this brawl is fun though, blizzard really knocked it out of the part with the design and voice acting of all the gang leaders
Eh. I had Paladin on my first game and won. If you're willing to play it a bit slower you can stabilize quite dramatically and then threaten with some big burst through buffed Argent Horseriders.
Getting large but cheap Taunt minions (like a 6/11 boosted Ancient of Blossoms or a 6/6 Wickerflame) out can screw up the Druid deck because it doesn't carry any real removal.
Nah. In my first game, priest got a Ysera out Turn 9 that lasted way too many turns by getting perfect draws and dreams to protect it. 13/13 Tirion was useless thanks to him discovering Burnbristle and then getting to Dream Tirion back.

Well, game #2 I got druid and beat a paladin. Yay pack. Boo garbage pack.
I assume if I made a pirate warrior deck, I wouldn't have Small-Time Buccaneer turn 1 (with accompanying Patches), weapon turn 2 every game. Like my opponents.
Edit: Although my priest just crushed that pirate warrior thanks to being able to kill a Buccaneer, Patches, and Frothing Berserker on turn 3 with Auchenai, Coin, Circle. Get fucked.

You know what would help new players? If there was any way to share a collection or dust, even at a penalty, in this supposed collectible card game. I'd love to give away 20k of my dust, even at a 2-to-1 penalty, but hey - #cannot.

So I've been playing lots of different druid lists just trying out different stuff to see what works, and I think Jade Idol is just a bit too slow. The more board centric druid lists are better and allow you to play more powerful minions on curve. Jade Idol was fine when a taunt or two could completely stop a pirate warrior, but the refined aggro shaman and rogue lists are too fast for that deck to compete. By the time you get your idols to a decent size they're slamming down leeroy for the win. More ramp oriented lists seem to be the way to go.
Here's the list I'm tweaking at the moment:
I really do like the new cards as powerful but mostly contained additions to specific decks, and hope that blizzard continues to move in that direction. Blizzard could have easily printed a jade idol card at each mana cost, allowing you to curve out and have an insurmountable board position by turn 5. Good on them for not doing that and forcing the decks to be a little inefficient, that helps stop problems like Secret Paladin. In fact, all of the problem cards that I find frustrating are from past sets - things like Spirit Claws, Tunnel Trogg, Flamewreathed Faceless.
Basically, just shaman the class.
I watched @Roz pilot this deck with great competence yesterday. While I enjoy playing with new toys, it's hard to argue with the consistency I saw. What would be a good swap for TBK?
@Iron Weasel That's a flex slot, there's enough taunts that I think it's worth running but you can make it whatever you want. If you want more grind against control decks it can be Cairn, another taunt or doomsayer against aggro, and Ysera in the mirror. Could be BGH if you want to blow out Shaman/Reno lock.
For the most part, one of the big challenges I was having was dealing with large taunted minions from Reno Lock and power turns from Shaman when they dropped Thing From Below. Both problems solved by The Black Knight.

Saw this last night, glad to see someone got the clip up on reddit:
I wonder if the next release, the one that sets off the rotation will be an adventure or an expansion. Traditionally they alternate the two, right? But with so many cards going away, I would not be surprised to see them launch BOTH an expac and an adventure in short succession.

Traditionally they alternate, but when the standard rotation was introduced they talked publicly about going to an expansion-adventure-expansion annual cycle. They haven't actually officially confirmed either way, but I personally think it's likely they go with that. It helps a lot with always keeping roughly the same number of cards in standard.

I'm sure this is the primary reason, but it's also about account integrity. Individual accounts are a lot less desirable to hack if the contents are locked to one user.

I could be wrong but I swear I remember they specifically said that it was the first expansion that triggered rotation, not the first release.
That is correct and also points to the next release being a full expansion. Otherwise we would have to wait for the rotation until like summer 2017 and even Blizz can't try to make that work.
So I agree with the meta analysis people that say Aggro Pirate Shaman feasts on Pirate Warriors. Anyone have tips for the aggro Shaman Mirror? I seem to have trouble maintaining board. I probably mulligan completely incorrectly for the mirror.

How necessary is Twisting Nether for Renolock? I noticed I don't actually have a copy.
Not necessary to hit rank 10, necessary to hit rank 5 and higher.
Interesting. I was just looking at Asmodai's rank 1 Renolock list and it does not run TN. Granted, he's way better than me, so I might still want it as another safety measure.

I really like the Wild Pirate deck that was posted earlier. I have had a few Turn 2's where I can play Ship's Cannon + Coin + Any 1-cost Pirate and now all of a sudden there are three bodies on the board, cannons firing all over the place and a Charge minion doing damage.

As bad as the handbuff mechanic seems in constructed, it seems all that much better in arena.

Yup. Except for specific cases, like gfycat.com/brutalsavagerekt, which was made by the gfycat admins as a joke.

rogue is the most annoying of the patches decks, imo
It is turn 6.
I have yet to draw a dragon other than the Twilight Whelp in my opening hand.
Blizzard plz.
Plz.
EDIT: Drew a Twilight Guardian on turn 7, praise Blizzard.
(I think it's too late, though.)
EDIT 2: My Ragnaros which I Drakonid Operatived from him sniped his Ragnaros, but then he Sylvanased my Ragnaros, who then sniped me.

But you really do want a no-questions-asked response to flooded boards in this meta.
