Playing a bit of Stardew Valley because it came out this year. I can see how this might engross people and take over their lives, but right now I'm just trying to figure out where everyone is so I can say hello to them. I've already passed out in my front yard due to exhaustion and been robbed.
Can't everyone just have a big town festival in the center of town or something so I can just get this quest over with? I've got rocks in my yard to dig up.
When are they gonna teach me how to craft stuff? I'm running out of space in my backpack cause I'm holding all this wood and stone.
fake edit: After a quick Googling, apparently there is a decent sized mod scene for this game for stuff like finding where NPCs are on your minimap. I might need this.

Shadow Warrior is definitely up there with newer games I want to experience eventually...but DOOM comes first. And maybe the new Wolfenstein comes after that...with Batman Arkham Knight wedged in there somewhere. And whatever else I pick up during the winter sale.
It amuses me that an enemy who drops a ton of money in Neptunia is a whale. It has a certain meaning.
Hey, not all Neptunia's humor is boob related/adjacent.
Just, like, 65-75%.
Considering they'd be probably a cinch now that I'm level 45-50ish, I think I'll see what I can grind out of them, @baudattitude, thanks!
Wow, you are way later game than I thought and those might be awful XP/money.
In general though I think getting the make enemies stronger plan for any given dungeon is a good thing. So if you can do that, find a dungeon more your level and beat the carp out of the tougher ones.
Oh. Ok. I usually leave the dungeons as-is, as I'm currently unable to make any headway in, for example, the volcano dungeon. Then again, my entire strategy for the early to mid game was to take whichever characters I wanted (i.e. the DLC goddesses or the already in-game ones) and use them interchangeably, not working on Lily ranks, or needing a dedicated healer since I have weak enemies on (which as I understand it doesn't decrease the xp/credit return ). Then the BS fight with the item and skill lockers came up. And the non-morphing characters are, at least in my opinion, useless once you can have a party of transformers.
So basically, any tactics might be helpful, as my tactics usually involve hitting things until they stop moving and using goddess form whenever possible for anything larger than a basic enemy.
Ok, please excuse this next question, I ask it only because I was probably 20 hours into the game before I figured it out.
Did you know that you can customize all of the characters basic attack combos? (And have you been doing this?)
Oh weird. They also have a selection of Miraculous Ladybug stuff. I did not realize that had taken hold enough here for merch.
I guess that's a Heads Up for Pixie.
Steamworld stuff too. More for Iolo. That's enough merch plugging I guess. Surprised to see some of this.
Not that the Borderlands sweater wasn't oddball enough already.
So I could try this Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun thing. Could do two full missions.
And my opinion coming outof this trial is that it's fucking great. It's basically Commandos cleaned up for a modern interface and design, only way prettier because artstyle and also ninjas and samurai and Edo-period Japanese architecture. The characters feel noticeably different and not at all redundant (as well as fairly likable), and the game seems tuned to be difficult but achievable in a very precise way.
If anyone ever enjoyed Commandos back in the day, 100% recommended. I myself intend to buy it soon as next pay comes up and I have any actual money.

I like the idea of those Commandos games, but the last time I tried one I loaded up the first mission, looked at the instructions and quick reference manual and saw how much there apparently was to learn and noped out of it. They sound like amazing experiences, though.
They're probably easier than I think, but it seemed daunting at the time. I have two of them on GOG.
fake edit: haha, I also have Commandos 2 and 3 on Steam and forgot all about it. Probably best played via GOG anyway.

I loved the Commandos games at the time but I really, really don't think they've aged well at all. Even something as simple as shifting the camera angle feels incredibly unintuitive to do now, in the first games at least.
Take hypothetically and for no immediately practical reason, Maguano. No wishlist: a Forumer of Mystery! Games played suggests not a deep diver,by choice, disposition or life constraints
Or perhaps, Maguano is a point in his life where the spare moments he has, when he's not coaching 2 travel soccer teams, still administering both his parents estates, and settling into a new house, are spent trying to find games that rekindle the magic that gaming had for him many moons ago. (With enough disposable income to say, nah, eff it, this game isn't worth my time)
Or perhaps he mainly lurks in this thread witnessing the random kindness that internet strangers heap upon each other to remind his jaded self that all is not for naught in this world
Or perhaps he simply made a donation to help some sick kids, with no strings attached...well maybe just so some bunnies had to accept gifts...
Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Free advice you didn't ask for - prioritize hit count over other things so you can deploy more and earlier EXE drives; that gauge is primarily based on hits, and those are your heavy hitters. Using EXEs on bosses actually will add extra hits, because EXEs have a second phase when used on bosses. They're long animation but skippable, at least?

I have also figured out this, or at least to prioritize more hits during bosses, though if I have a feeling one is coming up and can prepare for it, I'll just grind EXE drive levels against basic baddies.

I mean, I think I'm slowly figuring out Stardew Valley and what sort of game it is, versus maybe what sort of game I thought it was.
We just had the Egg Festival in town, so I went around talking to everyone but still only have 27/28 people introduced. I'm sure I'll figure out who I'm missing someday.
Also I got 6 eggs and lost to Abigail, and the Mayor conveniently did not say how many eggs she found. With the person who drags your body home at night if you pass out somewhere and steals your money, the sewer monster, and the homeless guy who gets abused by the townsfolk, I'm beginning to think this town is more like the one in Hot Fuzz in that it just looks nice and pretty but actually deserves to be razed/burnt to the ground.

The Shogun Tactics game is fantastic. It's intuitive and responsive, everything properly explained, great layout. I enjoy the animations and characters, it's a great throwback and just beautiful to play. I know money's tight this time of year but this game is totally worth it if you're a fan of Commandos or just tactics games in general.
