I was never a fan of Farfetch'd's celery stalk. I'm not a fan of any of the permanent props that certain Pokemon have, as I think it's a bit silly to say that literally 100% of a certain breed carries around the same prop. Like... another example is Pancham's bamboo leaf. For some reason it annoys me that literally every member of that species has a bamboo leaf just kinda there on their lip.
A better way is when they add details like that, but only to one specific member of that species. Like Ash's Treecko with the stick it chewed on. Not every Treecko does that, so it was a nice little detail to make Ash's Treecko stand out. It fit his loner personality to see him propped up on a tree branch, with a small twig in his mouth.
In Farfetch’d’s case, it was in service of a pun. The Japanese name comes from a phrase meaning “a duck comes bearing green onions”, which basically just means something unexpected but welcome (because hey, you get a duck and something to season the meal with). Hence the English name coming from a word that means something too good to be true.
Yeah I'm super happy now
When I went into Y as my first game without knowing that much, Farfetch'd was my False Swipe guy, so I created a pretty strong bond with them.

Loved Farfetch'd since Gen I and I still have one from Gen V that I would take online. Even got lucky with him a few times.
Then you can give him moves with a high crit ratio, or use Focus Energy.

See a lot of people nagging about the typing, ability and unique move.
I'm hopeful but if Farfetch'd did get an evo after all this time and it still ends up sucking, that would totally be something I could see GameFreak doing.
I like the design... but oh god straight fighting type? Really? You couldn't even make him flying/fighting for a solid, kind of unique type? I mean, I know it'll catch people trying to swing on it with moves that are effective against flying types for the first while, but... oh, well.
That makes... the only three pokemon from the Kanto dex to not have some kind of evolution, mega or otherwise... Lapras, Tauros, and Ditto. Given that we've seen three new Galar forms, what are the odds on Tauros or Lapras finally getting either a baby form or an evo, regional or otherwise (because there's absolutely no way they have the time to tinker with Ditto and figure out what a baby form or evolved form would be all about)?

But it looks like Cubone to me.

But it's just Fighting. No flying type.

Is it legit?
EDIT: so many goodies

That could work for a fossil pokémon.

I can get behind that.
Let's Plays of Japanese Games
Sirfetch'd.
(Seems it is a Sword exclusive.)

What else? Maybe Bulk Up for +ATK and +DEF.

His revenge has finally come.

Looks like there's a variety of scallions called a "white spear" onion?

I can has cheezburger, yes?
Now they can replace some Flying moves for Fighting ones.

Wasn't a ditto evolution in that one Gen II rejected designs sheet that's made the rounds a few times?
Yet Doduo/Dodrio don't have wings and are considered Flying-types. It just makes no sense.

Charles Darwin doesn't wanna break the metagame. Sirfetch'd with Hurricane would be too much to handle. :P

Well, there is the shield and some really hard wood exists that could count as Steel.
Lucario's Steel type comes from the hard bone structure iirc. Don't recall which myth inspired it. Kinda like Wolverine.

Given they've been confirmed to essentially be the same species long ago, I've been jonesing for a calf Pokemon for years.
Should be off the charts.
