I love the kind of ult they gave her. Mostly because it's not really an ultimate ability compared to the usual - it's simple, small scale, not too high impact, and with a low cooldown. Almost a normal ability you can't max early.
That aside, can't wait for the youtube montages with her Q and W.
For the life of me, I can not get Shaco or Yi to work for me no matter what I do. Yi's kit seems so simple, Shaco so difficult, and yet I always end up dying when my target has like 5% hp left.
Trundle on the other hand I steamroll with.
If, if Reagan played disco He'd shoot it to shit You can't disco in Jackboots
Shaco and Yi are mechanically super high level champions. They require a level of skill that goes beyond just executing your own gameplan and actually tricking or outsmarting your opponent's gameplan.

Master Yi is actually incredibly hard to play because he kit only really works when you can outplay and outpredict your opponents.
The new runes and stuff hit tomorrow right? I'm pretty excited for that.
Not that it matters much to me, but are they going to refund IP spent on runes previous? I imagine thats a hefty amount for some people.
They're issuing partial refunds. I think it's like 15% of the rune price?

@Bucketman Yeah, and they're refunding. Marks/Seals/Glyphs 100 BE each, Quints 300 and some for what you spent on rune pages (you keep the pages).
Worlds/Faker
I agree that he was playing well throughout worlds, but I was getting pretty sick of the casters super-hyping Faker all the time. I think I heard "the best player in the world" about 4,000 times and then they even went to "this bright, shining star" and so on. Game 1 they went on and on from champ select through the first few minutes about how Malzahar was going to get curb-stomped by Cass, then Crown went even (or better) in the losing matchup. First trade at 4 minutes Faker goes aggressive and loses the trade big time, then SSG ganks and gets a summoner, then at level 6 Crown ults Faker who barely lives flashing out with 100 hp. Faker was stuck in lane all early game, and at 12 minutes he tried to go in on Crown who avoided the ult stun and left at about 80% hp while Faker was forced to retreat at about 1/3rd. They acknowledged it that game, but by game 3 Faker had "won lane games 1 & 2"

Honestly, the "have to purchase rune pages" part of this new system bothers me. It's the old mastery system renamed; why can't you just let people have all 20? I say this as someone with a full complement of rune pages, too.

Not sure if you’ll have to repurchase the rune pages. Iirc we get to keep the pages purchased.

I haven't read through the relevant information here, I guess--do we not just get unlimited mastery pages like before? Are they now limited to the number of rune pages we have? Will we not be able to change the new runes/masteries/whatever they're called in champ select?
..I mean, ok, I don't realistically need as many mastery pages as I have, but it's nice to set them up once and not have to think about it again.

Yeah, you get to keep what you have, but I think it's pointless to require people to purchase them still. Under the new system, they're probably not worth very much. My point was that I'm not benefiting if they change it, so I'm not complaining on my own behalf.

I believe you can change runes in champ select, but you are limited to a number equal to your current pages. You can still buy more, up to 20. So it's basically just limiting the number of mastery pages based on how many rune pages you have--again, from what I understand.

The mastery pages are going away entirely, the new system is based just on rune pages. You can edit them in champ select, though.

I realize they are getting rid of 'masteries' but it looks like they are getting rid of runes and renaming masteries to runes.
Which is fine as long as they give every champion a base stat buff equal to my standard rune pages...are they doing something like that? Basically everyone was running flat armor yellows, I think--so are they just giving everyone that bonus armor? Or are all champions slightly depowered now?

