Some days ago I stumbled upon an error in MS Outlook 2007: This Outlook file is not a personal folders file. But I don't know how to repair outlook pst file. Any variants...

If you can, try searching for the scanpst.exe program that should be on your computer. If you know where the location of the pst file us the scanpst program and have it do a scan and repair if it advises it. Depending on the size of your .pst file though it could take quite some time for this to complete.

scanpst should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

If it's 2007, and the file is over 2gb, it's probably not going to open with scanpst because it's hit the size limit..... you might try to open it in a newer version of MS Office.

Even with a newer version, the file will still be busted. Have to truncate it first, then create a pst in the new format and move everything into it.

Thanks for scanpst, and unfortunately for me my file is more than 2GB, I don't know what to do if scanpst doesn't help.

You will need to find a tool to truncate the pst so that it's less than 2gb, then perhaps scanpst again, then open a new pst (hopefully in a newer version of Outlook) then open the old one in outlook and move everything out of the old file into the new one.

You are, without any doubt, going to lose some mail in this process.

Yeah when you truncate a PST it just randomly tosses some shit out and it could be literally anything. The upside is you can open your PST again.
