Gotcha. I remember in X/Y there was a very easy method to catching shines in the friend parks. I'm not much of a breeder but suppose I can wait and try that angle. I kinda wanted to take it through the whole game though, lol
The good news is, the daycare is on the first island. And if all you care about is a shiny, and not stats, breeding is pretty easy.
I'd say look up some guides for breeding for shinies. There are a couple things you can do to slightly improve your odds. They still aren't great. I've been trying off and on infrequently for a shiny Litten myself, and haven't gotten one yet.
I think one of the major things you need is to have one of the parents be from a different region. Which region doesn't matter, it just needs to be a region outside of your own. So like I'm in the U.S. region, or North America, or however they classify it. And I've got a German Litten for breeding purposes that I got through the GTS.

The daycare is like halfway through the second island, isn't it? With the miltank outside just north of the resort.
The baseline chances of encountering a shiny is 1/4096 from Gen 6 onwards. So my approximation in the previous post was on point.
If you do the Masuda Method with breeding, it improves your chances of getting a shiny to 1/683 from Gen 6 onwards. Still not great chances, but exceedingly better than the baseline.

For all the eggs you are hatching, you really might as well load that Litten out with good Nature, IVs, egg moves, Hidden Ability etc. I am pretty sure I have some leftover Litten from a breeding project to help you get started, too.
Best way to get a shiny is to complete your Pokedex to get the Shiny Charm (x3), and breed Masuda Method (x6). And these stack, too.
In any case, I'll probably just soft reset until I get bored of it and just start onward anyways. It would be easier to go for a Rowlett, since you just tap A all the way for that one. But the shiny for Litten is pretty great. I've done about 100 resets so far just while watching YouTube, I'll probably go to like 500 before I give up. But I do appreciate the info, I'll probably do my hardcore shiny hunting once I get those trinkets.
I've been playing Pokemon Masters (pre-launch in Canada) and it's... alright? It's made by DeNA, and the biggest game I've played by them was Final Fantasy Record Keeper for about 3 years. I wasn't expecting a 1:1 comparison of the games, but I feel like there should (or will) be more to it than what's there now.
Your personal character starts with a Pikachu, who can't evolve no matter how high you level up, and trainers who join you through the story all have their own Pokemon who can't be swapped out, but some can evolve, like Rosa who has Snivy, or Barry with Piplup.
A lot of the Pokemon only have one weak type, despite current game rules suggesting any type has multiple. Flying should be weak to Rock, Ice or Electric, but when you come across a Staraptor for example, only Electric is Super-Effective. Some Pokemon who are normally dual-type are still only single type, such as Empoleon (Water only, no Steel).
Maybe this is all stuff that will get updated some time after full release? I'm sure there will be a lot more to do as well, but much of what's there are daily training courses (where you can farm exp, or drops to learn new moves) and some co-op battles. You can clear a lot of the story which takes you from a novice trainer to beating gym leaders for badges so you can fight in the Pokemon Masters League.
I'm sticking with it for now, but my wishlist for the game at the moment is to be able to evolve Pokemon on trainers who should be able to evolve, or replace Pokemon on trainers who might specialize in an element to another Pokemon of the same typing. Like if my character is an Electric trainer, I could swap Pikachu out for Voltorb, or Electabuzz, or Zapdos, once they put legendaries in there.
I wouldn't hold your breath for the option so swap out Pokémon, the game is more trainer focused, so it's more likely they'll release more/alternate versions of trainers with different Pokémon instead. The in-game Dex already has an alternate Brock in it for example.
The question is - is the fish actually another new Pokemon?
I sort of doubt it. IF not, I wish they just used Wishiwashi instead!!!! Would have been a fun addition. But looking at that guy's grin it is hard to get upset.
Everything they showed off in this direct was SO GOOD. Camp, Curry, two fantastic Pokemon, a TONS of outfits...although I will always be wistful about the lack of National Dex, if this is what we get in the trade-off, GameFreak definitely made the right decision.
That teapot one is super neat. But it raises the question, is there other haunted dinner-wear out there? Can we assemble a whole team of Beauty and the Beast china set?
Also! Curry cooking and a curry dex!
Every announcement for this game just gets me more pumped. We're already approaching critical mass for hype and we're still 2.5 months away.

I am excited to see where it goes, though.

Kill it.
Here's hoping it is wearing armor though, because unless it is huge I would say that 258 pounds is a bit much for a bird.
Lil guy is going to be all muscle.
It looks like something you have to kill in Monster Hunter or Dark Souls.