I think the goal was to just put all the passive stuff everyone had into the game directly and let masteries/runes be just the interesting choices of keystones and whatever else. I haven't kept up on League news in a while though, I basically just did my ranked placements this year.
Please consider the environment before printing this post.
Champs get stats based on what they're more likely to need. Most champions get armor. I don't think many mages are but most will. Some get health, some get AD, some get attack speed (primarily junglers; Kayle is getting free attack speed too). Who knows where the game is gonna wind up though.
Most of the purely defined melee support champions got +20 Armor, some more hp and MR, since that's what most of their rune pages were. The ones that went elsewhere; Naut and Poppy, got about half the bonus their pure support brethren got.
Games for tuesday night league were again very very one-sided, but I feel better about matchmaking this time.
First game I thought once more I had tilted matchmaking in my favor and was feeling terribly guilty, but actually I fed uncontrollably and my team lost. All right.
Second game was a new champions/new roles game, and I'm always like, ok, I have a big advantage in these because I play way too much league and have a general idea of every champion every role, plus am just mechanically strong compared to this group. But hey, @Casual Eddy joined us and I know he also plays a bunch of different roles and will be good and mechanically better than me, plus he carried the first game, so ok, put him on one team me on the other and we're good.
me: *locks in Fizz mid, gets 18 kills*
Casual Eddy: *plays Janna toplane*
...
...to be fair he was winning lane as Janna top, but :P
Holy shit, Fizz is kind of easy to play! ...but I was up against a very new midlaner. Still, it was fun enough and unintimidating enough that I may actually play as an assassin in a normal game a few times during preseason maybe!
Just a heads up for today: I believe you have to actually play a game before you get your rune refunds and stuff. So don't freak out if it's not there when you log in.

Also, there are a bunch of chromas available for 2000 blue essence until 11/27. A lot require skins, but not all.
Edit: I got Blood Moon Jhin for no discernible reason ("a gift from Riot Games"). Awesome!
Blue Essence seems much harder to acquire now than IP was. I’m going to reserve my judgment until everything shakes out, but if Riot just turned league into the second coming of Overwatch, I’m probably out after six years.

You get mystery skins for having I think four rune pages bought with RP, rounding up I think? I forget there was an answer in a released FAQ.
Also Urfwick is released with the ultra mega badass recall in the essence shop if you have the IP for it.
@credeiki a very, very long time ago a friend of mine and I crushed an enemy kill lane with me on AD Janna. I had zero plan of picking her but I lagged out in champ select and it stuck on her. Pantheon was the enemy AD, meaning every auto should have put me in spear and leap range of damn near close to it. Fun times.

So I just lost like 5 ARAM games in a row so I decided to check what’s up
Apparently my ARAM MMR is >1600
For the record I am a terrible player and I don’t normally play solo at all

Is the only way to get it by getting a box via S on a champion, then unlocking the box with keys?
I think this would work fine for me (only have ~20? champions left to buy--and I don't actually want any of them--and this season my box and key rate was completely synchronized, leaving me with one unopened box and one key fragment at the end of the season). I suppose it's more of a problem for my smurf who plays very few games and owns very few champions.
(...yes I know I should just read the patch notes instead of asking the thread. I'll do that later!)

Not quite that bad, every time you level up you get an unlocked chest which will have blue essence and champion shards, plus some special things at milestone levels. What is worrying people is that (A) you've gotta level up to get any BE at all, can't do 1-2 games to get the last 100 you need for a purchase and (B) that's a (reportedly) somewhat slow rate.

The first win of the day bonus is reportedly significant. I wouldn’t know since I still haven’t won a game since the patch
It's better than Overwatch because at least I can just buy what I want with real money if it's an issue.
Still, I'm glad I already own most of the roster because I very much doubt this'll be an improvement for anyone except new players who get front loaded rewards to provide a better hook.

So far Inspiration and Resolve seem less easy to slot in compared to the 'do the damage' trees.
Also there's a lot of morbid fun in putting the rune pages together while there's no real conception of what makes a good page/what options are bad.

I guess I can never play ARAM again
Where do you find your ARAM mmr?
There are like a bajillion sites that will estimate mmr for a given lol queue. Some of those can do ARAM
hehehe
I mean you keep playing ARAM in 5-man groups with a bunch of people who play more regularly, right? We probably anchored your mmr somewhere weird.
