My usual group of gaming/movie friends loved the first Crank. It went over really well.
Crank 2 was a huge failure with us. It wasn't nearly as funny, and I do recall thinking that it was more offensive in ways that were harder to laugh off. I've only seen it once though, and after a night of drinking and gaming, so it's hard to remember exactly what it was about it. I'm pretty sure some of it had to do with the twin brother or whatever of the guy who died in the first movie, and the way the new character was portrayed with his Tourette's.
I used to like the movie Snatch and then one time a person I was with began showing signs of distress and I asked what was wrong and they said 'my snatch burns' and there was an intense silence as my brain tried to make sense of that while attempting to incorporate the movie Snatch

I looked up to my cousin growing up, but seeing The One with him in theaters was my first sign that maybe he's actually an idiot
A character in the film said something about the quickest way between two points being a straight line and my cousin was like "that's so true..." like he'd just heard something profound from a Jet LI movie
I've seen him in Spy and Furious 7. Wasn't really a great impression either way, though with the former at least it was kind of funny.

Yeah that's kind of the thing. He isn't really in the types of movies I enjoy. Action movies, sure. Action schlock... not as much.
It's a fine line, how much Ridiculous I am able to enjoy without getting annoyed.
