Photoshop was the worst thing to happen to movie posters.
Like I love you photoshop, but you hurt me.
Photoshop was also the best thing to happen to movie posters, if you happen to have an easy-to-cut-out photo of a friend giving a thumbs-up and knowledge of what movies he hates.

I miss hand-painted posters. There's still some nice art found in independent distributors though. I like a lot of Criterion and Scream Factory's boxart.

what's weird is that the box art is often so much worse than the poster
The plot was clearer. Trick two agents into giving up the SMERSH code machine to Spectre.
The main antagonist actually seems formidable in a realistic way. He also look surprisingly like Daniel Craig. He is basically a Spectre trained counter spy. James only defeats him through careful observation and a realization that none can be as loyal and principled as James Bond.
Spectre becomes more of a developed organization in the film. It does have one fight with an old lady trying to kick bond with a poisoned shoe. He deftly defeats her with his chair fu abilities. They really stepped it up on the one liners too. At one point Bond must solve a gypsy girl fight over a man, and resolves it with guns and his dick. Truly the Bondiest solution.
The movie ends with guys who clearly have guns trying to run Bond over with a helicopter until he shoots the driver. It's like they played Battlefield 4 and then went back in time to shoot the movie.
One of the things that strikes me about it is the fact that none of them are likely to be strong enough to pull themselves up the rope anyway.
Well sure, no one can climb a rope. It's physically impossible!
I can't tell if you're being snarky or what but climbing a rope is fucking difficult.
There are two ways to climb a rope.
1: Have proper footwear, technique, and an appropriately thick rope made out of the right material. It takes time and practice to learn this. It's how we do it in the army.
2: Be ridiculously strong while also pretty light. Also I hope your rope is thick and dry.

I kinda disagree about being ridiculously strong.
Fit and with decent endurance, absolutely. But I'd say it's more familiarity with the muscle movement that plays a big part than raw power.
I'm a petite little hobbit man with thoroughly middling arm and back strength, but I can climb a rope because I've done it a bunch.
so what are everyone's most anticpated films for 2017?
for me its:
logan
flatliners (yes there is a sequel to flatliners in 2017)
resident evil: the final chapter
the 30 for 30 episode about the xfl
friday the 13th part 13 (if it finally happens this time)
I know valerian would probably bomb or such but I do want to see it
Dunkirk I do want to see but with movies creeping up to first showings at 2pm I am more and more likely to just suffer till when they come to video or whatever it's called
John Wick 2 I am curious if they don't do a lot of the tres chic action movie things and still keep and cool fresh and simple
I have yet to see Rogue One because of the local cinemas changed the first show to 2pmish
I really feel the era of good silly slashers is long over because they have to be hip or whatever or be so hyper violent they get cut up just to be put out and maybe the NA rated one is put out on video

Huh. I had season tickets for the XFL in Chicago. Like, 4th or 5th row middle of the field. It was a glorious failure. I'll definitely have to watch the 30 for 30 on it.
Too tired to think of anticipated movies right now. I will say that I may never cease being shocked whenever it occurs to me that I'm looking forward to Thor: Ragnarok. I had zero plans to ever watch another Thor movie after The Dark World. But, Taika Waititi. How can I not want to see it after they chose him to direct??

Well if you've done it a bunch I assume you've developed your technique. I'm talking someone whose never grabbed a rope and is just doing it because they're in a life and death situation. That person is probably going 100% upper body strength.
Get Out is out next month, that looked real interesting
I'm tentatively interested in how that Captain Underpants movie will turn out
July has some real good shit coming, cause I'm super onboard with Spider-Man, I'll always show up for a new Christopher Nolan movie, and I am fascinated with how Dark Tower's going to be
Blade Runner 2049 has all of my cautious optimism with Harrison Ford actually being excited about it, Ryan Gosling as a potential actual robot man, and Denis Villeneuve being maybe the best sci-fi director right now
Ahh it's a Thursday night I have to go to work still I will remember to watch it and hopefully my cable company stops flipping transmitters as it's eastern one week and west a few days later
Favourite musical bit: the first song. None of the others lived up to it. It also didn't have Ryan Gosling or Emma Stone in it. Coincidence?!?
The special effects were great. Especially the bad effects, which were nice in a hokey kinda way.
2017 films I'm looking forward to:
John Wick 2
Kong: Skull Island (I'll be honest, I probably won't see it, but I'm looking forward to it)
Hmm. There must be more.

so what are everyone's most anticpated films for 2017?
Looking over the schedule, there are four wide release movies of 2017 that I'm fairly sure I'll be seeing. Lego Batman (not really enthusiastic, but it's there and might be okay), Guardians 2, Spider-Man, and Star Wars 8.
The rest either I don't care about or I haven't heard enough about them to care about yet.
I was interested in Dark Tower until I heard it's a like a pesudo-sequel or some such. Now I'm stuck wondering if reading the books first would make for a better experience or what the situation is and it's killin' my buzz

You don't have to read the books.

That's actually a pretty big part of the end of the movie and you should probably spoiler it

Speaking of movie posters, I saw a few people tweeting this fan-made Jaws poster. The most accurate comment was "nightmare fuel."

Bond has a super futuristic car phone too!
But it loses its thread
Creed is still a real good movie

i've gotten invites to a few test screenings
key phrase there "a few"
i'm pretty sure the studio doesn't want anyone to know it's coming until it's already in theaters

kieffer sutherland is even coming back!
I'm not at all surprised you're excited
Valerian because I fucking love French Sci-Fi. Also Valerian and Laureline are really awesome comics.
John Wick 2
Dunkirk. What. I like Nolan. So sue me.
Baby Driver
God Particle aka the next Cloverfield
Star Wars with that good Rian Johnson shit.
star wars 8 is just a given at this point because i am super intrigued with how they are gonna play luke
i'll see thor:ragnarok if it looks as crazy as it sounds on paper
i'm deffo seeing justice league and wonder woman because i am just all in on that there dceu
i just tend to get most hype for a thing that probably won't be seen again for a while
i guess it's the finality of it? or at least presumed finality?
Dunkirk I do want to see but with movies creeping up to first showings at 2pm I am more and more likely to just suffer till when they come to video or whatever it's called

horror, though, has taken a turn to "things that are clearly metaphors" and i am okay with losing the silly for it
if only for a little bit
eventually, i'll want some levity again
action movies, though. that's what's real strange. not even seeing any good direct to video stuff, either.
