Middle-Earth: Shadow of War quick look is up on Giantbomb and it looks fantastic. Actual colour tiered loot like armour and weaponry. Something like 6 zones with each the size of one of the zones in the first game. Summonable branded captain's or caragors. Sieges. Overlords. And the best thing....
MOUNTABLE BAD ASS DRAGONS!
This fills me with dread because the "two" zones in Shadows are HUGE.

Also, as a suggestion for FNG this Friday, how about some WARHAMMER? As in, both Total War: Warhammer and Vermintide? There's a new Free Lorebook DLC for Vermintide, and both games have been bundled recently so hopefully there should be enough peeps for a couple games. I should be around 10:00pm EST if anyone wants to indulge in some hammering of war!

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remake will be released on consoles 18th April and the PC version will be coming a few weeks later. The game will allow real-time switching between the original graphics and the remake's upgraded visuals or combining the classic soundtrack with the new visuals and vice versa. Also, you will be able to use the original Sega Master System passwords.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwy351pLXas

Then you might be more worried since at the end of that video, it seems each fortress and area are quickly highlighted with a red flash at the center of their forts, and I counted near 20 fortresses, and it did a really fast sweep avoiding the east of Mordor. So unless each area has multiple forts to seize, that's a lot more than 6.

Edit: As for Drake/Dragon vs Fell-Beast, I'm pretty sure the latter never breathed fire.
fell-beasts never existed at all so we can tweak some genes I think. plus Sauron could easily have added some in-demand features to the newer models.
and just because we didn't see them breathe fire doesn't mean they couldn't. maybe they were just modest
I've always wondered if they weren't meant to be "improvements" on the dragons, which Morgoth made, and in that case they would make sense to try and breed in features more helpful to his cause.

Kinda odd the game, through achievements and counter, encourages you to collect all the tickets. Chastises you for collecting the tickets. Gives you a big boss fight. Chastises you for beating the boss fight. Then leaves you hanging.
Mixed messages.
I'm less enthusiastic about the game then when I finished my first play through.
Still cool, but the 2ish hours playing the main game>the 2ish hours finding all the tickets

That reminds me, I haven't tried the reception hall oven idea I had, yet.
Hypothetically, if I lined the outside of a longish deathlock with wood and set the wood on fire now and then, I should be able to make the interior hot enough to incapacitate or cook whoever walks in.
Alternatively, heaters might accomplish the same with less raging fires. I should test that with some prisoners.

Does this pixel privateers game let you get a station master drunk and forge his signature so you can "buy" his station's battlecruisers?
That's a negatory big shoots.
I want this game, character design letting me make a swarthy crew of fireflies, an andromeda nation state, or start my own galactic religion that is stolen by my chosen son/clone/interdimensional doppelganger.
Speaking if royce_ebooks, what is that space police game where you have a black woman as captain and a dog as her first officer?
Shadow of War is Day 1 buy for me, holy hell does that game looks good.
Also, what i wrote yesterday about buying Monks and Mystics dlc for Ck II? I don't have to, Paradox sent me Steam code for reviewing purposes, when I lost hope that they would answer to my e-mail.

I don't think I've day 1 purchased anything in years. Probably 5+. Part of it is I just can't afford it, but a bigger reason is that I want all the DLC out before I play a game, because I don't afford myself the luxury of going back to games these days since I have just over 400 of them to play (if not beat).
I really wish Dragon's Dogma was better at telling me what to do and where to do it. It's just short of explaining what I'm needing to do or look for. I mean, it has Quest markers, yes, but it also seems to rarely if ever tell you where to find (for example) NPCs to continue certain quest lines. It's solid fun otherwise, though a bit generic feeling in setting, the monsters and spells are ramped to 11 in terms of visuals. The only game with this kind of world and fighting system that I've really played otherwise is Kingdoms of Amalur, and while overall I enjoyed Amalur more (thus far), Dragon's Dogma is still a fun and solid game.
Though I may actually need to bump up the difficulty; that's what happens when I summon pawns from you people who probably have hundreds of hours into the game.

