All they've removed is filling your titan meter, you can still wipe out bounty titans and catch nearby players the same way. Nothing else you can do with a titan fills that meter up and there's no reason Nuke should be the exception.
It was far too big a benefit and indirectly made legion and scorch worse as they were more likely to be caught and gift the Ronin player a fresh titan. It was overpowered, the change is needed
I don't know if it's possible to do the grapple hook launch to jump jet glide thing with a controller
I tried the default control scheme and evolved and bumper jumper and I can't do it
I've managed it a couple of times, but there's no way I could do it in on-the-fly in a combat situation.
With a minute to set up I can hurl myself across the map, but more often than not I just land and there's nobody there to shoot. Course corrections with grapple are possible but take away heavily from shooting.
Angel city is actually awesome to practice spidermanning around. Other maps not as much.

I think they should have probably dropped it to maybe 1/2 or less of a Titan fill meter. Being a complete fill was probably a bit broken depending on multiple situations, but having a portion still returned to you, since it was still a kill after all, I don't think would have been awful.
Just a note. Jayfresh (dev) just posted on reddit that a Hemlock nerf is incoming. One burst body kill up close is gone, increased damage fall off at long range when not amped.
Greetings friends! We’re happy to report that Live Fire will be rolling out on Thursday, February 23. We’re adding two mode-specific Live Fire maps, Featured Playlists, a new execution, an additional Coliseum map, mixtape-style matchmaking, balance patches, and more.
To help get you started in Live Fire, we’re also pleased to announce a double XP weekend beginning Thursday and extending through Monday (Feb 23-27). Please note that this bonus XP will be granted only for playing in Live Fire mode.
You’ve been extremely patient since we first revealed Live Fire, and we’re enormously appreciative of the tremendous community support around Titanfall 2.
So is Live Fire offering any new guns, parks, or equipment?
Nerfed Tone, which is good enough
As much as I know it haf to be done, I'll miss op Tone.
There was something very fun about switching to Tone midmatch and turning a battle around with him, especially when the enemy team was using Tone themselves.

I think if they just made his shield impossible to shoot through from both sides he would largely okay balanced.
I am 99% sure I'm right in saying that shooting Tone's shield, doesn't build up your core; if that is true, then that is the thing that should be looked at (i.e. your core should go up, but maybe not at the rate at which it goes up to when you hit a Titan directly).
The real problem with Tone, was when you were fighting 2 close to each other, because you'd then have to fight your way through 2 shields (and even with another, you typically couldn't down both shields without them coming back).
That said, I did always enjoy scaring Tones with my Ronin so that I ended up behind their shield and them on the wrong side.
With regards to the other Tone changes, I don't think one can argue the longer pulse cooldown (it's still an incredibly powerful skill) and reducing the projectile size were unwarranted (she was far too good at killing pilots with her gun).
Looking forward to the other changes, such as those applied to Devotion and Hemlock.
Played a few rounds in the new mode. It's VERY fast, but the action is a little jarring with how quickly rounds reset.
Solo queue I'm not sure I like it. It tilts very quickly if one side gets more than a couple of kills early... suddently it's 6v3 and goes very poorly.
The two new maps are interesting... Meadow has a ton of shit in the way (trees/etc) so a threat scope might be mandatory. The other one is all stacked shipping containers and has some great wallrunning potential. It's very close up inside the stacks and submachine guns/shotguns seem to be solid picks. I wish I had the R97 unlocked, as I was hosed by it more than once today.
Hopefully I can get some rounds in with other PA peeps to see how it is, but I'm not blown away by it yet.
In other news, custom Mixtape is awesome. Goodbye CTF!

I'm hoping to try it out later tonight. On the nice side it should be easy to get some free merits from the Double XP if the games play as fast as it seems they can.

It's a very fast mode... first to 5 rounds in 60 second rounds.
Coming back to this has been a mixed bag. Lots of highly skilled players (used to easily get top of the lobby myself, not any more), one sided games, getting stuck on walls.
Yeah, I've been playing the game for about a month, took a break for about a week for For Honor, and playing tonight was kind of rough
It was the first time since I got the game where I ended up on the losing team like 4 times in a row. And by losing I mean like, our team got demolished. And it seemed like whenever I played the game before the update, if people left they were promptly replaced by new players. I was in a game tonight where 2 of our teammates left fairly early on and were just never replaced, so it was a game of 6 v 4 and there was just no way to catch up.
Other than weird matchmaking stuff game is still real good. And I only saw like, one Devotion.
Starting a Live Fire round by winging a Sonar Knife into the enemy spawn and getting a kill is such an exquisite feeling, it almost makes up for getting steamrolled.

I absolutely deplore that idea. You shouldn't force that on people. A good workaround would be to have pre-made groups only matched with other pre-made groups. All PUGs get matched with other PUGs.
While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.
Wow, they made Colosseum a brand new loadout. Softball, Wingman Elite, Gravity Star, Phase Shift. Fuuuuuuuuuck that bring back my rocket dueling.
Woah... people still play that mode? I guess to each their own, but I have damn near 100 tickets and 0 desire to play it. In fact, receiving another ticket is worse than getting nothing. I'd prefer if I could cash each ticket in for a single credit. That's how little I care about Colosseum.
Le_Goat on

It's pilots vs. pilots. In a game about giant robots.
The maps are tiny, cramped and each has 3 predictable lanes of travel. This results in a lot of people just shooting down the lanes and stalemating.
No respawns means you are punished for running in the open, which means there's a whole lot of camping and hiding going on.
Unless you single handedly murder the entire other team, you probably won't get enough juice to squeeze off a perk, so those suddenly lose all value.
It became apparent very quickly that the main weapons that everyone will use in this mode are the R-201 and the Devotion, with a few oddballs using the Kraber. Using anything else puts you at a farily severe disadvantage.
There's a really pointless flag in it. Seriously, what's the point? Either the entire other team dies or they don't. I've yet to see a single round won by someone "controlling" the flag.
I used to think Pilots vs Pilots was the second most useless, unfun Titanfall game mode ever next to Colosseum. I didn't think they could make that shit worse, but I guess I underestimated Respawn.
Meanwhile, the new Custom Mixtape is great. Now I can finally play with some variety and never have to suffer through Pilots vs Pilots again!
Does anyone have any advice if my game won't work after the update? I bought it digitally. Should I uninstall it and reinstall? Would I have to download it again if I do that?

I mean, while that is sound advice, it's always a shame when a whole new mode comes out and it just has zero playability for you.
And I think the critique that a game about shooting giant robots while piloting other giant robots should probably try and contain some giant robots is pretty pertinent.
It seems to me that Live Fire was built specifically so Titanfall could possibly become an eSports event. I get why some people may be stoked for this, but TITANfall without Titans seems..... wrong to me. I get that they kind of had to have Pilot vs Pilot, but a new rendition of that is the new mode? Meh....
I played a round and won't be playing it much. I'd prefer a group co-op battle similar to
the wall battle with massive mechs coming from every angle. That was the best part of the campaign and I strongly desire more of it.

Attrition
Bounty hunt
Hard point
Last Titan Standing
Capture the flag
Pilots vs Pilots (team deathmatch)
The Coliseum
And now live fire
Plus the single player
Four out of eight modes feature Titans
Yes, clearly there are not nearly enough titans involved!
