If It's Yellow Let It Mellow [Trump/Russia Scandal]: Timeline, News, Analysis
If this dossier is fake, I think the real story here is how all of it is just so...believable.
This is the kind of thing that should be a political witch hunt, this is Vince Foster levels of conspiracy theory nonsense...if it were anyone else. The big problem for Trump here is that the way he's been acting and his character both make this story believable for a lot of people. And he lies about everything, so why would people believe him on this?
If only a few things out of that document are true, this is...is it treason? It might be sedition, I'm not sure. But it's definitely impeachment-worthy.
My prediction is that the headline grabbing bit (piss) is fake or at least unverifiable, the other stuff is true, then the piss thing being fake undermines the story in peoples minds.
I mean, there's a world where it could be fake, and the sources are real, but in on the fake. Russia could have set it all up to further cause chaos abd destabilization in the US. And Trump thinks he's the coolest kid by "using" Russia.
But if that's the case, Trump is playing checkers and Putin is on some Star Trek-ass chess.
He admits to going to Italy in July, and Czech Republic is in the EU. So yeah, that disproves nothing.
For those not familiar with the EU, once you have entered one of the EU nations you can travel between them freely. He could have driven to Prague with no real fuss. Italian Autostradas are easily the equal of German Autobahns.
If the FBI was asking for a FISA wiretap order of him in July, you can bet somebody in the FBI/CIA had their eyes on him in the time period.
The sky was full of stars, every star an exploding ship. One of ours.

Kinda wonder if the reason this is only coming out now is that this is the moment when Russia wanted the new regime to really start getting destabilized and Russian intelligence leaked this info themselves (through a mediator or something). If we start seeing leaks of info clearly stolen via GOP hacks, this will support my hypothesis. Russia has played us all for the fools we are.

Part of Russia's new political strategy of chaos is to make it so the best action the USA can take is the one that destabilizes us the most.

I meant more that legally, someone might take it hard if they come out alone. Together they are safe. It's more a cowardice thing than a "should" thing.

It's coming out now because someone, either the POTUS, PEOTUS, or one of the US security chairs in congress, leaked a memo to the press. So it's not likely to be a plot by Russia.
A senior U.S. intelligence official with knowledge of the preparation for the meeting with Trump told NBC News that the president-elect was not briefed on the so-called two-page addendum to the dossier originally generated as part of anti-Trump Republican opposition research.
Multiple officials say that the summary was included in the material prepared for the briefers, but the senior official told NBC News that the briefing was oral and no actual documents were handed to the Trump team.
"Intel and law enforcement officials agree that none of the investigations have found any conclusive or direct link between Trump and the Russian government period," the senior official said.
According to the official, the two-page summary about the unsubstantiated material made available to the briefers was to provide context, should they need it, to draw the distinction for Trump between analyzed intelligence and unvetted "disinformation."
The briefers also had available to them unvetted "disinformation" about the Clinton Foundation, although that was not shared with Trump.
Edit: Sean Spicer claimed Trump doesn't know Carter Page. Trump told the Washington Post last year that Carter Page was an adviser. Casual lying is just normal now.

The last thing the Russians want is for a President friendly to them to be destabilized. They're probably very unhappy right now, and they'd probably be just as unhappy if it was just about the "defiling the bed" stuff.
As plausible as this whole thing sounds ill be right pissed (haha) if it turns out to be false. Of course not quite sure how you will be able to verify this info. I assume there is more information to this whole thing other than the 35 page summary and that the former MI6 guy has quite detailed info which has been passed on to the intelligence community.
My prediction is that the headline grabbing bit (piss) is fake or at least unverifiable, the other stuff is true, then the piss thing being fake undermines the story in peoples minds.

Funnily enough, none of the headlines give a fuck about the prostitutes or the piss.

Yeah all the headlines I'm seeing are about Russia. The only people who are talking about pee are on Facebook and other places and are just laughing and shaking their heads like "WE FUCKING TOLD YOU IDIOTS"

Unless the ploy is to make Trump cling even harder to them. Abuser handbook - knock 'em down so they can't stand on their own two feet and make them more dependent even as they are hurt more. Bullying behavior works very well on bullies (see: Chris Christie) and Putin is the alpha bully. Plus, if Trump completely destroys the intelligence operations of the US to try to 'protect' himself, Russia will be able to infiltrate even more.

Which is the right play.
Honestly, whatever Trump decided to get up to with consenting sex workers in the relative privacy of his Russian hotel room is only an issue because we might choose to make it one.
But getting bribed with stuff that links his personal fortune to relaxing sanctions on Russia? That's deeply fucked and a huge problem.
Tapper seemingly confirmed Cohen’s story. “People tried to run that down and concluded it was a different Michael Cohen. It was a Michael Cohen with a passport from another country, same birth year, different birth date,” he said.
“For him to dispute he was in the Czech Republic comports with our reporting,” Tapper said. “It’s one of the reasons the intelligence chiefs did not get specific with these allegations. That’s why I hope at the press conference today people are more general, because a lot of that stuff just has not been proven.”
...One of the things I find most frustrating about the implementation of modern search engines is that it is impossible to find non-contemporary information after a big story breaks. If I wanted to find-out about Trump's relationship to a different Michael Cohen, I probably could have found such information prior to the explosion of this news. Now all you can find is different little opinion pieces all over about either this specific incident or something Trump's lawyer/advisor/spokesman said during the election.
This is quite the curious rabbit hole.

You can use Google date settings to search before a given date. But yes, SEO and info propagation strategy are fun confounding factors when trying to look stuff up yourself via the internets.
Christopher Steele, Ex-British Intelligence Officer, Said to Have Prepared Dossier on Trump
Former spy is director of London-based Orbis Intelligence Ltd.
Mr. Steele, 52 years old, is one of two directors of the firm, along with Christopher Burrows, 58.
Christopher Steele sounds like a fake name like you would see in a bad video game or a porno.
Edit:
Speaking about corporate-intelligence work in general terms, Mr. Burrows said “the objective is to respond to the requirements set out by our clients. We have no political ax to grind.”
He said when clients asked a firm like Orbis to investigate something, you “see what’s out there” first and later “stress test” your findings against other evidence.
I sweat to God this is like a boilerplate Tom Clancy novel. It even involves fucking Prague and an ex M16 spook with 'Steele' as a last name.
I'm expecting the sex workers to appear on TV any hour now, threatening to blow-up the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan with a nuclear device if their demands aren't met.
EDIT: Also the plot twist with the Michael Cohen being a different Michael Cohen from the original suspect.

He could have taken the train. (Where he could pay cash) you would have to have ID to rent and the agency would almost certainly have mileage or gps records.

I'm gonna need more proof than an unnamed basketball source considering how slimy this administration has been.
A magic 8 ball could have told you that
I really am curious where this will lead to though as this is just the cream of the top
So I guess a gimp was involved.

Hey everyone it's cool Trump checked with Russia and they said they totally didn't coordinate with his campaign.
If this is fake, it's the kind the fake news makers wish they were making.
Oh god he said "leak"
But if that's the case, Trump is playing checkers and Putin is on some Star Trek-ass chess.
He's firing everyone in the IC and replacing them with his flunkies
So, essentially, yes
