Shovel Knight is a real gem, I can't believe it took me so long to grab it.
Also! Just completed Pillars of Eternity and SOMA, knocking two big ones off my list. I got a couple more horror-inspired things though, Alien and Stasis.
Stasis is fun! It's more horrific than SOMA but a lot less scary. It's like gross/evil/comedy horror rather than sadness. It's also blissfully a bit short I think? Based on the walkthrough I only looked at for a COUPLE SECONDS honest.

New monthly bundle is out! Looks like I'll soon be an owner of Vermintide (although chances of it running on my laptop seem slim, will still give it a good ol' rat murdering try!)
And with that said, HUMBLE MONTHLY LEFTOVER HERE! GET IT WHILE IT'S HAWT!
I got this in the Black Friday Sale, very awesome rogue survival game that features a very dick warthog that mauled me causing me to slowly bleed out and die of starvation. Good times were had!
Pretty solid Humble Monthly this time around, it wound up having;
Dragon's Dogma
The Escapists
The Flame in the Flood
Hacknet
Minion Masters
Mordheim: City of the Damned
Western Press
Yojimbrawl
Nothing that was on my wishlist except for Dragon's Dogma, but I've got fond memories of Mordheim's tabletop version so I'm excited to try it. Next month's first revealed title is also relevant to my interests - it's Vermintide.
I picked up Shovel Knight in the recent sale and I'm so glad I did, despite the fact that it is kicking my ass (how anyone can get the complete the game without dying achievement is beyond me). Knowing that there is more content to come is just icing on the cake.
Our goal?
Complete the game, i.e.; beating all the bosses, in one night if possible.
How will this be done?
Anyone can jump in-game with characters used in their previous sessions.
Though how it's handled, and what items can be brought will vary in how many users join before friday night.
What this means, essentially, is that farming may be expedited by having components brought from users' other games.
But getting plenty of people joining means all efforts can distributed among players without worrying about time constraints, so everyone can start from scratch.
If numbers are low, at worst, it only means bringing in high-level pickaxes, or parts difficult to farm for hard-to-get items, but NO high level or end-game weapons, armor, or accessories.
How many can join?
The default amount of allotted users allowed is 8, but can be manually changed to 200 if the server can handle the load.
As such, we need volunteers that are willing to host the game, as mine will run like crap.
When will it start?
This Friday of December 2nd.
Time will at 10 PM Central/ 8 PM Pacific/ 11 PM Eastern Times
Time is subject to change as we get more people on board, so we can have the maximum amount of players once it starts.
I played the demo for this a few times on my old Packard Bell 486. When a friend brought the full game over, I was disappointed that my CD-ROM drive's read speed was too slow to play the game correctly. All the cinematics and voiceover ran at half speed.
@Isorn did not wait that long for a response. Not long at all. Also, for those of you for whom this will be useful information, Steam has released the cap on key activations per day, increasing it from 20, to.... something higher than 20, I guess. I'm not sure how much.
Thirteen hundred shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be thirteen hundred. Thirteen hundred and one shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count twelve hundred and ninety nine , excepting that thou then proceedeth to thirteen hundred.

Yeah. So, @Isorn likes round numbers, apparently. (Also, Mahjong, in all it's flavors. Though, I can't help but wonder what happened to Barnyard Mahjong 2)
Those keys were for fun though. Not a proper gift really.
I actually needed to learn to play Mahjong, somehow. So this seems like it should help.
Computer games called Mahjong are usually a solitaire tile-matching game that is nothing like the Mahjong people play in real life, which is more like gin rummy.
I suppose i'll get in on this Terraria thing. Starting from scratch or bringing in a high level character sans high level items, either way is fine with me.

I haven't played it in a while but I remember the story and voice acting being pretty great. I also don't think it was quite as bad as some of those classic adventure games about puzzle solutions being completely ridiculous, although there are definitely a few of them. I don't know how I feel about the new graphical style, but I'm glad they give you the option to switch back and forth.

I could see the Monkey Island games, where they had to reinterpret the original graphics and add detail, but I have a hard time seeing a different graphical style here. It looks like the same art with less jaggies to me.
I've been playing Mahjong games for a good 20 years now and am still pretty much a beginner, I know enough of the rules to win games but not how to score well.
There are a couple of real mahjong games on Steam but they're pretty beginner-hostile; they don't have tutorial and aren't entirely translated from Japanese.

Hell. Yes.
Absolutely love that game. There's 3 Mark Hamill voiced characters in it.
I also really like the soundtrack. Too bad The Gone Jackals never really went anywhere. Bone to Pick was a great rock album.

Oh wow I have many, many playthroughs of this game, mostly because it was one of the first games I could run on my first computer. In middle school I could probably beat this game with my eyes closed. This is amazing.

Yeah, I'm glad I got the Monthly Humble even though the only thing other than Dogma that I wanted sort of was Mordheim. Because now I have some things to gift out for Christmas.
Christmas starts now, right?

Vermintide is really good, if anyone is thinking about that bundle. Also I think it's a strategic thing since there is a new DLC for it dropping on the 15th.
The bots are borderline useless though, so I'd definitely recommend getting in touch with some of the other forumers who play it and we can get some rat-slaying on.

Is it suggested for Steam Gifts giveaways to use the thing to get the key, or to use the humble gift link?

It says '+ DLC' on the Humble Bundle page, so I assume that is all the current DLC and the main game? Obviously not the upcoming DLC.

According to Reddit it's not both the paid DLCs.

You're only missing the Drachenfels DLC, which is like $9. But not everyone has to have the DLC to play it, only one person in the group needs to have it in order to play it, so it's not really a dealbreaker.
I just like that these lost games are now found and available to buy, if only for archival purposes.
I don't really know if I'd want to play Full Throttle again, but I know I want to own it. Same with Grim Fandango. I own it, but I played it back when the game was impossible to find, so I'm not terribly in the mood to do moon logic puzzles I sorta half remember.
Oh right, forgot to @Firebird about the Terraria thing. Can't host, but i'll join if there's space.

Speaking of @Firebird and Terraria, I'm thinking about rolling Discord for tonight. I think there's a channel in the "main" Penny Arcade group that we could use.
Oh, before I forget, I'll be heading out in an hour and may not be back until 30-60 minutes before we begin. I'll set the server up then and see how well my computer and network can handle it before the actual start time.

Heck yes! Full Throttle!
I got the demo back as a kid in a Lucasarts collection with Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max hit the Road. I was always super bummed I couldn't play the full game. Hope it'll be reasonably priced.
This game is pretty cool and somewhat innovative. It's kind of hard to grasp at first, it sits in this odd area between real time with pause RPG and action game, with some RTS feel thrown in. You don't have a direct attack button, just move next to enemies to attack, but your abilities are more action oriented. There's a heavy emphasis on things like knockdowns and whatnot, as you can send enemies off bridges, or into fires. Each map typically is basically like playing various Lord of the Rings fights. There's a TON of enemies, and you're playing a bunch of really sturdy dwarves so you can just jump into the fray. So it sort of feels like playing RTS hero units against waves of minor RTS swarf units.
I'm not sure it's good yet, but it does feel fairly unique and sort of like the AA games of a few gens back where they weren't afraid to try some weird stuff
