I was looking forward to Disco dancing

    But this minigame is garbage.

Man I love that minigame! It's just simple enough to understand and just hard enough to drive me up the wall on normal difficulty

I'm getting better at it, though

It kinda feels like a crapshoot as to whether or not I actually get a hit on the squares. Like, it really seems like I'm hitting the buttons at the right time but apparently I'm not! Then the chase sequences when there's like 3-5 or so tiles to hit in succession, I never get those. The timing's just way too wonky with you needing to move.

So is Dead Souls any good? I just came into the series with Yakuza 0, so I'm not sure if its poor performance is because of how Yakuza has performed up to this point, or if it's really a step down.

Also note that I'm not much of a zombie fan, but I do appreciate the odd instance where instead of being grim and serious, the piss is taken out of it (like Dead Rising to a degree), and that seems like something Yakuza would do well.

They should have stuck with the dance battle system from 5

Eh, it has a lot of the 'Yakuza-ness' of the other games, but I thought the zombie shooting stuff was just kinda dull.

The most irritating thing about the cabaret is that I'm not pulling in anything but poor motherfuckers yet.

But I am partners with the porno video place so I dunno

Yeah, you just gotta build up your fans in the area (which includes partnering with every business you can find)

I'm usually getting Average/Wealthy people now, with a smattering of Mega-Rich

I unlocked Kiryu's property minigame last night.

As someone who obsessed over buying every property in the Fable games and AC2, I am fucking all about this stuff.

If it's anything like Kiryu's stuff, you gotta do it the hard way

Or you can look up Youtube videos, like I did for Kiryu

There's no indication on the map where the properties/partners are located, so you either run around searching for the Buy prompt or look them up on Youtube

The translation guide back when the game came out in japan has some good maps that show all the businesses for both characters.

I snagged this game off the suggestion of @YaYa and man oh man am I loving it

It's the hardest I've clicked with a game since Stardew Valley

Though it does reinforce my conspiracy theory that nobody actually knows how to play mahjong and it's all just one great big Numberwang-esque goof

So I made a vow to complete every submission in the game.

Which means I need to do the telephone club stuff for Kiryu now.

Guys, the telephone club minigame is really weird. Also just from a gameplay perspective it's pretty annoying.

My aim was to do all the sub-stories, but I checked out partway through phone club. I did not want to do that whole process over and over until I completed all of them.
Plus I was terrible at the dancing mini-game and probably wouldn't finish the challenges there either.
I do feel like I missed a handful of Majima side stories though.

Wrapped up the game over the weekend. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Tonight in Yakuza 0, I beat up a bunch of Tea Party stand-ins and accidentally established Japan's tax system, then learned how to breakdance people into unconsciousness

This is the best fucking game

Weird thing about the phone club.

I find it a little more difficult when using one of those new DS4s. Charging the shots with the right stick is a bit more finicky for some reason.

    In Japanese games yes.

Fishing is a pretty big deal in Japan from what I understand.

I mean I guess that doesn't mean they necessarily have to be bad but that's why they're in every game.

And it's probably hard to make a game where you have to wait and then pull on a rod fun.

A LOT of people love fishing games.

Fishing games are not always bad. But if you don't like the idea of a fishing game of course you aren't going to enjoy them.

I mean, people actually enjoy real fishing. That's just like playing one of those fishing mini-games but you have to wait WAY longer for anything to happen.

I don't mind fishing games if they're not too involved. Like the one in Persona. Just pop it in and reel in and hey a fish.

I found a guide somewhere but I'm on my phone so I can't link it. BUT, the main takeaway is that each girl you can befriend is a different bikini color, (green, white, blue) so if you can find that guide it'll tell you which is which so you can cancel the conversation.

Here's a guide for you Stilts:
    http://www.khhsubs.com/rggzero/chatline.html

Also keep in mind that some of the girls have a multiple choice question at the start of the substory, and if you pick wrong you have to call them again to start over
