Beasteh what's the setup you had with that Golbez, against which fight? It doesn't give him En-Dark or anything, and C2 is just 10.2/4 Dark (raised to 12.24 if you're wielding the staff). To hit for 9999x4 implies some pretty heavy stacking.
It's something I would really have enjoyed pulling, since I have his +Dark Heavy Armor from an eternity ago, but I'm not gonna whale for it and I'm already sort of overflowing with caster options. I suspect it'll be back in the 2AC banners so I might have another shot or two then, but I can always RW it onto... well, my own Golbez, hah.

will do when the ults are released, my IV CM team is dark mage meta
(Golbez BSB, Fusoya SSB, Palom SSB, Edward SB, Rosa ?????, honestly I might just take Rydia with her SSB, from the self-healing Golbez BSB does and someone having Drainga it should be plenty)
Relic poll is interesting. There are obvious correct answers for the OSBs and SSBs, but the BSB category has too much amazing stuff in it. Assuming the poll is being used to populate Ultros Select, I hope the other good BSBs end up on the other festival banners.
I was hoping to see the Tidus BSB of some kind on the BSB select page, since I really need more Water abilities, and also really could use some more FFX DPS synergy.
Golbez BSB can solo the CM, so you should be fine with that much other payload to throw at it. Just add whichever white mage with Protectga, Curaja, and doublecast White and you should be fine.
1/11, FuSoYa's robe. Somewhat disappointed, but it should have a use. My only other native stacking faithga is Celes's, which is pretty tough to squeeze into a proper mage team.
That also brings my Imperil collection up to four across three elements: fire x 2, dark, holy (although holy is Raines and not one of the good ones).
Also I now have two stacking party Mindgas on the catastrophically slim chance that that somehow becomes relevant.

I'm gonna keep singing the praises of Fusoya's robe in a world with Metamorphose RW in it, it you already have a haste/faith in your Mage team.

Fusoya's SSB is a real boon for darkness mage teams, probably best as a RW though
It's a tricky include because apart from Darkra/Drainga he's not going to be exploiting the vulnerability himself, and you still have to get Hastega from somewhere. He could certainly call down the Raines RW himself, but now you need native Hastega, Wall and a Medica.
I maintain that it's probably way better in a Dark-themed Multiplayer party than it is in a 5 person solo party. There's not much room in a Mage Meta team for someone who brings a buff/imperil combo that they can't really natively exploit. In an MP party, he can get his Sage on.

I suppose my thinking was that I'd put him in my secondary DPS slot for a Mage team, rather than the Faithga slot.
The problem of course, is as you say; you can't use Fusoya's move, Wall and Faithga on the first turn. Probably I'd let Fusoya wait, and have someone else use the first charge of the Raines RW.
Krile gets bonus SB to get set up but is screwed if her BSB falls off early. Kefka has buckets of extra gauge but can't spend it. Only one damaging SB. Have to run Kefka Hastega over Ley Lines. Frigging break requirements.
If I only need one stat break and can live without Multibreak, I can put Kefka in Cait Sith's spot and put Kuja in the MM/DZ slot with an SSB that does actual damage. Still a bit sketchy though.

Between the high regen from Cat Shit and the spammable medica command from Aeris, this is exactly the sort of party I would try to get away without Wall. RW Metamorphose on one of those top three characters and just punch stuff to death. If you're worried about Krile being in trouble if she falls out of burst mode, move Protectga down to FuSoYa's "whatever" spot and give her the Chain Firaga (switching FuSoYa to Chain Whateverga).
He's not opening with either Aerith's BSB nor Cat Shit's (lol) Multibreak, though, so he basically has to Curaja until he can get those up. On a fight with any sort of AoE at all, not having Wall would be pretty hard to deal with. Unless he doesn't open with Fusoya's SSB, in which case what is Fusoya really doing there?
I originally didn't want to stick FuSoYa with Protectga for hone reasons. Chain Firaga is R3, Thundaga is R2, and everything else is R1. But I think I might just say fuck it and hone Chain Firaga to R4. It would obliterate my Black and NE stores, but I have two enFires, two Imperil Fires, and access to the Red Armlet if I want it. It's not like I'm ever going to regret not picking a different element.
EDIT: It's "she", by the way.

