I have completed so many Murloc quests just by spamming "Thank You", playing my cards and not attacking them. They eventually figure it out. I even use Blowgill Sniper to hit my own face in case they aren't getting the message.
If I get one of the silly quests, then yeah, I'll head to casual, but being asked to basically play Shaman and win 5 times, while also being asked to play some of their best (i.e. the overload) cards, then that is pretty much the agro shaman deck that is currently doing very well.
As far as ladder climb goes, I still highly recommend Jackie's Egg Druid. It's super easy and incredibly fun, plays a lot like other aggro decks and the ladder isn't usually expecting it to take off like it does. I'm also against playing Aggro Shaman and Reno decks, so this is a nice exception to the meta.

I cannot for the life of me make this deck work.
I went 4-2 with it the other day. Beat a pair of Reno Locks, a Demon Lock, and a Jade Druid. Lost to a aggro Warrior who got Hunter hero power and a Dragon Control Warrior.
Give the VOD a watch, you might pick up some tips.

Couldn't make much progress in wild beyond rank 10 so after dropping down to 11 tried dragon priest in standard. Climbed up to 15 but having trouble getting further. It's basically zero aggro decks in standard rank 15 territory (EU server). It's renolock, reno mage and jade shaman only so every game lasts forever.

Same, yeah. It seems so utterly reliant on getting the exact right draws right when you need them. Inconsistent, is the word, I suppose.
Sure, sometimes I can get an explosive opener and light them up. But othertimes my opening hand is like, a bunch of spells and an Egg without a buff.
When I play Egg it always feels like it runs out of steam on turn three.
EDIT: My problem is most likely that not trading and looking for board control is super unnatural for me.

It's a deck whose only card draw is Mark of Y'Shaarj and Runic Egg, and contains 14 spells, 10 of which neither create a minion nor interact with your opponent on their own (ie- they require you to have a minion in play).
It's pretty much the poster child for inconsistency and for praying that your 1 drops carry you to victory.
Wow. I decided to give it a swing... on a whim, I guess?
It fucking DEMOLISHES Aggro Shaman. You just have to survive past that initial burst and stabilize and they're done.
An Aggro Shaman got me down to 9 health... and then next turn Brann+Jinyu, Lightning Storm his board. He concedes.
Decklist! Shit this is a fun deck though. Nice and slow, lots of healing, draw, and board clear. Brann has so many uses. Jinyu, any Jade cards (especially Chieftain late game, that's game swinging), even Jade Claws. Which I mean, probably not that surprising? But I always equated Brann with Minions in my head. But yeah, he works with Weapon battlecries too!
Doesn't even matter if your Aya gets Hex'd, because you'll just keep pumping out Jade Golems anyway.
Fun stuff.
So, I've played two games with this,* and both were reasonably comfortable wins. One against a handbuff Pally (kept 1 Hex in-hand all game, last card in his hand was like a 10/10 Tyrion; so sad!) and the other a Reno Mage.
In both cases, I won pretty deep into fatigue, so I don't know if I'm piloting the deck too conservatively.
I will say, though, that the win against the Mage was fantastic. Earlier in the game, he Reno'd at 20 life and then Manic Soulcastered it, so I knew he had another one in-hand when the game went into Fatigue. At one point, he had 4 secrets out (they ended up being Ice Block, Ice Armor, Spellbender, Vaporize). As we hit fatigue, I had a reasonable board, and the last two cards in my deck were my second Mana Spring totem and Ancestral Knowledge. When he had just run out of cards, he dropped a Dirty Rat which pulled my Mana Spring totem. On my turn, I Hex'd it to avoid Bonus Fatigue, pulled out Jade Claws for a 10/10 Golem, and added a stone totem to the board. On his turn, he took 1 point of fatigue damage to take him to 14 life, cleared a couple minions, killed my taunt totem with his rat, and ended his turn with just enough mana to have cast Reno if he wanted to (which was now the last card in his hand).
On my turn, I killed the rat by suiciding two small minions into it and then hitting it with the last damage spell in my hand (Lava Burst, I think), and then running the existing Jade Golem into his face plus the last swipe of the claws to take him to 2 health. End turn.
Fatigue hits him for 2, bypassing his Ice Block, for the win.
re: jade shaman decklists - i like the ~jade shaman decklist lifecoach/superjj play
(+2x smalltime bucc, 2x flametongue, patches, 1x? southsea deckhand, -ancestral knowledge, lavashock, healing wave, brann and 2x lightning storm)
the pirate package inclusion is very strong. sometimes turn 1 stb turn 2 flametongue and your opponent has no answer and they die on turn 4-6 to a deck that can go the distance against control decks

I hit Rank 5 for the first time today with Reno Mage. It's both scary and exhilarating. I think I'll be content if I continue to play and am able to stay at 5, it's not like there's a realistic chance of hitting legend this season.
Shaman now at the highest representation of any class ever, including WotOG/Kara Shaman, and continues to grow. We're back to Aggro and Midrange Shaman being the only tier 1 decks.

The other eight classes don’t look much different from last week. If you’re not Shaman, you’re either stagnating or declining. The only exception is Anyfin Paladin, which has seen an uptick in play likely due to the hype that has been surrounding the deck recently.

Firebat doing god's work.
As in, the deck is legit good, or he's trying to convince people to play it so others can get easy wins, or ... ?
The real joke would've been to mention the other seven classes ...

Firebat's been playing it recently (at least until he started getting super busy casting tournaments), and still has been uploading youtube video highlights of the deck. Judging by the meta snapshot's ratings, it seems to have great matchups against control (which is kind of obvious since it's a combo deck), jade decks, and neutral matchups against aggro shaman which is at least not terrible.
He has two variants of the deck (as far as I know). One with top end (Tirion & Lightlord) and one that cuts those two cards for Hammers of Wrath (its a cycle variant that digs for the combo faster).

Is there a version of this that doesn't run Finja?

He considers Finja the best card in the deck, so no.
I imagine it's the one thijs used at a tourney that destroyed everyone?

Everything except Barnes & 2nd Peacekeeper I picked out from his short highlight today. But I'm like 95% sure he has Barnes in the Fatty version since I recall him pulling out Finjas with it in the past and being mildly sad.
Edit: He either has 2nd Peacekeepr and no Barnes. Or 1 Peacekeeper and Barnes. I lean towards the latter.
Editx2: The cycle version I know has 2x Hammer of Wraths and doesn't have Rag or Tirion. Other changes, though, I don't know.
Yes, game, let's draw both my Anyfins by turn 2. That seems like a scenario where there will be interesting decisions for me to make.
They're either your first two or your last two cards, that's the rule.

Firebat on TidesofTime's stream asking the questions we all have: "Man, why I can't I get your opponents?" as Tide queues into a Prince Malchezaar Control Warrior at Rank 2.

Then queues into Jade Rogue.
I was thinking the same question last night when Kripp went, like, 80-90% win rate in the brawl and faced all sorts of potato opponents.

Hardly surprising. I haven't played in a couple weeks largely because the meta had stagnated so quickly.

If we're going forward into new expansions, the deck probably wants Blizzard to print: "Draw a card for each Beast you control."
It would fit the theme of Draw for Each spells in Warrior and Paladin, for an archetype that aims to throw down minions.
