Does it actually cancel the hum or does it bring it back into the signal
Think S-S-H Strat and when you select the tribucker it is similar to selecting the S-H selection.
My pickup selection goes:
Jazzmaster neck, Jazzmaster neck + top single coil, single coil, single coil + humbucker, and humbucker.
In other news I finally got the courage to put my demo album up on soundcloud.
It still needs guitar and vocal recordings, and is primarily synth because I love Gary Numan and Depeche Mode.
I feel so relieved, proud, and nervous all at once.

So spanky, sparkly, clear and no hum?
Hmm.

Does anyone have opinions on the Squier models of Jaguars and Mustangs? I currently lack an electric and those are guitars I've always wanted but I'm not in a position to pay for the Fender models at the moment.
Really go to rondomusic.com and find a low-end Agile that you like. I have always had a good experience with them; they are consistent and good quality, and most importantly they stay in tune.
If for some reason the one you are sent isn't up to your expectations, the return/exchange policy is excellent. They can send another of the same model for you to try or just flat out refund your money.
Agile guitars are just as good as the real deals but a fraction of the price. And they also make good template guitars if you wanna yank out the electronics and replace the pickups to have a nice little custom axe down the road.

I really want to get a SX Liquid from Rondo... maybe after the next paycheck I may treat myself.
As a bunch of people have said, the really cheap guitars aren't necessarily garbage, they're just more likely to be so. I have one of the cheap Epiphone Les Paul's but the tone is gorgeous on it. It seriously plays like a much more expensive guitar.
My Ibanez Rocket V
I got it off someone with everything the pickups and turners and such
But Other than getting it refretted I have done nothing with it as I just don't know what to finish it as

I like my Emily is Strange SG
I know it's a cheapish guitar but since I was scared to mess up my v90d playing rocksmith I got it

I have no clue what this is or even what it sounds like but I am totally in love with the fact that it's matte black. Like, when I build a guitar this is what it's going to look like. Everything will be matte black, except for the tuning pegs, the strings, and the...that thing on the other end that holds the strings. Like, the string butt-holder or whatever it is. That's all the chrome you need on a guitar that powerfully black

And the answer is none. None more black.
I'm still undecided. I want to see what it'd look like if the frets were black, too.

Here's my current bass, spoiled for scroll :
It's a Fender Squier Precision Bass, couple of years away from being able to smoke.
Got it for like 150 bucks with the hard case and got them to throw in a vox headphone amp at a pawn shop. It's in pretty good shape I think, the body doesn't have any major scratches or dings, I just needed to replace that one missing knob and eventually the pickguard as it seems to be kinda ill-fitting?
I'm not sure I wanna get another any time soon but if I get rich and/or dumb I would love to get a 1961 Gibson EB-0 or a Azurglo Model 4001 Rickenbacher because I am a huge nerd.

By golly, this thing is beautiful. I was worried about how long it would take to ship because I'll only be here a couple more weeks but it just arrived today! It sounds fantastic too.
e: Whoops, here ya go!
learn to play guitar is one of the things I want to do in the weird wild year of 2017!
and like, not trying to self-teach from Youtube videos and junk
You live in a major metropolitan area. Just take a gander at the corkboard inside the Starbucks at the end of your block and I'm certain there's a posting offering guitar lessons on the cheap.

The birds spoke to me as well and honestly played a larger part in me picking a PRS guitar than they really should have.

Fitting, since it leads right in to where all the solos happen.

I'm sure there's one of those around somewhere too, but those lessons aren't guitar lessons
Huh I had you pegged for a skin flute guy myself
You're going to want to play down close to the bridge
