    Finished Night In the Woods.

Really liked it. Funny but not afraid to get real in the most uncomfortable way. The game is structured in a "days" format and I found it a great pallete cleanser to jump in for a day at a time to come down from other bulkier games (there are seriously way too many good games out this year already) or general life stuff.

You got Wizardry in my Rogue!

You got Rogue in my Wizardry!

    Provisimo!

Two great dungeon crawlers that crawl great together!

Actually I'm not sure it's really that good (Reese's Cups are fucking amazing after all), but so far I'm having fun. You have the town and party management of WIzardry and the procedural dungeon crawling of Rogue. First impression is that it feels like a solid meeting of these two venerable styles. I'd like an option for first person views but whatever, the iso view is just fine and gives it the Rogue feel so it's appropriate. I doubt there is a lot of depth here, most likely it's a lot of grinding, but it looks like that gaming comfort food style of grinding. Chasing rare character unlocks and that sort of thing.

I'll play it some more and if I have any major revelations I'll share.

I didn't expect that I'd put 17 hours into Gunmetal Arcadia, but I keep trying to get all the damn achievements in the game now. Only three left, and I'm not entirely sure how to get two of them. I don't think many people who own the game know either, and I don't think many people in general actually bought the game. There are only 7 reviews and its Steam forum is quite dead. That's too bad. It certainly lacks the polish of other roguelites, but it's still fun.

Why am I putting my game time into Curses & Chaos as well as M&B: Warband Floris?

Both are grinding experiences that will take me months to beat.

I really wanna pick up Dirt on the PS4 if only for the VR. But if I go that route is want a wheel too and space is a luxury I don't have. Also money. Money would be nice. And time too. Can't get enough of that.

We're a bit low on food right now, since I've had a higher population than I normally do, and I'm not used to how much food they eat. The big open room at the bottom is going to be hydroponics, and the room near the medical area up north is going to be for organ donors prisoners. I have a long time colonist with asthma, and another with a bad heart. I was confident about being able to fix both of those until my doctor picked a fight with a personal shield and plasteel spear wielding brawler. RIP, whatever your name was.

That reminds me, I haven't tried the reception hall oven idea I had, yet.

Hypothetically, if I lined the outside of a longish deathlock with wood and set the wood on fire now and then, I should be able to make the interior hot enough to incapacitate or cook whoever walks in.

Alternatively, heaters might accomplish the same with less raging fires. I should test that with some prisoners.

Mordor looks like it would've been gaming heroin to my teenage self. I'd go through some hoops to make it work, but I doubt it holds up. It also looks exactly fucking identical to that Kingsway game, which is either a bizarre quirk of art-emulates-life or was the Kingsway inspiration.

As for Kingsway itself---uhhh, so it's got a windowed interface? A windowed interface with the window borders and buttons styled off of an old OS? I'm not saying I'm NOT interested, but if the game's primary selling point is a whimsical UI, that seems like a really bad sign. Also parts of it looked like it was autoplaying, although other parts looked like actual RPG fighting.

I started Rise of The Tomb Raider yesterday and I'm about 30% some with it. I just wanted to ask if the Baba Yaga DLC is doable as soon as it unlocks? I don't have a lot of the upgrades and unlockable yet and just got the rifle so I don't wanna dive into that too early and spend the day hitting my head against a wall in frustration.

I haven't played it in a long time, but I recall Baba Yaga being pretty do-able. I didn't do it as soon as it unlocked but I did it well in advance of completing the game. It's way more puzzle-y than fight-y, as I recall.

That mordor game was a lot of fun to just do experimental stuff with. It was like your own personal little dnd based sandbox.

Drake, in Tolkien lore, is just a synonym for Dragon: "Dragons were sometimes referred to as serpents, great Worms, or simply Drakes, with the first two specifying the Wingless Dragons."

Edit: Additionally, "It is presumed that, after the death of Smaug in the Third Age, the great dragons had become extinct. According to Gandalf, the fire-drake race survived until at least just before the War of the Ring, and some lesser kin survived even after the war. It may have been possible that some races of dragon still existed throughout the Fourth Age." (as per the LotR wiki and the Silmarillion)

Well, like I've said previously, it's movie continuity not book continuity, so I'm going to totally be OK with riding dragons and shit. The game looks badass. And straight up, LotR games really like including dragons, most have at least one if they're not from the movies or other book-specific canon (War in the North has one, I think?). It's more of a nitpick with the assumed lore that Smaug was really the last important dragon threat in Middle-Earth, but that's really all it is, assumed.

Tolkien really left a lot of holes in his lore (presumably on purpose; he talked about wanting others to write in his world, before his family took and kept a stranglehold on it), and a lot of assumptions and conjecture are taken as facts at this point when in fact they're really just decades of fan theory and competing unfinished manuscripts.