Ahhh, Ogopogo, you have always been such a freaken jerk instantly starting with two AoE attacks.
Also, apparently Dr Mog wasn't joking when he said that the lightning counter would hurt. Kain's en-Lightning'd Lightning Dive was a sliver away from killing the damn snake, and it countered for ~4k through wall, Full Break, Power Breakdown, and Y'sthola's bubble.
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."

I think I was envisioning MM/DMT on Kefka and Cat, with Ace Striker and Battleforged on FuSoYa and Aeris. But yeah, fair point, at that point it is sort of like "why even bother with FuSoYa."

I think I'd make a second R3 Chain Firaga before I took the first one to R4. But I'd also get Chain Thundaga and Chain Blizzaga up to R3 even before that. Even without any special en-element or imperil shenanigans, they're still plenty good, especially when you're hitting (relatively common) weaknesses.

At first I thought, wait, Fusoya is female? And then I facepalmed. Sorry!
There's no trick to unlocking record materia is there? I mean, aside from meeting the level and prerequisite rm requirements?
Some RMs are locked to particular realms (FuSoYa, Rydia, and both Cecils, for instance), or are locked to specific realm dungeons (Cloud, notably), so check the in-game RM list or Ye Olde PDF. Other than that...sometimes you will just have to carry a particular character with you for months before it'll drop.
If it's a particularly critical RM, you can try running the 2 stamina dungeon in an event over and over for the most chances at a drop, but there's no guarantee.

Well I feel like an idiot now, no wonder Cloud wouldn't drop his rm.

Guess reading really is fundamental!
Don't feel too bad. I tried for a long ass time to get the 99 RMs to drop. A little reading got me sorted out on that one.
does anyone else run the mid-level elite stages (lodestone cavern, in this instance) of events to learn new SBs instead of waiting until sundaily
because actual character exp is so precious
The xp to learn a soul burst is just awarded as 10 percent of the character xp. Doesn't matter how you learn it, if you run Sundaily or any other dungeon, you're still going to miss out on the same amount of character xp.
Does realm exp make it go faster? I'm pretty sure the doubling from RMs doesn't apply when it comes to item exp.
I'm getting around 980 boosted soul break exp per character with a 4 man IV synergy party running the 17 stam Lodestone Cavern stages which is way more efficient than doing Fridaily
Means I will be able to devote 100% of my Sundaily exp to levelling Palom and Fusoya to 80
Ya'll are talking about IV CM as if it's going to be terribly difficult. He's vulnerable to holy and slow, is physical only, and you'll mitigate a bunch of damage with dark resist. I'm pleased to have Song of Swiftness and three decent mage stat sticks with mostly-useless SBs, but I don't see why tha's not more than sufficient. Holy weak! RW Metamorphose, probably use a secondary healer/slowbot, and he'll be down within six rounds. What am I missing that people with 3+ native RS BSBs are worried?
Now Dark Bahamut, on the other hand, is gonna be a slog. RW Quistis BSB is as far as my planning has gotten; might have to go physical on that one, and I'm short on useful non-elemental BSBs.

Staff boosts dark by 20%, I had Seymour's Robe equipped which is another 20%
Plus the burst mode gives +20% MAG
Fairly easy to cap

I used Kain throughout the autobaytle portion of the event, instead of Pecil.
I'm never going to get Pecil's Record Materias if I keep forgetting to use him for FFIV content.

I did not get Rosa's BSB, which sucks. And that might really hurt me for the 160 CM mission.
BUT!
I did draw Cecil's OSB. I can't stop getting Cecil Relics. Pretty sure I've got the complete Cecil collection (still).
I also got Golbez's Summon Mode BSB.
That puts me at 4 BSB's in this realm, and one OSB, so even though my healing is gonna be weak, I might be able to power through with brute force.
Cecil - BSB, OSB, SSB
Kain - BSB, SSB
Rydia - BSB

Also, is three Faithgas not overkill? I assumed it would be, but I guess none of them are 50% like Shout is.

Eh, Mist Cave is a thing. Just run 2 stamina levels repeatedly until he drops it. A good thing to do with leftover stamina at the end of the day.

The first question was tricky. "Who is your favorite character in the Final Fantasy series?"
