So, is there any reason I haven't heard much talk about Skarmory? It used to be the standard in every single goddamn competitive team, and I haven't heard anyone ask for one or start breeding them.
I was going to breed Skarmorys(ies?) today, but have they changed the movesets and/or attack types enough that Skarmory is no longer an essential part of every team?
If they're still as good as they have been, in an hour I'll be up to my neck in them if anyone wants one.

No, what I'm saying is in every competitive environment I've ever been in, seen, or heard of, Skarmory was a mainstay in EVERY freaking team.
However, now since Pearl/Diamond has come out, I haven't heard a peep from anyone about Skarmory at all. Initially, I just assumed that people haven't been able to switch them over yet, or were still focused on finishing the game and getting their favorites.
However, it's been over a week now, and out of everyone around here porting their pokeymans over, I haven't heard anything about getting Skarmorys up and running for breeding/training. I find it peculiar, since Skarmory was so integral in competitive play.
I finally traded for a Skarmory (and it was one of 5 pokeymans I initially sought out to get since I could access the GTS), and I was wondering if they changed the mechanics or movesets of Skarmory enough to warrant it falling out of favor.
From what I heard, it was because of the switch of many moves from attack to special attack and vice versa that Skarmory pretty much became average. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
well around here I think the general sentiment is to avoid the netbattle mentality. Skarmory is still good (although the physical/special split has opened up some new ways of dealing with it), but the teams we're thinking of for the G&T vs. SE++ tournament are not at all supposed to have netbattle levels of min/maxing. It's supposed to be a much more amateur, casual competition.
And I'm still looking for cyndaquil and chikorita to complete my starter collection. I can provide you with any of the other starters except mudkip and torchic, which I still need to transfer later today.
