I'm Backing up my Music...

I just bought a CD and wanted to back it up on my computer. I'd like the format of the music to be in mp3, so I can put it on my creative if I please.

Mind helping me out, or pointing me inthe right direction?

    I'm not really sure of what you're asking. Do you want to know how to put it down as mp3? All you need to do it put the cd in the drive, open windows and 'rip' music. Aslong as you don't do it through itunes it will put it through as mp3.

    Itunes. Just go to preferences, set to MP3 instead of AACS it's pretty straight forward and keeps your library tidy.

    I'm nto using Itunes. I understand using windows to rip it, my verison of media player was out dated, and didn't have Mp3 as a format. :O! I downloaded the new version

    I'm trying to get it into mp3. I succeeded into getting it into .mwa which is hope acceptable to my mp3.

    If you want the best quality then use Exact Audio Copy in "secure" mode for ripping and LAME to encode it to .mp3 (use the stable version 3.97).
    These might not be very user-friendly though.

    If you really want a backup then you can also compress .wavs ripped through EAC with FLAC or some other lossless codec and burn it in that form to a DVD with some other albums saved in the same manner (a DVD±R should hold ~10 CDs in FLAC).
