I wonder when the second gen starters are going to become available in numbers. Obviously getting them at all in the 3rd gen games was tedious, so it'll probably be a while until armies of them are bred en masse in D/P. Anyway, if you're really wanting one of the D/P starters and don't mind waiting a while, just offer up some of your crappier pokemon on the GTS. The Japanese seem to have a hard-on for English-named pokemon at the moment, so take advantage of that fact and name them something funny or gross.

Aside from completeing the National Dex are the 2nd Generation Starters even worth getting? I can't think of anyone that uses them really.
Meaning Gold/Silver starters, I'd imagine people using them, they're just well..... a bitch to get. you have to complete the Hoenn dex in R/S/E to get one, I believe.
Other than that. Totodile is Awesome, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Post Elite four, I will trade a fucking legendary if I have to to get a Totodile. And I'll breed another and name it Walker. because ChuckNorris won't fit.

look at a pokemons page
look at the very very bottom where it shows egg groups, for each one there will be a dropdown menu or two showing which pokemon it can breed with.

they hatched to be a male and female drifloons :^: meaning, that those two are gonna get it on so i can start trading them on the GTS and to you guys.

No. The pokemon you're looking at the entry of can breed with anything on any of the drop down lists on its page plus Ditto.
Those lists contain the entire egg group's roster so anything within the same dropdown list can breed with each other.
