That's a pretty good spot. You don't need to feel compelled to push for another veteran chest, you're getting most of the epic chests without having a lot of "wasted" levels past 550, and any playing you do over the next 3 weeks can still increase your 2.0 rewards.
Having been on the receiving end of a coordinated team with Valkyrie, that shit is powerful when used properly. It's actually harder to avoid then you'd think cause despite the seemingly huge windup you do actually have to react to it fairly quickly so if you throw it down in the middle of a fight or in a position where it's hard to change directions, it'll pick nicely. Works good on maps with tight corridors.

Not a whole lot yet, some interesting questions they have not gotten around to answering yet (but I assume they will because it was posted by a blizzard account to reply to)

I'm typing from my phone, so not easily. Maybe someone else can.
They did just answer one that was on my radar - which was they are no longer going to make Master Skins for future heroes. So a new hero MAY have 2 skins, or maybe not. That is kind of a bummer.
Also no plans to disable sprays, etc. Also a bummer
Also a lame answer regarding epic skins that became legendary was mostly "it's a new system so we just turned the cool skins to legendary"
The master skin thing would be a bummer if most of the master skins weren't trash.
They clearly didn't really know what they were doing in most cases with the turning the dial to 11 on heroes as they always said, so probably for the best. The only master skins I want and don't have are Varian and Chromie, and I suck with both of them so no real loss anyway.

True but it sounds like whether they have two skins at launch is now artist preference and/or "whatever we can get done." I was kind of hoping with the elimination of master skins maybe that would mean two "cool" skins vs. one cool skin and one "the base skin dialed to 11" skin
I wager in a lot of cases it was possible to have 2 skins done because the master skin is just the base skin except we also put a big hat on them! And add some fiddly bits on the weapon and we're done.
@shryke, I'm worried there may be either an error in your spreadsheet or in the data we're working from.
In your spreadsheet, level 20 1.0 translates to level 58 2.0, but everything I've seen from a Blizzard source says level 20 converts to level 55 in 2.0.

It's hard to get regular playing times. We had a team for a hot minute and we played several TL games, but after a few months it becomes hard to maintain the schedule, especially if people have different expectations with regards to the time and dedication involved.

it also gets rough on your tank player when the rest of your team literally never wants to initiate :P
Dunno if this is in that Reddit thread but alarak is getting an update
I sure fucking hope this means Double Cross.
If they're trolling us and it's like, goddamn Extended Lightning or something, boooooo.
It's gonna be Double Cross. Whenever something is made baseline, it's always the talent that has the 80%+ pick rate. Of course it often comes with nerfs alongside it, but I think Alarak is meh tier enough right now that his talent overhaul might not be the typical nerf-fest.
My level from shryke's spreadsheet for HOTS makes me feel like I don't play that often. I've only got a few heroes I enjoy so I've got a few level 11s and 12s with a good base of support, specialist, and warrior/tanks at level 7 or 8. This only translates to roughly 258 for me. My player level is maxed out so I'm not sure if that has any bearing on things.
I'll have to double check all of my heroes when I get home tonight just to make sure, but I'm a little disappointed in my overall level. I do need to still enter experience values for my heroes though so that might give me more than I think for the 2.0 conversion.
So this is that crazy game from this morning. Look at the kill totals. We were thisclose to pulling this off. Got their core down to 52% and had the winning Golem walking towards it when they wiped us the final time.

Better than me Though I did take a lot of time off the game so I am not surprised. Still, seems like everyone has these heroes waaaay above level 10 and here I struggle getting anyone to 9
So I'm 533 just on raw level count, which sounds about right. I'll put in the xp for my higher level characters when I get home, bet it's somewhere around low 600 so really no reason to change my don't level characters much plan because getting to 700 would be days and days of playtime or burn through all my remaining easy levels for one chest. A good chest to be sure, but just one.

Baiting out Twilight Dream as Zeratul is so satisfying. Especially when you Rewind back in and still get the kill.

Was looking at the different skins on the official page, and man I do not like Jaina's pantsuit redesign. She doesn't look like a sorcerous princess anymore. With the white bell-bottoms and platform heels she looks like a single lady in NYC or LA in the 70's, about to go out with her girlfriends to the disco or a night on the town. She likes the nightlife. She likes to boogie.

Something about loot chests to be aware of, from the reddit AMA:
Contents for Loot Chests are rolled at the time they are first opened. We debated this for a while, but in the end figured that allowed more flexibility for players. You’ve earned the chests and if you want to hold onto it to open in the future rather than dive into it immediately, that’s your choice.
This means you can save your chests for seasonal events and then open them at that time to get those special skins. As opposed to the Overwatch/Diablo systems where the contents of your boxes are rolled the instant you receive them.

Are you sure it means that? Because Overwatch has its own separate loot boxes during events. If the boxes were rolled at the time they were opened, they'd just have chances for anything new in them that was added to the regular box pool, but not things from the seasonal events. They already have character boxes, epic boxes, veteran boxes, so on and so forth. It seems pretty easy to expect that there'd be seasonal event boxes too.

Here's the question:
2) My second question revolves around the fact that Heroes is an ever evolving game where new collectable content is constantly being added in the form of heroes, mounts, and skins (and soon hero-related emojis and sprays) but the source of these items (i.e. Loot Chests) can be stockpiled indefinitely.
Questions: Are the contents of Loot Chests determined upon their creation or upon their destruction/opening? Can I stockpile Loot Chests from a current patch to unlock content coming in a future patch?
That indicates more to my point. Like if you got loot boxes last week, but opened them today, they could have Cassia stuff. Or if you waited two months, they could have Genji (or whoever) stuff too. But they're never going to have Winter Veil sprays or skins if those are locked in Winter Veil boxes only.

I mean, you can argue the technicality since no one from Blizz is here. I take the question and the answer at face value. I could be wrong, but /shrug.
I'm sure we'll find out for sure once 2.0 comes out.

Too bad Blizzard doesn't talk about the HotS financials in the quarterly reports. I think it would be fascinating to see how the HotS revenue stream changes (if it does) after 2.0. On one hand, it might drop now that people won't just be able to plunk down an impulsive $10 to buy a skin they really like and will be put off by the more limited options of gems and paying for chests. On the other hand, maybe the chest RNG-fest will appeal to enough players' gambling addictions that it'll pull in more money than the old system.

Brawls will finally give hero XP in 2.0.
