but the reason the trends circle round so much is that you can make a good cup with almost any method, sometimes with a different twist on the flavour, so any method that picks up momentum is totally valid
percolators are not very good generally but i'm sure someone will design a premium percolator that drips the water all over instead of the middle or whatever
It fits inside a pot with a lid and a hanger perfectly, and inside the kettle is my cups and a penny alcohol stove, utensils, seasonings, scrubber, etc.
So all you see in my pack is a quart cook pot, and inside that is a bunch of other shit.
i just have a TI cup (with lid) and TI spork and a tiny isopro burner
i have a couple of alcohol tablet stoves that i've made out of heavy weight aluminum cans but i have found i don't mind the extra weight of carrying a fuel cannister around with me
the only problem with my setup is that i have to be careful with my cup as it doesn't have a long handle and it gets fuck off hot real quick
i think i'm going to find a small pot grabber clip thingy to keep with it
I got the 750ml Ti with lid and hanger and the smaller cup for christmas so those are nested together in my day pack.
For the grabber clip I usually just use two sticks but that's proven perilous before so.....
(1:38:34 PM) Matt: wait how is my truck "fancy pantsy"
(1:38:43 PM) Dan: don't you have a king ranch or something
(1:38:55 PM) Matt: it's the "big horn" edition
(1:39:03 PM) Dan: with a back row?
(1:39:24 PM) Dan: yeah that's a minivan with a tiny bed
(1:39:32 PM) Matt: haha
(1:39:49 PM) Dan: a truck should be uncomfortable, cold, and a manual
(1:40:30 PM) Matt: kind of like you on those lonely nights huh
hi im arch and i just applied for a job at a community college and im here to talk to you about lowering your standards
a lot of them have really good tenure and value pedagogy and good teaching
they also let you do some research or partner with firms and stuff
community colleges are a good thing
yeah pour over isn't as greasy/full as French press in my experience, but I feel like it is less acidic which is good
paper filter vs metal mesh I think is the biggest contributor there

Dogs? Maybe?
What's funny is I'm the furthest from a coffee snob. My all time favorite coffee is McDonalds or Foldgers classic roast. I don't like most starbucks because it's too bitter.
But I can NOT do instant coffee. Something about it just tastes off to me.

this position is 43k-69k/year plus benefits (dependent on experience, and I think I have enough weight to throw around that I should make at least 50K/year, if not more) and its basically "that class you are teaching now, teach two sections of it and maybe cell biology and or intro biology"
-Yooka-Laylee (it looks like it's coming along well - which is kinda shocking considering it's made by ex-Rare people; Rare's notorious for taking eons to get anything done)
-MST3K revival (also looking good!)
Also I bought Broken Age and its documentary series after they came out. (I really liked both, haters be damned - Broken Age is a gorgeous and charming and fun game and the documentary is a fascinating look at game development)
i like cats but i voted dogs in an attempt to woo Gooey
This is what happens when we give bugs the right to vote.

I think my ideal system would be a French press base that then gets semi-filtered into a separate decanter so you can make multiple cups and still have the French press taste without continued extraction

So they made Banjo Kazooie again? And it might be coming to Switch?

Starbucks is actually pretty bleh coffee. Overroasted and tends to taste burnt.
For chains I do Peet's. Pretty tasty for a chain. Also next to Trader Joe's so I get coffee then go pick up food and drive home. There are multiple other places better though. I remember one in Seattle I went to at PAX like in '10 that I just had an espresso shot and it was this amazing rich almost chocolatey flavor.

i would say that they have a ratio of 1/3 or 1/4 sketches being good, though they had a spike of quality recently and then it dropped to even worse subpar levels than usual. even the audience isn't laughing lately.
kate mckinnon isn't even carrying sketches like she used to
personally I think SNL is at a decade-level high at the moment, what with larry david, alec baldwin coming and doing a bunch of cool shit, and guests like Aziz Ansari, Dave Chappelle, etc.
And Weekend Update has just been absolutely scathing; better than the daily show at the moment.
i totally disagree. the weekend update has been funny but politically weaksauce "both sides are the same" half the time.
noah was pretty weak for a while but the trump stuff has revitalized the show and is pretty biting.
I feel like we were watching different shows. The most they ever hit hillary on for during the campaign was how robotic and not-human she came across, and how she felt like it was her time.
They really, truly, took to trump as hard as I have ever seen them do for a politician, and continue to do so. "Both sides are the same" is not a message I would ascribe to their coverage over the past year or so.

I mean, really, the Cat-servatives have spent many years gerrymandering the districts and winning smaller battles at the local level quietly, while putting forth traditionally Dog-positive racially and gender diverse candidates to win those seats. They took it right out of the Dog playbook.

I detest Starbucks. I like Dunkin Donuts coffee almost exclusively.

i have a floppy silicone bowl that i have used too as an improvised oven mitt but that means i can't have a drink and boil water at the same time which is a bummer
this one is $3 and looks like it would work fine. I'd probably just hang it off my pack somewhere.

makes good coffee, but is technically not a percolator even though it's a similar process.
it's closer to a vaccum pot, but still its own thing

Unless your dreams are too hard. Then lower your standards. This applies to jobs, love, food, sleep, art, etc.
