Argh! Why in the hell would a Clan assault need quirks? Is it the incredibly light and compact XL engines? or the compact Endo & Ferro upgrades? Or the tiny little 2 slot DHS?
Because quirks are just something to hand out now, independent of need or merit. Why leave something unquirked and get complaints from customers when you can preemptively quirk it, get those sweet pre-orders, and nerf it 6 months later when it comes out for CBills if there is actually a balance problem.
The though process is: the Supernova is obviously not going to be as good as the Kodiak, but the Kodiak has quirks. Therefore, the Supernova definitely needs quirks.
The Battlemaster and Warhammer are not actually outperforming its peers. They represent an ideal mix of hardpoints, hitboxes and weight that attract skilled IS players looking to maximize their advantage. The statistics PGI is looking at are bad data unless they are normalizing it against player skill. Heck, looking at my stats page, I'm not convinced PGI's data collection is even working correctly. This is why playing your own game is important.

But even more important than all this is common fucking sense, which PGI lacks in totality.
Common sense dictates the clans are OP, cause clan mechs top every event, clanners have won every Tukkayid, clanners take over the map every CW restart, in pug queue the side with the most clan mechs on it has a significantly higher chance to win.

Just the IS needing to git gud.
As the organized pushes have shown, even the elite tier IS forces face excruciating effort trying to take a planet form clan pugs.

Actually, IS seems to be winning (well, not losing) CW phases lately because all the Clanners finally got tired of winning. I dropped with a KCom guy who's apparently loyal with Liao atm.

As soon as the Super Nova drops, all the mercs will be back on clan side to drive it, and stay for the short queues.
Watching your Nova teammate fire his eight small pulse lasers at something 280M away...
Targeting computer? I mean, that would extend the maximum range a bit...but even without, it's still going to deal damage (albeit, not a whole lot of damage).

It was showing a red damage indicator, but not in any way changing the armor status of the medium mech he was shooting. It was a pretty pointless alpha.

Hmm...with 8 of them at nearly the upper limit to their range, it probably did 1, maybe 2, points of damage. If the event is still going on, that's plenty to get the Protected Medium credit.

watching your teammates fire their AC20, their LPL, their MLas and their LRMs, all at a target 1000m away.

Yeah I think I've done nearly all those dumb things in this game. Long ago it was because I didn't know. Now it is because I'm not paying attention and feel like an idiot when I let off a salvo of missiles at over 1km away or fire off those SL out of range.
Sooo is there going to be an Oosik night tonight? I'm coming off a sickness and might be up for shooting LRMs at targets 1km+ away and pointing my laser pointers at enemies.

I might not make it to this one. I usually have to take off early to make it and can't spare the time this week.

Unfortunately, I'm going to to be off the dropship for three weeks. I'm getting ready for my yearly gaming convention sprint, and will be out of town and away from my computer all next week.
After that I'll be back, with a powerful stompybot itch to scratch.

Just pilot a king crab. I can't bump off a leg in that.
Last couple of nights have had some pretty weird hit reg issues. I've never had so much trouble hitting lights with SRMs or MPLs.
First CW match of the night was actually Skirmish on Alpine Peaks again. Ffffffffuuuuuuuuuck! What do you want to guess they get the spawns next to Fuck Off Hill? Of course they did, a Timberwolf is already on top of the damn mountain shining ERLL's at us out of spawn. My BLR-1G ruined many paintjobs with LLs at 800m, finally wearing out as their second wave came up to retake the hill. Next, I brought my SHD-2K with 3 ERLL (this duration is fucking bullshit) and spent about 15 solid minutes trolling all their LRM boats. I swear the hill in front of me must have tanked about 30 tons of LRM ammo. Hill MVP. It went the full 30 fucking minutes with us trading ERPPC and ERLL spam back and forth, and we won because we brought heat sinks so we could cool off while flocks of LRMs passed overhead. 30 minutes for 38 whole kills. That's almost a minute each for 12 people to kill 1 enemy target.
Second match was Skirmish on Frozen City. For fucks sake, seriously? I brought my Marauders just for a change of pace, but quickly regretted the decision as my MAD-5D spent most of its energy melting snow off the rocks in front of me. I don't remember these arms being so low. Those were the few times I was actually shooting at something and not hiding behind a building tanking tons and tons of LRMs again. My 3R's AC5 shells seemed to move with little motivation across the vast empty space between clusters of building that could shelter me from the blue rain. After a pretty uneventful run in my Marauders, it was time for my XL340, 6MPL QKD-5K. I flew across the map and ran right into a 6 Streak6 Mad Dog. I took one wave of streaks, ONE, and my Left Arm armor was gone and my Left Side Torso was at red internals. Fuck this unbelievable Clan bullshit. Luckily my teammates caught him from behind while he patiently waited to 2 shot a fucking heavy with anti-light weapons (too bad he didn't spare a couple tons for some Mediu...I mean Clan Small Lasers.) Afterwards I chased a few lights around favoring my weak side to run out the clock. Had over 2k damage this time somehow. When did that happen?
Man I want Alpine out of the game. Why is that the one old map still hanging around like a bad smell? Is it because its tailor made for Clantech. Nooooo, that couldn't be it. Winning never felt so frustrating.

ever since this event the clan CW bullshit of poptart ERLLs and ERPPCs seems to have moved into pugqueue too.
Nothing better than dropping in an IS mech and be completely unable to do anything as an enemy whittles you down to nothing from twice your effective range.
Its Thor's Day. That mean FRR needs to bring some viking justice to some dirty clanners. Or at least shoot some stompy robots. Because Padre hates progress I'm waiting in Vent.

But there are no melee mechs with which to bludgeon clanners with.
Sorry I missed you guys after popping the Oosik flare earlier today. Got home later than expected so just now looking online to see if anybody was there. I'll try to be on next week.

Stormcrow is a better SPL boat, it can run 10 with a backup ERLL for range.

I also routinely fire Clan lasers at out of range targets because I forget their max ranges aren't double their optimal.
