Man I want that, but I'm sad the mini can't be in docked mode

Any tips on using Ditto (yes with imposter)?
I swear, I've always loved this pokemon but it seems so damn ineffective every time I've given it a shot over the years. Whether I was using it for the main adventure or competitively.
Ditto just always seems to be a weaker version of its opponent that gets easily trounced.

Back in the day, I heard of using Ditto with a Choice Scarf as a revenge killer. Send it out as a free swap when an opponent’s Pokémon takes down one of your guys. Ditto will copy the enemy’s stats as they currently are (meaning any buffs from moves like Swords Dance carry over), and the Scarf will let Ditto always beat them for speed unless they’re also using a Scarf. So then you have Ditto try to one-shot the enemy’s sweeper to break their team’s momentum.
It's especially good in the current format because it can give your team a psuedo-Restricted 3rd. Is your opponent running Lunala? Scarf Ditto Lunala goes faster and hits it for 4x supereffective. Groudon? Faster, 2x supereffective Precipice Blades. Heaven forbid you get a Choice Scarf Geomancy Boosted Xerneas on the field- faster than everything, bulky as hell and hits like a tank. But that HP definitely keeps it from being seen too often.
I have never played Pokemon TCG ever. I've got some cards, because I love Pokemon and I bought some even though I've never used them for anything.
Well, this weekend I had some family in town, and I've got a 7y/o nephew who loves Pokemon. I brought my cards over and we figured out how to play. So I played my first ever game of Pokemon TCG this weekend. It was awesome.
Also, being the cool uncle and getting to teach him about Pokemon is extra cool. I've brought my Switch over too, and let him play Let's Go Eevee. He loves the Pokeball controller. That was a great accessory to buy.
Extra bonus: We got to the Cerulean City gym and he beat Misty all on his own. And afterwards he was like "Misty is the worst" and I was like "Darn straight she is."

Always nice hearing people enjoy the card game. If you have any questions about the game let me know! I run a pokemon league at my local game store.

I had a couple preconstructed decks. We just used those.
I had one with Volcanion on the cover of the box and one with Luxray on the box. Those are what we used. It was good fun even though I know those preconstructed decks are hot garbage for anyone other than a total newbie. But we are total newbies so it was perfect!

If you want more cards, lots of the third-party boxes and blisters are kind of all right- unless they're made by the Fairfield Company, in which case put them back and then go wash your hands. Seriously, we're talking about "an oversized card, a pin, maybe one or two booster packs, one or two cheap pack-in GX or EX-level cards (usually just tossed into the box) and something we advertise as 'sixty assorted cards' that turn out to actually be a big stack of nothing but energy cards."
If you want a pile of cards to try to mess around and make some decks with, save up a bit and pick up an Elite Trainer Box or two. Between them and the boosters in each box- and the two starter decks you have on hand already- you should have the ability to make a few new decks to screw around with.

Good advice. I don't know how far I'll go down this rabbit hole tho. As soon as my brother and his family leave town I won't have anyone to play with again.
I do have a few other cards. We played with premade decks, but I bought a few boosters here and there. Plus, around the same time that I bought some boosters, I went into a big card shop we have here that sells singles and I bought a few of my favorites, just so I would have them. I have no idea if the TCG versions are actually good. But 3 of my favorites are Gardevoir, Chandelure, and Gengar, so I bought singles of their evolutionary chains. The plan was to build a ghost/psychic deck.
On the topic of the Pokemon video games... it continues to amaze me at how faithful of a recreation Let's Go is to the originals as far as world design goes.

Grab the Pokemon TCG Online client. If you want to justify buying cards, you can enter the code cards in each pack into your account and earn boosters there. It should help keep your skills up and it's a decent way to kill time.
This thread is interesting in regards to the whole debate about animation. I suppose it only bubbled over because people were frustrated with Pokemon in general, but I think it's helpful to relook the source of the argument.
I've always thought the trainers and human characters were animated well, for what it's worth.
So Pokemon Duel is shutting down. Did anyone else play that? If anyone still plays it, did they ever patch in the last bit of the story mode? I had to uninstall it for space a long time ago, so unless I uninstall a bunch of other stuff I can't reinstall it right now to find out the answer to that question.
You start the game with a Pikachu (and Hau has an Alolan Raichu), as far as I can tell there's no overlap in Pokémon, from what I hear there's an evoution mechanic, and Voltorb's another unevolved 'mon that Lt. Surge has in the games.

I played it a decent bit up until 6 months ago when they changed from booster boxes to just buying the high tier figures for real money. As far as I know they never finished the story.
I really liked the game for what it was. It had some fairly deep strategy and an ever changing meta. I didn't even mind the booster boxes. They're fun to open and I always just saved gems instead of spending real money. I wonder if the switch to even heavier pay-to-win is what did it in?

Calm down, it's nothing.
Come on now, I think we both know I was joking.
Pokemon Reborn is starting to win me over on double battles. I've traditionally never liked them but I can see abit of the appeal. Still vastly prefer singles but more open to it now, I think.

also i finally get the new legendary names

The main thing is Ditto doesn't copy HP.

But then I decide to name an Alolan Marowak "Ghost Boner" anyway.

Time for starter evolutions I think
Although I wonder if Marnie is an actual Team leader or just annoyed at this bunch of football Pokémon hooligans claiming to be her fans.
Also, Weezing as a Industrial Revolution era factory owner is very appropriate indeed.
That is so damn cool.
I don't care what the rest of the internet is saying, I still think this game is looking rad.