It's been a very long time since I bought a game day 1 as well, and it was probably a console release. Specifically, a 360 game. Probably Batman: Arkham City. It felt worth it to me, even if it can be had for $5 with other Batman games on the regular from Bundlestars these days.
Can't even remember the last game I paid full price for on PC.

Are you summoning pawns that are higher level than you? You take a penalty to XP earned if you do (and get a bonus if they are lower level instead).

Oh, much higher level. 48 and 133, I think? No one really had ones my level that were you folks, and I don't see the point in doing it otherwise or just taking my pawn and I, as we'd likely not survive. I'm already level 20-25ish, as in the both of us are, and I don't feel an EXP penalty if one is in effect. I had had a ranger of level 22 earlier, but I out-leveled them so I replaced her.

I'll pay full price for some games. Mostly to support my favorite indie devs and because I want to show support for quality linux ports. So yeah, full price for me generally isn't AAA launch prices. Which frankly are fucking ridiculous when you add in all of the DLC. But I'll happily give developers like Zachtronics or Illwinter what they ask for their games. I know I'll be getting plenty of bang for my buck from the games they make and they need the cash a whole lot more than Activision.

Gah, how could I forget about my most recent PC purchase on the release date? All of the Binding of Isaac stuff, pretty much. Then again, all of those games have been on discount for me.
I don't mind paying full price for something if it's something I really want and I have the money. I've preordered Andromeda and ESO: Morrowind. I bought ReCore at full price. Tomb Raider. Hell, I can't even name specific things now, but there's been a fair number. I'd merrily throw the money at Nier Automata, too, if I hadn't thrown it at my car instead last week. And the day Hellblade becomes buy-able, I'm there.
Basically, I'm just terrible at "eh, I'll wait for a sale." Terrible.
Housing project come back a few hundred dollars cheaper than expected? Time to buy some video games.
Consider me now fully prepared to not have enough time to play Nier, Mass Effect, and more Hearthstone.

Well, sure, Dark Souls 3. And Rise of the Tomb Raider.
And Senran Kagura Estival Versus, and Gal*Gun, and Valkyrie Drive, Gravity Rush 2, DOAX3, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Hatsune Miku Future Tone, Horizon Zero Dawn, NieR, CoD:IW and a bunch of trashy visual novels.
Hardly any.
Hmm, this may be why I sometimes wonder where the paycheck went.

Of course, I always forget that I've bought every single WoW expansion on release. And with the exception of the most recent one, they were all boxed versions of the collector's editions. I finally went digital when Legion came out.
I was just listening to a podcast interview with Amy Hennig from last year, and I think I'd be prepared to shell out full price for that Star Wars game she's working on. Obviously I'd have to see it in action first, but her track record is great.
Anyone have any Steamlink experience? Since I've been playing Breath of the Wild I've realized that I do miss playing from the couch (especially now that we have a puppy that hangs out on the couch with me), but there's a very noticeable difference between something like Rise of the Tomb Raider on my Xbox one and on my PC. I've got a pretty crazy router, which should in theory provide as good of a connection as ethernet would (speed-wise, at least). Is it possible to play something like, say, Deus Ex via Steamlink and not have any noticeable visual degradation or lag, assuming the connection is fast enough? Follow-up: Does the wireless Xbox One controller work with Steamlink? Final question: If I have a spare laptop, is there any advantage other than form factor for buying a Steamlink instead of just doing streaming to the computer?

I haven't tried it again lately but there apparently have been performance upgrades though a direct link from Steam to your computer will naturally be best. As long as you aren't playing hyper-twitchy games that require quick and precise movements you should be fine. Playing Mad Max on the tv was a blast and very few performance issues. I would believe Deus Ex would play just fine.

Not sure about the wireless Xbox One controller, it's listed here it works fine wired but needs another program (VirtualHere) to work with wireless.. I used a wired 360 and apparently my PS4 controller should work fine so that's nice to know.
As for the laptop, I guess it's a question of how beefy your laptop is, but then again the Steam Link has been getting pretty cheap.
