Hi all,
I think this is the right place to get an answer to my question. I have a good collection of books. Some of the rare books are passed over by my uncle. I tried scanning the books using the canon scanner but shadows are appearing when scanned. Few books are very old to difficult to scan. I read about converting documents into digital format (
http://www.ashconversions.com/resources) using digital imaging technology. Is it possible to do so, in my situation too? If not, please suggest some other method.
Thanks

If I had a few old books I wanted to scan, I would go to the next university library because they often have those things. Will probably cost a fee of some sort, but still way cheaper than buying a new scanner.
The other thing to try would be to simulate an overhead scanner with great lighting and a digital camera but I have no experience with that.
