And don't forget, any kind of bunkering up requires a steady stream of Titans not doing a coordinated attack to succeed. Farm minions and reapers or do pilot hit and run tactics (works very well with archer from afar) .
So I'm starting to see a new, to me anyway, trend.
It's everyone on one team fights till they get their Titans and then find the corner and proceed to build a fucking Tone & Legion Fort; With Nuclear Phase Ronin farming points. Is this the "Meta" the non-existent pros in the non-existent Titanfall Pro League use to win? It is the most unfun thing to experience. It's a massive pain in the ass trying to get them out of their fort cause it's bullet/missile hell that whittles you down in which Ronin appears to execute you. And taking out the Ronin just gives you a sudden nuclear explosion. Either way it's win-win for the other team.
This is on PC and the gamemode is Attrition, which I can't fucking stand, but I guess that explains why this tactic works.
Not to besmirch the PC, but it really seems like it is the absolute worst platform to play the game on. From reading various forums the community seems much more toxic on pc, the population is much lower overall and almost dead for certain modes and you get ultra try-hards doing super annoying shit like you describe. I have seen something similar to what you describe once on the ps4 and it was easily rectified by just raining MGL on them from above along with some firestars, but they also weren't doing it very well. It's a shame really because I feel like on PC is where the movement system can be pushed to its max because of the type of control the player has.
Attrition has built in design to make a corner titan fort weak in the form of grunts and reapers. Usually maps have open areas on opposite sides where reapers fall. Kill them for the same point value as killing pilots.
You could also cluster missile snipe with Northstar if you want to be proactive
It is a great campaign. I always find myself trying to manage peoples expectations because most of my friends tend to play adventure or rpg games, but Titanfall does an amazing amount of heavy lifting to make you care and be invested in what is going on story wise. "Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot"

One of the things I love about the campaign is
The true final level is the penultimate one.
The last you go ham with the smart pistol in a way that largely reflects the opening sequence (which I also loved).
Then you're reunited with BT and go absolutely berserk with his new legion loadout. And in both instances it's just a set piece, nothing can stand against you, even on the hardest mode. the action is all in service to the story telling.
I tried multi out, and as I suspected I am terribad at it. It's a bit frustrating getting one shot by something and not knowing how I could have avoided it other than not being a scrub.
I did have a nice moment where I blew up someone's Titan and blasted its ejecting pilot out of the air with Ion's shoulder laser.
Best bets are going so fast you are hard to hit, and anticipating that every corner has a hostile pilot out to get you and you gotta get the drop on them
You can use the pulse blade kit
That shows you enemies
It also shows them to your teammates

Just finished the campaign.
They really did a nice job there.

I'm aware bounty mode itself might be slightly confusing, but that mode does give you a good idea where people are going to be fighting i.e. The bits where the bounties are.
Things overall get better once you become more familiar with the maps and eventually get used to the idea that you generally need to keep yourself moving.
Played a game and found myself in a tricky situation in that I vastly underestimated what was at the bank

Everyone says this but it's like, a really simple mode. Kill AI stuff and damage/kill AI Titans to earn bank and bonus. Kill a player to steal half their bonus. Turn your bonus into bank by using the banks during the banking period.

It's a simple concept that has a high strategic skill level to do well in if you are playing against competent players. The rules are simple but figuring out how to best approach the bounty, how long to stay, when to gtfo to make sure you are able to secure the bonus, who to prioritize in what situation with concerns to the bounties. I find that it is really easy for people on teams to get tunnel vision and end up losing a significant bank because they get focused on chasing a kill etc.
I had a game the other day on Complex where I ended up banking (at one time) well over 1k because I kept having to stop and kill Titans that were on the way to the bank and the bank would be closed before I could get there. Super tense.
Started playing Northstar with Threat Optics instead of Enhanced Payload. Things I learned:
1) I can't aim at pilots for the life of me and now I have no excuse because they are highlighted (wish there was just smidge bit more of splash damage)
2) Missile cluster without enhanced payload is rough to work with. I wish you could hold the shot (like Ion's laser) and aim a bit. Something about having it shoot right when you press it makes it tricky to use (though that's the same with Enhanced Payload)
Four very bad games in a row (I am not anywhere near a good enough player to consistently be my teams MVP). I'll be quitting the multiplayer until the MM decides to take a break from kicking me in the nuts.
In the beta people complained that we had bounty hunt, and that attrition was way better and that they were worried when respawn said it was the natural progression of attrition we all cried foul that attrition should be in the game.
And now bounty hunt is the best game mode by miles.
I've been playing straight LTS in the hopes of getting better titan combat.
It's yet to occur.
LTS is plays almost like a pure first person MOBA, except its really hard to carry a team. So you can do phenomenal but if your team runs directly into the other team...well.
Fun fact though, LTS is one of the fastest ways to level up your Titans if you want the camo unlocks etc. Each Titan drop (so one per round) plus Titan kills etc contribute to your Titan level hashmarks.

On most maps I don't see the fort but on maps like Crashsite and Exoplanet where map is small enough the minions will drop right next to it, I see it trying to happen. What's funny/sad is that the fort doesn't have to be coordinated or its not a thing that's pre-planned it's just that the 3 Titans that make the fort work really well together. Also, Crashsite and Exoplanet have spots where it's difficult to bounce something off a wall.

This is my experience so far. I've personally had some pretty good matches, but a lot of my teammates just love running face first into the meat grinder.
Considering that this is a pretty slow moving thread, would it be possible for someone to make an executive decision and deem a single Penny Arcade network for the Xbox One players?

Assuming non overlapping networks the official network is which is closest the end of its happy hour.
How you play a Titan in LTS is going to be very different to how you might play in some of the other modes.
That definitely is the case when it comes to how I play Ronin at any rate.
I play Ronin much more aggressively in Bounty or Attrition mainly because I know I can get him back much quicker. In LTS you almost have to hang back and wait for fights to start to then hit from another angle.

I've been getting lots of bad teams over the last few nights, but I only ever see one or two other folks on the PS4 networks around. Really need to invite folks more often.
You know, I do kind of wish they could just pull the trigger and do cross-platform multi-player play. Especially with how networks are now.
I think at the very least they need to relax the matchmaking with datacenters or whatever, because I'm sick of playing against the same 1000 people playing in Sydney and with an eligible player population the skill-based matchmaker balancing is completely busted.
I would gladly take another 50-100 ping if it meant I could play with more people that weren't 90% MLG fuckfaces and there were more games that weren't landslides
Yeah, think I'm putting this one down. Singleplayer campaign was great, but I'm just not fast enough to be able to play multiplayer and contribute meaningfully to my team.

Even the final fight is a joke compared to viper.

Hey fella... I saw an invite pop up on my phone.
Didn't ignore you, my stepson was probably playing my account.
I need to get some matches in with you guys though. Solo is excruciating.
