Soooo I just started the Witness, and think I stumbled into the ending?
I noticed the sun and the light surrounding a doorway were the same bright white so did the puzzle on em and at the end of the passageway was the video of a dude waking up from a simulation?
lol
Yep that's a secret ending. Don't worry. You've got lots more to find.
You're right, and oh god now I'm seeing circles and lines EVERYWHERE.
I need help with that actually.
The sun is bright, but the tower by the gate is not. I already found the back exit out of the fort. How do I light that tower up?
I think you just redo the puzzle that turned it off?
There's an alternate pattern that can be entered into the panel on the door, it's on a note in one of the chests on the island. I'm afraid I can't remember where though
In case some folks are interested in doing a bit of resistance fighting.

Yeah I underwent choice paralysis last night. Then again, I had 4 hours of sleep the night before so I also decided I was just tired and needed to go to bed early.
I blame it on being so much into MMOs for so long. I am so used to having a single game where I always had something driving me to play it or some long term goal to be excited about each night. It was always just easy to open up the same game and know I had something to do. Now I have tons of games I know I want to play, but not having that drive to get in to them yet. It usually takes playing it a bit to get that. Granted I am mostly hitting Gungeon hard right now, but I had been playing that in small bursts all day and needed to find something else to give a shot.

I've never played an XCom game before, even though I've been told I should.

The hardest part for me is usually starting games. Once I get hooked on something then its easy to see what the next thing is but the first hour or two can end up being rough if the game starts slowly. So since I work six days a week the plan is to start a new game every Sunday since I can spend a couple hours and decide if this is a game worth finishing or not. Then I can play in shorter bursts throughout the week.

This is my playstyle now too. It's hard though to commit to continuing a single player experience instead of just queuing up Hearth, Dota, or OverWatch to fill that short burst of entertainment without the commitment.
Big things are happening - I'm ancient now and have to figure out a way to celebrate. And also, I'm starting a new job in 2 weeks so I'm probably saying goodbye to the Steam thread for a while as I get ramped up and figure out how lax my internet is in the new digs.

You heard it here first, jclast needs software to test how well the internet functions at the new place!

Actually, I think he was referring to the web filtering/logging software that may or may not be in place...
Also, hey folks. Haven't been in ehre much of late. I'll be doing a review post for the games I beat lately at some point, but right now (as can be judged by my sig), I've been sucked back into Civ V.
I realized there's a grand total of two non-scenario achievements I have yet to get - 1000 temples (yeah, yeah, I know. I tend to play small maps and go cultural, so not many cities), and the "win 100 times, make 100 great generals, and have a standing army of over 100" - victim of the same thing. I'm mostly there for wins, have a bit to go for generals, and I've done the standing army one.
That itch just isn't going to be scratched until I get both of them >_<

This. I know for a fact that I won't be playing games at work. Whether I'll have the privacy and ability to forum is the question.

Thanks to the money I received for my 41st birthday today, I should have that new graphics card I was saving for by around the end of the week. Nothing very powerful, but it does at least have 4GB of memory, so I can finally try out the couple of games I have that require it. Oh look, and they just announced an official High Resolution Texture pack for Fallout 4, so I-
Note: To utilize the High-Resolution Texture Pack, make sure you have an additional 58 GB of available and that your system meets/exceeds the recommended specs below.
Recommended PC Specs
Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit OS required)
Intel Core i7-5820K or better
GTX 1080 8GB
8GB+ Ram

I'm pretty sure there are high-res textures that require less than that does...
What the fuck have they made these textures out of? Real photos? (*does not know how this stuff works*)

It takes a lot of cpu time and rendering power to calculate and render the awfulness of a Masshole after an apocalypse.

Here's a fun tip - while a lot of employers will bar traffic from non-official websites or clients like Steam, most of them will not bar traffic from remote access software like RDC or Teamviewer, which you can use to remote in to your desktop PC at home and browse/chat to your heart's content.
Get yourself a good old fashioned foot activated "boss switch" that is macro'd to minimize whatever you're looking at and pull up a fullscreen image of an Excel sheet and you're good to go!
Don't do any of this

OK, glad to see others are as surprised by those Fallout 4 texture pack spec requirements as I am. That PC I built certainly doesn't meet those requirements!
Put them to work on the next Elder Scrolls game, this is pretty much a waste of time...

Hey I have a 1070, considering those are the recommended specs and not minimum, I could likely swing that.
But woe is to the people who bought a 1080 for 4k or 2k 144hz because it was not needed for ANYTHING else. Lowering your resolution on a monitor always sucks.

The sad thing is my boss and his boss couldn't care less what I look at while at work because they know I'm an adult and know how to handle responsibility. The people that run our network, however, block anything even tangentially associated with "Games", or dastardly stuff like "Reference" or "Auctions" while Youtube, Facebook, sports sites, and most shopping sites are a-okay.

First bit of RE7 left me feeling pretty motion sick so I'm taking a break, hope it doesn't continue throughout the rest of the game. Pretty great so far.

Too much choice can be annoying. I end up not playing anything at times because of choice paralysis heh.
