Is Patches really good or is it a joke? I can't tell? Does he keep coming back or do you just get him once? I mean he seems good don't get me wrong.
Think about every time you were playing an aggro deck and you were short on lethal by on or two damage so you lost. With patches, you just won those games.
Providing you remember to wait for him to be summoned to attack with him.
Speaking of which, I now have a post-it on my monitor that reads "REMEMBER PATCHES!"
The audio quip says "I'm in Charge!".
Blizz did that on purpose.

So I have 4 epics that I am leaning towards dusting from this expansion: Lotus Assassin and Manic Soulcaster. They seem fine to dust right?
It's still early to be sure of dusting anything, but those are probably safe picks. I think Manic Soulcaster may find it's place in a deck eventually, Lotus Assassin probably... won't.

Yeah, you're assuming that I've not hit end turn by the time the audio (or even the animation) happens.

Who plays with their audio up?
I tried and it just annoyed my wife.
"Hello, hello, hello."
I usually turn it off a few weeks after a new expansion hits, but you gotta be familiar with the audio quotes or you won't know what card the online Hearthstone community is talking about half the time. "Why does everyone refer to 'Sen'jin Shieldmasta' as 'Taz'dingo'?"
I'd honestly say it isn't worth dusting things to make Patches though. There's nothing that fits into his role in a deck, but there are ways of building those decks without him in my opinion.
I dusted the Lotus Assassins. I don't think they fit the kind of Rogue decks I want to play. I also dusted Ancient Harbinger. I am still a ways off from Patches.

I watched Reynad's meta talk just now. Heartened that he thinks hunter will return as it's one of the few weak matchups for renolock, his number one deck in the current meta. I don't really understand why - he says it's because of savage highmane but I'm not convinced. Perhaps renolocks will start teching in silence cards? Interesting also that he thinks paladin is the big loser except for murlocadin.

Just opened Kun, The Forgotten King in one of my packs. I'm currently consumed by the idea of making an Aviana/Kun/C'Thun OTK deck viable. Or the Malygos variant. It's been pretty difficult. It's wildly inconsistent and striking the correct balance of card draw vs. removal vs. stall is crazy tricky.

Hunter always finds a way, man. Never count it out for long.
Also because Hunter actually got some fairly good cards this expac. Alleycat is fucking fantastic, Rat Pack is great, Dispatch Kodo is insanely good value.

Savjz was working on this for hours earlier today, he was having all right success, but he kept tweaking the deck every few games so it's hard to get a single decklist :P
I thought he says at the end of the turn, "I have a nosebleed." for ages till I turned the volume up one day and realized what he said. It made more sense after that.
Also what do you young kids call it these days when you make the volume louder? I know us old timers call it turning the volume up since you had to physically turn a knob to make it louder. "Slide the volume up"? "Press the volume up"?

A while back I was running a dumb call pet king krush midrange list, and renolock was very popular in the middle ranks of ladder back then; I went like 10-1 against them. Hunter is uniquely positioned where their threats demand to be cleared, but are sticky enough that their five billion board clears aren't enough because some damage is always going to slip through. Plus steady shot means you can reliably get them low without investing your burn to force out an early reno, which is the last thing they want to do.

Yeah I was watching the stream as well. Amaz was playing the Malygos variant yesterday, with limited success. Apparently Neviilz had a good run, but I can't watch that dude for more than 30 seconds.
I guess I'm just not as good when it comes to playing the right cards at the right time. I definitely have a tendency to hold onto the combo cards when I shouldn't. The taunts in the deck should be solid, but I'm still having trouble with Pirate Warrior. Seems like I always draw no ramp when I play against it, and I'm pretty much dead by turn 5.

The secret to beating Pirate Warrior is by dropping Fandral turn two so he ragequits. I finally was able to achieve the dream of a 10/10 turn 5 though:

I still remember after the Buzzard nerf when Trump declared that Hunters were a dead class, and then it was still top tier like two weeks after the nerf and made it back into tournament lists shortly after.
Basically pros are about as good at predicting the meta game as anyone in this thread. Their declarations are useful, but it ain't gospel.
Sustains against pirate Warrior and Rogue really well, and is fast enough against control/Reno. Something like 7/2 with it so far, both losses with ridiculous bad draws, and small misplays like putting a flame tongue next to the wrong minions. Jinyu might get teched for an ooze, but not a lot of people are running 7 damage removal or hard removal for the 7/7 and then you heal it up with Jinyu and they usually cry. It has a very similar feel to the previous aggro shaman to me.

Haha, I had a small time, a deckhand, a jade, and a flame-wreathed against a control warrior with an empty board. He Brawls on five and the flame-wreathed lives, insta-concede.
Edit - Then the following game, taunt warrior. My opening hand is trog, totem golem, faceless. Draw two spirit claws, deckhand, and thalnos. He's played two whirlwind effects, executed my faceless, and buffs a taunt guy in his hand, turn 4 he's at 7 life and I'm at 30 still. There's a trogg on the board and thalnos, and spirit claws in my hand. Turn 5 he plays his taunt dudes, ones a 7/8 from the buffs and the other is a 0/7. Fuck, I am screwed aren't I? My turn 6, draw lava burst. Hero power, Spell Totem. Lava burst face.

Just whatever you do, ignore all the handbuffing. It is not worth it. Just play Hunter.dek with all the best cards including the one's he listed. Should be ok.

I think the 2 mana 3/2 that buffs is worth running, but yeah, the others are not very good.

This is basically what I was doing for a bit yesterday, just plain ol' midrange (not even a secrets package), and it seemed to be doing well.
Ironically, 4/7/7 is at the best he's ever been. Renolock can't handle it, Druid can't handle it, Execute is gone, Rogues are running a single Sap, and Reno Mage/Priest have to hope for Death/Poly on curve.

I use soulcaster in Reno mage. It's great! Moar Renos and Kazakii! I would def recommend to keep it if you have any interest in Reno mage.
Personally, dustable epics from Gadgetzan are:
Piranha Launcher
Greater Arcane Missiles
Luckydo Buccaneer
Unlicensed Apothecary
Kabal Trafficker
Weasel Tunneler
Defias Cleaner
Leatherclad Hogleader
Wind-up Burglebot

Fandral can either give you insane value or be a decent taunt. Anyone that lets him live multiple turns is gonna have a hard time.
