I look forward to seeing it, but I would hazard a guess that some level of perfectly overpowering content was involved to get around vast amounts of RNG.
Which was entirely possible in that game. Even without unreasonable grinding.
Was not a fan of the Arkham City playthrough, I'm hoping that PJ's co op run of Batman Forever makes up for it. Became a fan of the man after the Hype Mode Bionic Commando run he did two years ago after seemingly everyone in the thread said it was a must watch.
Edit - the Final Fantasy playthrough was something I thought I wouldn't be able to sit through but I watched at least two hours of it combined, very interesting to be able to sit and listen to them just break down everything. Very informative playthrough that made it a lot of fun to watch, loved listening to the two talk. Was a great way to wind down before going to bed for the night too.
Yeah the actual gameplay of the Final Fantasy run wasn't very exciting, since there is only so much you can do as the player. It was the commentary that really made it worth watching, they just know so much about the game and how it works (or doesn't) and I found it really interesting. Also I think they beat the game in under 4 hours which was pretty neat.
The Arkham City playthrough was only moderately interesting, since so much of it involved glitching the game to get out of bounds and skip everything. It did inspire me to start a new Arkham Asylum playthrough though, this time with a controller instead of mouse and keyboard.
I tuned in during the middle of this co-op Batman Forever run and it's really great. I'm going to have to watch it from the beginning later.
I didn't realize PJ was the runner who did that amazing Hype Mode Bionic Commando, can't believe that was two years ago already. These two have great charisma.
Man that interview they had with the guy that played Rocky & Bullwinkle and the guy who's going to play Big Nose the Caveman (wtf?) was amazing. I'm so glad I'm awake for this.

just why? or whatever it was made me laugh real hard.
Cheetahmen is actually kind of interesting with just how bad it is. There was a PA guy that did a pretty informative Let's Play of the series (that's right, it's a trilogy, all on the same cart) a few years ago. Gilder, I think it was.
I have no idea why I'm doing this, but after watching that interview earlier I feel compelled to actually watch Big Nose the Caveman. Hopefully it lives down to expectations.
It takes true talent to condense the essence of pure movie schlock into a game, and Timecop managed to pull it off gloriously.
this run was on at stupid o'clock in the morning for me. will definitely have a look once its up on VOD though. did the meet the incentive for the cutscenes?

How could it be a trilogy? They didn't even finish the one we just saw!

Amazingly, there are three Cheetamen games: one busted ass one on the NES Action 52, a slightly less busted ass one for the Genesis version, and an honest-to-got legit busted ass sequel that was never released, but of which about a thousand copies were made and stored someplace until people found it.

Yeah, I misremembered there being 3 games on the Action 52. But Gilder did totally LP the first two!
It seems the videos are dead links, though. Too bad, I was feeling nostalgic about them.
Is Cheetahmen notoriously unplayable? Like they had a contest to see how far people could get, but the game crashes after the first or second level and so you can't actually go farther?

I remember in the AVGN review that he got to the Monkey and beat him and then it froze his character on that screen, not allowing him to advance any further.
It's the last day of the marathon! This thing ends tonight around midnight eastern, but it could go longer or shorter depending on set-up time (currently it's closer to 1am).

Did anyone else watch the Vice City run? Ordinarily wouldn't have been something I'd have watched but it ended up being run of the show for me. The guy running explained exactly what he was doing and the reasons behind it the entire time and had good banter along the way. Just a very unexpectedly entertaining run.

Cheetahman was so. Awful.
Also the obscene prices it goes for on ebay. There's that too.
I also genuinely think the music is pretty cool.
-edit- That was pretty dang entertaining.
I feel like I've played this before somewhere...
Weird.
Link to VOD?
Nevermind, not up on YouTube yet.

It says like 180k people are watching the stream, but when I try to go to it, nothing happens.
Edit, nevermind. Apparently it's my browser, phone app works fine. Weird.
