
Have been getting a handful of S ranks, but I figure that's because it's easier to run up big stats in ARAM than the rift.

Running Ziggs bot in low bronze is legit. Nobody knows how to deal with it, the early harass, the crazy wave clear, the slow and knockups and the Ult are all very accessible and unfair to immobile adcs relying on their right clicks./

Yeah, but Mastery rank is not some sort of elusive trick. If you play enough, it will go up. And if you get a few good games, you can even get the rank 7 mastery.

Ziggs adc is meta enough that I wouldn't dodge it. Still haven't tried it as last night I was too tired to play anything but very practiced champions on autopilot. I think it will work well with my playstyle, since I just push all day and also appreciate having something like Cait net, although I'm not an expert at deploying satchel charge so maybe I wouldn't use it well.
I didn't mean to suggest that dodging champ selects you feel bad about is a bad idea. In fact, I think if your gut tells you to dodge a champ select, you definitely should because even if it goes well, maybe it was going to affect your play because it was in your head.
I was purely talking about people in champ select who are just constantly chatting about "don't play X champ, it sucks. play this instead, bla bla" and they keep going at it when the game starts. I swear it's 90% chance those people will just get dumpstered and start blaming other lanes for their problems.
4 games today; 3-1 and into my next promos. I was kinda tired but wanted to play league, and honestly I think while I'm doing this initial climb it is ok to play while not 100% with it. Got two perfect games on Caitlyn

I had a free win...lost next game. Then on last game, I was supp and ADC at same time. Still won lane, haha
My adc disconnected repeatedly, was gone about 70% of lacking phase and most of game
It was thresh and ziggs. Ziggs would run at me, I emp. Q, w, he has to back. While he's backing, thresh runs at me. Emp.Q, w.....repeat cycle until shyv comes to help hahah

She has some SICK reflex shields, amazing 'nados, wow. I don't think I can play Janna again ever.
Edit - the two after that could very well be Eve and Urgot. Eve is supposed to be reworked by the end of this year, meaning she's high on the list and they have a direction and Urgot I think was supposed to be this year too but I don't remember.
Or it could be the same old song and dance of "we're working on them lol oops nvm we scrapped them starting from scratch."

Heimer can stay in the trash bin where he belongs as far as I'm concerned.
Akali is very fun and has zero skillshots if you're bad at skillshots like I am. If you like Velkox you might like Lux. Fizz is one of my favorite champs and one of the less mechanically demanding mid assassins.

His missiles are either easily dodged or you hit with one of them. And his turrets can be taken out by caster minions as they have longer range.
For area denial he exceeds you can 2v1 if you have your turrets, ult, and Zhonya and the people focus you over your turrets, but you can't really roam that well as he is slow and if he isn't in his machine gun nest he's a free kill.
His passive is cool but if you actually use it and build tanky you aren't really useful and can still be bursted down. This being changed to something more useful may be all he needs. Like maybe a mild speed perk when inside his turrets that stacks per turret and more responsive turret AI. Which would be in agreement with other Midlaners who are either highly mobile (Kat, Lissandra) or have long range abilities (Velkoz, Lux, TF who is sorta both).

Heimer got neutered by his rework imo. His turret damage got shifted to the dodge-able laser, his stun lost the blind and a chunk of its AoE, and he lost the reliable poke from his missiles. In return, he got slightly stronger mantra for an ult instead of slightly weaker mantra that affected all his spells. His gameplay didn't really change but it's easier to avoid his damage now.
So, I'm 10/14 over the last week playing ziggs bot or mid. thats a 71% winrate. i know that when i get that sort of winrate on anyone that there is something wrong, and it will get nerfed. this is zombie karthus territory for me.
so, if you're looking for a one trick pony, get it while its hot, queue mid/bot and play nothing but ziggs.

Haven't played in a few days so I did an ARAM and someone offered me Twitch in trade - heck yeah. I did well but we didn't win and I didn't get an S so I queued again. Second game someone again got Twitch and traded me, we won and I got an S. That's pretty lucky!
Finally fought a Renekton as Swain. This is the first time I have lost to a counterpick. I've fought Darius and Riven and managed to not lose lane and even win or stay relevant and keep my opponent laner down.
The double dash and being able to lock me down with very little opportunity to retaliate is definitely a tough one. We could have still won in late game, but ADC and mid got shut down too, plus we had a JG that DC'd until minute three, just long enough for the remake to not kick in. Guess I have to keep the Maokai/Poppy subs in rotation for Renekton.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

his missiles may feel like they never hit but i routinely see heimers that hit wit at least enough of them to trigger thunderlords.
and yes, if heimer is behind he can get focused over his ulted turret
if he's even or ahead (likely because nearly no one farms as well as he does) then i call bullshit, he drops and ult turret, zhonyas and gets a double if he gets dived
i mean, statistically he's not the worst off of mid laners. he has a higher win rate than both syndra and leblanc.
so i don't know if there's really a solid argument for how underpowered heimer is
i think it's probably the case that his turret damage should be rebalanced a bit. but i don't think that without radical redesign he will ever be amazing outside of bronze.
